So, while I was looking at the showerhead and thinking about different ways to do concentrates...has anyone played around with having a mass of hemp fiber (or just a good ole bowl of flower) in the bowl and then doing convection style dabs? directly on top of the showerhead's intake holes? I know this would be messy and need to be cleaned hence why I can see someone not liking the idea. just thought it might be interesting to see the flavor. I guess most will zip right through the showerhead and just land in hemp fiber?

I've done it. And the double-decker equivalent. Works fine despite the mess... though my interest in concentrates is almost nonexistent these days. I'm enjoying full nug flower rips way too much!

My current method is mostly full nugs, breaking them up as I proceed and they dry and crisp, in a glass bowl with glass screen (as described a few pages ago). On the occasion that I want scoops of fine-grind, I make a little "mat" out of the hemp fiber and put it over the glass star screen in the glass bowl to keep fine grind from falling through the gaps. As always, I also have some kind of hemp fiber filter between the bowl and pipe inlet to keep the glass clean.

My NewVape Titanium bowls, all 6 of them, have been receiving constant neglect from me lately... I'm just enjoying the full glass bowl/screen setup too much!

I got the dynavap, which delivers insanely powerful hits compared to the minivap. My Butane lighter is being finicky though, so ordered a new vaporizer....
Now that I type it, it sounds crazy, but =D

Now I just need to buy a desk to put this thing on.

My celebratory bowl last night was a full nug of lsd flower with some durban poison x pineapple express wax smeared all over the top side. I preheated the nug then did a very slow draw until it seemed like the nug saturated, then I ripped it until it was yellow. Broke the nug up, the following hit was thick. It was truly one of the best highs of the year, the pineapple and pine was rocking. Here's to 2018 FPeeps =)

Hit some well cured Kushwreck last night with matching rosin that was one of the strongest highs of the year by far. Super racey, been at least 6 months since I felt anything near that strong. Very contemplative thoughts, gotta love that for NYE!

I've been running into the same problem. Where do I put my new stuff...

I don't think I'll be able to handle flower and dabs at the same time with this thing. I can barely handle a dab or vapor separately. But both at the same time?

It's connected to an enail that you have control over. Turn the temp up too high with too slow of a draw and you'll get combustion. I've combusted at 710 by pulling too slow and thinking the bowl wasn't finished. Turned it down to 700 and kept my draw speed always above what I consider my minimum and haven't had an issue since.

I also used to run it at 550 at could leave the SH on pretty much the whole time I was seshing with the ABV never fully browned. Always had a lightness to it.

YOU are in control. You get to use it how you wish. Lately I've preferred the higher temps just because I've picked up other vapes and have been enjoying flavor town on them. SH hasn't been getting as much use but that's just because I've been happy using it as just a heavy hitter, but it certainly can be everything in between.

Err... I don't see how you COULDN'T combust if you were using the device poorly. So yes, I would expect to see a post of someone screwing it up on reddit as it's the largest community of people, you'll definitely find at least 1 person mess up using the device.

To clarify, FC comments should take priority over reddit. GENERAL internet rules dictate that you want to take the opinion of the dedicated community website (fuckcombustion.com is a dedicated site for vaporizing) over a general community like reddit. Reddit is a great place to start your search, but once you're at a place like here, you'll get more detailed responses.
My other general tip, check out the threads in the portable/plugin section by looking at the views, replies, and date the thread was started to get an idea of the options and the popularity of options.
FlowerPot and Dynavap definitely take the lead in popularity, good way to get a starting point of browsing the vaporizers on this forum if you want.

So much this. I got it for a heavy hitter, but you can combust just like other vapes I'd imagine. I combuted in my DaBuddha vaporizer. I've NEVER combusted in my minivap, and don't think it's possible, but that's a sipper and doesn't hit as hard.

My connect has wax "from Colorado" supposedly, so that was a TINY TINY reason why I got this. I doubt I can handle both, but my marijuana budget is something I don't skimp on (I have no hobbies... literally none to spend money on) so I'll definitely TRY to dab and flower at the same time....

I have never combusted with the showerhead at 710 degrees no matter how slow I draw. You can up the temp at 1000 degrees so its possible to reach combustion temps but i never needed to go any higher

Hope this is not a dumb question....but is there any sort of burn in or "seasoning" I should do with the Ti bowl before I use the vape?

Nah but you might swab it with a bit of ISO just to check for any machining oils which were missed.

Thanks, I usually iso stuff off before I use them anyway. I just didnt know if I needed to condition parts in anyway prior to using.

I am highly sensitive in tastes and smells, so after reading about some e-nail stuff with people debating over how to season or if it is even needed with Ti nail bowls/parts, I was not sure about this subject.

IMO, if you keep the screen clean, I do not think combustion is as much of a possibility. I combusted once since I've owned mine and looking back at how long it went without a screen swapout or cleaning, I am leaning more and more towards that combustion taking place due to clogged screen with insufficient airflow.

Since glass bowls aren't happening, I think I'm going to pull the trigger on a new Adjustabowl and several double-mesh ti screens. I don't care for torching the screens as much and this way I can just rotate them out, putting one in alcohol to soak.

Yeah seasoning Ti is an old debate. Evenly the owner of Highly Educated says not to season Ti anymore "Yup, you heard me right, qtip the titanium. Because a clean surface tastes better no matter what material you're using."

I've gotten into the habit of brushing my screen out after every session! Keeps everything clean and free-flowing.

FWIW we clean all parts in a lengthy ultrasonic bath to remove oils or coolants used in machining. That being said we recommend that each owner clean all parts prior to use if purely for peace of mind. ISO is definitely fine on all metal parts, and an h2o rinse for good measure. Not that it matters, a little bit of ISO isn't going to survive the heat-up process.

I've never come across this, ever, but If anyone finds any oil on our parts, please let us know!

Also @invertedisdead and @Square4Life (and others) are spot on, a clean screen is VITAL to FP happiness.

Once my flowerpot comes in I'll let ya know! That's when I'll pick up some concentrate. Ya I have a high tolerance, really, if you leave me idle or just watching TV or something, I'll vape. Why not =D

I haven't had combustion, although I keep going until my stuff is pretty dark. Mine gets dark and still has taste because I vape with some rosin on top. I stop when I notice the taste going south (burnt). I've been vaping the devils lettuce with my e-nail set at 666 for over a month now.

I don't know what will come in the future to eclipse what I'm doing now in the weed consumption game. I'm sure there will be something. But with my 20-ton rosin press, and the flowerpot, I'm in happy heaven. I lay a bed of flower in the bowl, add rosin from that same strain on ti screen and lay it on top (2nd press rosin*), finally put the WA SiC bowl on top, grab a slab of rosin from the 1st press* and dab it as I get ride going. Before I know it, I'm 6-8 hits in needing a break in order to continue.

* When I press for rosin, the best stuff comes with the first press of the material. Then I press it again at a slightly higher temp to try and squeeze all remaining rosin out. I separate the batches because the first press stuff is much cleaner

I've never combusted with my FP setups, though I'm pretty sure I came close a few times based on the darkness of some of my high-temp ABV!

I wish I could say the same about my SBJr... it's touchy. Worth it though!
