I can see clearly now the smoke is gone...
Firstly props to the op and others who brought this to the light. Too many weed users want to get defensive when something like this comes up as if it is going to diminish their precious weed or something. There are issues with using weed just like any other product from Jack Daniels to potato chips and to not be aware of them or dismiss them is silly.
I just recently had this happen to me after 3-4 days straight puffing and drinking. I was depressed/hungover for 2 days and didn't feel "right" for a few days after that. What I did to ease thru it was backoff over 50% of my vaping and after the first day abstained from alcohol. Getting back into a regular rhythm helps too as someone said here, know what you are going to do before you get high. Then you won't just sit around like a zombie.
Even if it is watch TV, I will say to myself "I'm gonna get a buzz on and watch Inspector Lewis" and that's what I will do instead of sitting there with the clicker for an hour too stoned to decide what to watch.
I too blame it in the high THC vs CBD ratio of some of the Sativas we can get now. Without the CBD you have nothing to counter the THC effects of anxiety/depression etc.
