Is there a noticeable difference in enails? I went with the newvape model to get started, but would buying a D-Nail or whatever make a difference with the flowerpot?

No, you just cant use coils other than the newvape ones.

Edit: though there are better enails out there. Some are better performance wise but some perform the same but have better features.

Just dropping in again for any people looking into the Vrod, if you were a bong smoker, have tried all the heavy hitting vapes and don’t like “fiddly” look no further.
The Vrod is what I see as the basic fundamentals of what desktop vapes will be in years even decades to come, but it was not sold to me in beta stage. 9.75/10 (allowing for further improvements in the future, whatever they could even be!)

I bet newvape would make some sweet Ti dynavap stems...

Yeah, I can just imagine that. Or maybe some sort of Ti dynacoil? Dunno if such a thing is possible.

I was thinking maybe something rosin press related but I dont see why that would need Ti.

Posted a bunch in the last 2-3 pages with my thoughts. I have used all iterations of the FP thus far. I'm happy with my weedeater but I have other devices specifically for concentrates, and never twax.

Thanks. Same for me all around. Sounds like this is exactly what I’m after. and the increased uncapped airflow should help my restriction issue on some of my recyclers

Unless another controller has features you really like (like if you prefer the timer and dial control on the Auber RDK 300-A which NewVape also sells), if you’re just going to leave it at a set temp the standard NewVape controller will be as good as anything. It’s only real job is providing a stable heat source for the head.

If you want an auto-off timer without buying a different controller, you can just get an outlet timer. Some even have Wi-Fi and can be controlled from smart home devices, but others are very simple and basic.

Just to be clear for everyone else, you can use other coils with the FlowerPot as long as they’re the same size as NewVape’s*, but it’s good to check on specific coils before buying them.

I’m assuming you mean that you can’t use other coils with NewVape’s controller because of the different connector, but the Auber controller they also have now uses a D-Nail style connector.

I believe it’s the same pinout too, so you can use a lot of different coils with that one or use that coil with some other controllers.

*The ShowerHead and (to a lesser extent) WeedEater work with even more coils, but in exchange the head isn’t perfectly fit to the coil so the heat transfer to the top is less efficient than in the VRod.

This might matter for dabbing on the ShowerHead, but it shouldn’t matter for the WeedEater unless you’re trying to dab on it.

Thanks for the concise breakdown :)
I know the coils need to be 20mm with 5(?) clockwise wraps and XLR plug etc, I guess I was mainly wondering about the controllers. I noticed a large percentage of them seem to be using the same interface, regardless of price or brand, which doesn't really warrant the price difference. Maybe i'm being stingy but i find them overpriced, given their simplicity.

Hey @NewVape710 & @newvape918 Happy Monday morning! I have a question about the exciting new Weedeater: would a 20mm coil with a 15.8mm height work? Is there a maximum (or minimum) height requirement for the coil to be used with the Weedeater?

I know I shouldn’t quote myself but @VaporWare reminded me that I didn’t get a response from NV this week so hoping they’ll notice the repost. That’ll teach me to ask a question over the weekend!
Everyone at NV is working hard and hustling, and I’m over here like “me-me-me!”

But I think it’s an important question and would definitely be helpful for prospective WE customers if the min/max height requirements were listed on the product’s page. It says “Fits Standard 20mm Coil” but what are a standard coil’s dimensions (beyond the 20mm ID)? If folks already have 20mm coils on hand, and I’m sure many do, it’s a legitimate question to ask before purchasing. Tbh I don’t want to buy another $50 coil if I can spend that $50 on other cool accessories from NewVape. Let’s all be real. :D

@pxl_jockey the weedeater needs 4/5 wrap 20mm coil to fit snug no matter of coil wrap direction. A 3/4 wrap coil will work but will be lose inside of the head and require additional time to heat soak. The showerhead nut is independent and will snug up on 3/4 wrap coils. I can post dimensions but most people don't have calipers. Counting the coil wraps will do just as well. Here's a video that expands on the subject. 3/4 - 4/5 wraps explained @ 3:10

@emmdeemo The new parts are not dynavap or rosin press related.

Hoping the new whatever is being presented has a better name than the “weedeater”. Super original for sure. The name just makes me want to buy nv products. Might as well just call it “the enail weed vape” ;). Just wanted to pop in here to say how disappointed I am to hear about such a silly name for a vape. Peace!

hehehehe....I guess I just wanted to pop in and say I don't care wtf they call their products....haha...a rose by any other name should smell so sweet! LOL

For those NV heater heads that need a 4/5 coil (weedeater and Vrod) to be completely snug, another thought if you have a 3/4 coil and want to save some money you can open up some distance between the coils by the gentle use of a flat head screw driver. Gentle is the key word but you can def spread coils and even tighten/loosen the diameter just a bit to snug them up. At least that's my experience.

Hi Edwyn - look forward to the big reveal. So, you going to Daytona for bike week? Used to live in Daytona....during bike week we all got the hell out of town! haha

Haven't been to Daytona for bike week since...oh, my....1990. Shit, I've gotten old! haha

Have a great time up there...I always liked going to this dirt flat track...toward Deland I think. It was small and the racing was fun to watch up close....and dirt flat track can be exciting.

Cheers

@Zow237 the silly names are an attempt to help aid in the seo department. I'd prefer just a part number myself. As it turns out the name newvape was a bad name choice and limits us from being on amazon, ebay, google shopping, paypal, quicken, apple pay, and the list goes on. Weedeater vape is a name that you don't have to write down to remember and will show up on the first page of the organic listing without spending millions. your going to really like the next one.

Thank you sir! I appreciate your patience and thorough explanation, of course you’re right, most people don’t have calipers laying around. Thanks for the video too, I always appreciate the NV videos!

Hello @Baron23 i've been camping at the cabbage patch for many years.
Ah, the Cabbage Patch....wow, home to some of the drunkest sociopaths I have ever met (well, there was a lot of hammered 1% guys there when I have been LOL). I didn't know they had camping there.

I have been there a couple of times for the annual torching of the rice burner LOL Don't know if they do it anymore, but they would haul a Jap bike up by a rope around a branch and set it on fire! Hopefully, someone remembered to take all of the gasoline out first....seems like it, didn't see it blow up! :o

Travel safe and have a great time!!

I like the name weedeater. To say that I have a flowerpot with a weedeater head sounds cool to me, but I'm a geek.
