Right, so let me just check I've got this straight please:

For the first time ever in the last 12 years, I have a very good harvest of (rather nice) weed I can use, I am (hopefully) going to get a lot better in my health very soon...

AND, I am practically wholeheartedly decided on purchasing the:

Best. Vape. Ever.

Best. Vape. Ever :)

I think I have got that right anyway, maybe an "IF" or two, but I am feeling remarkably more positive about the whole situation than I could have anticipated recently!:)

One big massive thank you to everybody in this thread for helping me get my focus straight in such a positive and decided manner!

@Alexis - pid + SH kit is all you really need, don't worry about the showercap or coil handle or stand (for now). It's very inexpensive and you'll be able to play along with all the cool kids! Then you will become addicted and the accessories will become your new acquisition! Seriously man, it's hurting to much to watch you drool over this! DO IT! Notice how I didn't say the same thing about the others we've discussed in the past? :brow: Neutral polarity hogwash! There I said it! :o

Ultra low temp testing in the house!

Herbal Essence: C-Weed outdoor mid-grade (sativa dom hybrid) near full bowl with medium-fine grind (kannastor coarse plate), very very minimally slightly tamped.

Temp: 525c

SC: ON!

Draw: slow then ramped up

Milk: Skim

Flavour: OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!!

WOW!!! I'm going to have do this just to flavour the CANDY tasting flavour nuances!!! Very gently stripped the terps and actives and actually changed the colour.

Going back for a stir tamp temp ramp and another go!

Stir-Tamp-Temp Ramp! I like that!

Yeah, I noticed a massive flavour increase at these temps, really noticable. I dont ramp up, but go fast from the start. I always been a fan of choosing one draw strength and sticking with it for consistent, repeatable results. Gonna try some speed ramping today :D

When I hit the speed that works, theres a very noticable audible 'wheeze' from the hole in the showercap. I now want a showercap that whistles at the right air speed :)

Ah yes, that's why you love the SC! I get it now...because yeah it gives just the right restriction to be able to pull full tilt.

Haha yes! I know exactly what you're talking about. If you want a whistle get an EVO! :lmao:

But DAMN 525f is low... let's give this a whirl...

Well, I may have to raise you and try 500f then! BUT, this time i'm going FINE grind, and top shelf meds!

Hey - it's for NV science! :science:

Its not that low in air temp going thru the bowl if permanently capped and with a high draw speed.

Yep, had to do high draw just like I couldn't get through my skull the other day! :brow:

Revaped that earier bowl from 525 at 600 and received another tasty glorious hit!

I'm starting to realize many of the low tempers here are filling bowls? I don't think low temps under 600 seem that great for micros, but I may be wrong as always.

Think that micros (.05 or under) are best around 670 and up?

I agree. I gotta use the cap at 640f with .05g for sure!

I'm going to start at 575 actually. Finegrind only for me for now!

I don't remember going below 600 but then again I don't use the FP to help me remember things typically. This green crack is some GH light-dep, but it's organic and very tasty! Plenty of trichs but a lot of my indoor top-shelf meds are indica-heavy and I've got some studying to do today... and not FP studying! lol

holyshit... 575capped is very nice... Nice vapor prod still!

I regret not deviating from my baked cave of 640f bliss earlier - going lower tho, need more taste!

Yeah, diminishing returns on very small loads at these temps, but only in terms of visible big clouds and irritation, for me anyway. Effects Im still getting as I will temp step a little and get the most out of it without irritation.

However, part of it is that at the high draw speed and small loads, too much air is being pulled around the flower, not thru it... the solution, if one wants to stay at 'low' temps is a basket screen, forcing the air to ALWAYS go thru flower, but then that introduces more draw restriction and in combination with the restriction the SC adds, its too much draw restriction for me.

So, for me, microdosing will be done at slightly higher temps, maybe going back to my usual ultra low draw speed for full fat milk.

FUCKING VERSATILITY THRU THE FUCKING ROOF!

For instance, Im still vaping on a full bowl I started yesterday, before bed. Its still not that dark, still tastes nice, still getting me daytime high :)

okay i'm doing it....pid is undershooting at the moment to get it accurate (LOVE this feature!)

Going with the same medium-fine grind as before to keep it consistent.

AAA Jack Herer (top 5 personal fave sativa) indoor, about .25g; no tamp just levelled out

Temp 500f w/cap

Let's see how low she can go!

I predict whispy but full of flavour :)

I'm actually at 500 atm, same bowl I was on last night. I havent done any PID shenanigans tho.

Right... Time to bastardise these two broken Vapecode controllers into one working one!

You are correct my friend! Zero milk in the can, wispiest exhaled vapour (but still there) and taste had almost notes of Orange Crush! But the biomass didn't change colour, and I wouldn't do it again. I think 525 is my most usable minimum temp with this grind. But once I try fine again, i'm sure I may reconsider. Flavour Country indeed.

So then I took that same bowl up to 600 w/ cap and got a really tasty (but not as tasty as those low 500 hits) hit with actual decent vapour production/cloud exhaled.

Couldn't agree more about the FP versatility! SO happy I have the showercap now!

Curious about dabbing since i'm such a rook. So you can place and smear the dab on the nail and then cap and THEN inhale? I always thought you needed to be inhaling AS you dabbed otherwise it wastes? I just find it all hard to co-ordinate since i'm standing up vaping in the kitchen. Dab smear, cap and then pull would make it SO much easier, and less likely to have that cap fly all over the place.

I think we live on the same vapelength! I go by the whistle to keep consistancy of hits, always get repeatable results =) I wholeheartedly agree with @NewVape710 you're contributions are extremely helpful and important!

start inhaling, apply your dab, cap until desired, remove cap and clear your piece :science:

Thanks bro, just clarifying because it didn't look like that in @Stu @Buildozer video

Thanks for posting that boys! I can only imagine the feeling! Which I hope to experience one day with @lazylathe FP and mine with the Claisen!

Got showercap buy in from the wife! @Alexis she calls is a carbon cap too  Only complaint is the weight (hers not mine), so I told her about the lighter Ti SC that's coming out that she's going to by me herself. :brow:

I think 550~+cap on will be my new go-to daytime temp. I really wish I had tried this earlier. Totally not necessary to have a nice time obviously, but this adds a lot to my fun :science:

I mostly use my recycler still, and I try and keep the draw steady enough to keep it recycling steadily (regardless of cap or not) and it seems to work pretty well as a drawspeed regulator.

I usually have music on when vaping so I don't notice a whistle or anything. Fuck the Evo whistle. I heard someone's on instagram for the first time the other day and it was AWFUL. I couldn't deal with that tbh. I heard it loud over THEIR music in the video AND my own music... lol

@biohacker I find it's not too bad to hold my waterpiece in one hand and do everything else with the other. If you apply the dab and aren't drawing, you will def waste some/all of it.

I think the reasons why so many feel great about the FP and sing it's praises is because it's literally the hat you can buy in the store that will fit every person. Between temperature, draw strength, rig, material, grind, carb cap (or not), even different configurations, we are finding it meets or exceeds expectations. We have found the upper and lower extremes and play in the middle =)

I'm no fan boy, but I am a fan of the FP. This device gets someone caught up completely IMO in the desktop vaporizer world.

Yeah I think I can swing it, and even though i'm using a claisen to space the FP further out, it's still kind of a bitch to see my own dabbing with the only water tool I have.

I yet have NV fine grinder since one year, do i need also their coarse grinder? I have also a spacecase 2 pieces...

What about NV screens? how many replacements i have to buy? brass or stainless?

I think the spacecase 2 piece does well at medium or fine grind, just twist it a few times for coarse, 10-12 twists for fine. The FP comes with 2 or 3 screens? I bought an extra pack of 10 brass and 10 stainless, dont think I'll use all of those over the next year or two. Also, I do not taste the screen at all and I'm using brass which used to be horrible in lighter bowls.

love the 525 = skim milk reference.
700 = whole milk?

unless you changed your controller it is 525F not C

LOL the C was just habit! But is it even possible to change the controller to display C?

Yep 700 is very whole full fat moo juice!

Just my opinion, but I think the real bandwidth and usable temp of the FP on my controller is 500-800. Talk about versatility! Those low 500 hits with a full bowl felt around 150-160c-ish. My sub 600 testing is complete for now. Back to the 600-700 range!
