I have a couple of the NV single controllers and an auber 300. They both do the job well (I’m not in any way disabled so that hasn’t factored in for me). There are pros and cons to both and for me (YMMV):
NV controller
Pros:

• Cheaper
• Can stack stuff on top
• Biggest pro for me is heat up speed. The controller overshoots quite a bit (even after an auto tune) and this is perfect for FPs. By the time the controller gets back down to the set temp after overshooting, it’s heat soaked and ready to go.

Cons:

• The buttons really are a pain. Single degree increments and if you hold it you’ve got a few seconds before it goes in to super speed ramp up and you often end up 50-100 degrees above what you were aiming for.

Auber
Pros:

• Temp dial for exactly the cons of the nv controller
• More steady temp during hits. I haven’t tested this with any real numbers but the more gradual changes in temp make it appear to have less jumpy temps (not that this makes any difference when vaping but this is important to some)
• It looks better/subjectively I like the design and the temp reading and the NV dial

Cons:

• More expensive
• Coils more expensive
• Slower heat up time/not actually slower but you’ll have to wait after it says it’s got to temp for it actually to have heat soaked properly
• Can’t put stuff on it
• Auto-shutoff - for most people probably a pro but I started with the nv controllers and just got used to turning it off myself. Now using the auber I upped the time to 2.5 hours (which is clearly not enough) as I find myself immediately pressing the power button when I hear the click of the heater turning off. I could just turn this off but then I’ve got the more expensive controller solely for the dial

I should add that I originally got the auber so I could somewhat up-temp a dab but have actually found the NV controller better for this as it heats back up quicker (press power button wait until ~450 then press power button and dab) vs using the dial but a much more gradual heating curve.

This is all just IMO/IME etc and others will probably have a very diff pro/con list

We all have our own desires and preferences, so please don't take this as in anyway being argumentative or an attempt to contradict you. Its just my view of things. As a preface, I own an RDK-300, an Omron E5CC based Greenlight, and two each dual NV (Vapecode) controllers with my press.

So, I liked your list very much but would modify, for me only, it thusly:

NV controller
Pros:

• Cheaper

By the time the controller gets back down to the set temp after overshooting, it’s heat soaked and ready to go.As you noted, its not really heat up time, its really a matter of heat soaking quicker because of overshoot. This is not particularly an issue for me but if I wanted a similar effect, I could just put my Auber on say 800F and then step it down...with the easy to use rotary knob....to my desired temp.

Cons:

• The buttons really are a little bit of a pain. But, I have an Omron E5CC based Greenleaf controller with the same style of buttons as well as the NV ones and the button action is not a big deal for me....but it seems to be for others.
• Aviation screw on connector. I know, I know, I know that there is no formal IEEE, ISO, or ASE standard on hot runner type coil mechnical and electrical interfaces, but there is rather a defacto standard reflected in the many sources for full size XLR connector equipped coils with D-nail type pin outs. Edwyn and I have agreed to just disagree on this and that's perfectly fine. We are still all good!! :-)

Auber
Pros:

• Rotary Temp Knob
  
• More steady temp during hits and in general I find the Auber PID implementation better....which is why it doesn't overshoot. That's what PID is for, after all. And in fact, my Omron based Chinese PID seems to be the most stable of all!!
  
• It looks better/subjectively I like the design and the temp reading and the NV dial. And I find the enclosure to be very solid, has a very solid feel to hand, and yes while the enclosure they use does have small cooling fins on the side, my Auber has NEVER gotten even warm to the touch.
• USA based telephone CS....yes, you can get an Auber CS rep on the phone, I have (haha but now I can't remember why...but i did get a CS eng on the phone).

Cons:

• More expensive
• Coils more expensive
• Slower heat up time/not actually slower but you’ll have to wait after it says it’s got to temp for it actually to have heat soaked properly
• Can’t put stuff on it Not a concern to me, personally
• Auto-shutoff - for most people probably a pro but I started with the nv controllers and just got used to turning it off myself. Now using the auber I upped the time to 2.5 hours (which is clearly not enough) as I find myself immediately pressing the power button when I hear the click of the heater turning off. I could just turn this off but then I’ve got the more expensive controller solely for the dial I just set the relevant variable to 999 and auto-shut off is disabled.

Just the way I see it and to me it just a matter of personal preference. Many people love their Auber and many people are very happy with the NV PID. Its just a matter of what factors are highest on your personal list of preferences since they all do the basic job of reaching and maintaining coil temp.

I went with the NV Controller because they make the stand for it. I went with the Nv dual controller because it was cheaper then buying two individual ones...and they make the stand for it. Id love to see one with a maybe 3-5 user defined preset temp buttons. @NewVape710, is that a possibility?

@Zangano Cruel I MUCH prefer my Auber over my NV controller. I think you'll find the vast majority that have both prefer the Auber. I have no hesitations recommending it over the NV controller to new users

They both heat up a coil without issue, but the usability of the Auber is much better imo. @WelshBrok and @Baron23 made a nice and detailed pro/con list.

For me, the rotary knob is leaps and bounds better than the buttons on the NV controller. I also find the Auber looks much more stylish than the NV, and the case is higher quality.

If you're on a budget and looking to save some cash, ya, go for the NV controller. But if you can spare the cost to upgrade, it simply is a better, more user friendly controller.

There is some good intel here. Everything seems accurate to me. Based on my testing the NV does overshoot more than the auber on heatup. However they both seem to arrive at the desired temperature at the same time. Please remember that with heat soak, adjusting the temp in not instantly. I typically don't adjust my temps after getting said vaporizer dialed in to my preferences. I do like the shutoff timer of the auber. In the future I hope to find a pid that is Bluetooth app based so we can personalize our heat up curves. The integrated safety stand and pid does allow a smaller footprint, resulting in a more compact pelican case and a cleaner vape bench.

In other news, I caught up with my friend today who I gave the VRod too. He's only using flower at the moment. He knows all the variables and has seen me go thru the temps, blah blah blah. I said start at 550 or 600 and maybe go up in 10 degree steps to find what you like.

Who knows maybe this is a possible smaller build that could work in the Tsunami. I love this community and how joint ventures and collaborations could come together to fast. I love my Auber with the sexy NV knob and was very grateful to be able to get the controller I wanted and still give my money to NV, rather than place a separate order with Auber. For me, the RDK-300A is much better looking and mostly there was no way in hell that I was getting locked into equipment that isn’t the de facto industry standard. I just hate incompatibility. I’m sure there’s loads of people who love their NV controller/coil and I’m honestly happy for them; the truth is we’re all different with different priorities and tastes. No need for tribalism over enail controllers. It’s all good, just as long as there’s some kinda Flowerpot on that coil!

@NewVape710 : coil & power come out the front on the Auber RDK-200 and they both come out the back on the RDK-300, just like the NV controller. So that’s not a difference. I personally wouldn’t consider buying a controller with the cables in the front. I love the idea of some collaboration between you and @maxvapor710 , seems like a match made in dabbing heaven: you guys are neighbours and you both have 710 handles! I’ve followed their thread from the beginning: he’s a smart, honest, transparent dude and their controller is the very best available imo based on the seriously experienced members that love it. This is very exciting! Raise that bar!!!

EDIT: and I would LOVE, but don't know if possible and would require a link stronger than blue tooth I'm sure (I'm not very techie, ease off!) - but to be able to turn-off the controller if you're on the other side of town or further away. I've forgotten it on a couple times when I've left the house for a few hours. Nothing bad has happened, but sometimes it nags me when I leave and I can't remember for sure if I turned it off or not!

The MaxVapor BT enail has an open platform and is easily customisable, so MV could provide premium hardware/software optimised for Tsusanami, Controllers and whatever-else crazy device they’ll come up with. I hate to use this millennial corporate word, but: these two companies have synergy in spades.

I’m set with Auber for VRod & GS but I wanna get a MaxVapor for a top-shelf dab setup and have capabilities for different dab techniques as well as temp curves and other sci-fi shit. MV do not sit around, it’s an evolving product and they work hard, pushing out updates and adding more features based on customers feedback to make the product even better. Sound like some other company you guys know of?

I have everything connected to a WEMO Switch, by Belkin.
Then use IFTTT app to set up your applet runs, aka scheduling ON/OFF, or my favorite one, location enabled.
When I leave home, Switch turns OFF.
When I’m about a mile radius, your phone app, will tell you “it just turned ON your Switch.
Awesome stuff indeed.
I used it a lot for my 2x EVOs, because of auto-off 45 minutes sucked, and that way, I never waited 20 minutes for heat soaked EVOs.
I have my Glass Symphony, the WeedEater, and OG VROD, all plugged to that Switch.
It tells you wattage used, and approximately $$ you’ll spend per month.
Stay vaped.
