I got a couple more strains from Aurora since last post and am again impressed and happy with what I got, woohoo! I got some blue dream and some ghost train haze, theyre both solid, and have incredibly powerful and distinct aromas.
The ghost train haze I will say is a little fluffier than I remember, but its really good regardless. I noticed they have a new strain up in their shop, I would like to try it, zombie kush. Its got lowish numbers for THC but high numbers for terpenes. Ive been rocked by stuff that was >10% and had stuff that was 29% apparently that got me high but not as high as expected. So the numbers arent always entirely relevant to the effects of the bud, although they are generally a good guideline.
Anyway back to the zombie kush, its a strain i havent heard of much but would love to try, cant order till the 26 haha. Its got a good parental line for the genetics, strains that I like quite a bit, plus I love that classic kush taste and smell so much. I dont see it running out though since its low %thc number haha. I thought at first it was gonna be from a different LP since they never had it in their growing or harvested section, I may call to double check before I make a order since every single time I order stuff they "thoughtfully curated" from a different LP its garbage.
Just thought I would chime in with more of my recent experiences, honestly at this point I am pretty happy and hopeful for the future. Things are going in the right direction, and it looks like its set to continue in that manner. As more and more of the new facilities become operational, we will see dramatic increases in the diversity of product lines I believe, which I look forward to.
Hope others are having positive experiences with their LPs aswell, its about time!
I really like the following strains from Aurora:
- Ghost Train Haze
- '91 Krypt OG Melon
- '91 Krypt OG Chemdawg
- Blue Dream
They are all great rosin producers (~25%) and all have great flavor and aroma. The Ghost Train Haze, followed up by the Melon are my favourites ... both for rosin and for flower ..
In regards to the last batch of Ghost Train Haze being a little fluffy, I agree ... this is the fluffiest I've seen it, but still >20% THC and still yielding ~25% return for rosin. (The last batch of Ghost Train Haze I got was really, really nice, not as fluffy, and ~23% THC, and would yield ~28-29% avg for rosin). In other words, yes it's a little fluffy, but the quality is still superb. It's potent, it's clean, and the aroma is great. It's not gamma irradiated, nor is it electron beam sterilized, and their are no pesticides used. These things are important to me and I do feel make a difference. Is this the best cannabis I've ever had? Definitely not, but I prefer it to almost all current Broken Coast strains (I do like their Sour OG, but the last couple times I've ordered it, it hasn't been as good, and the price on it is now insane! -- 10.25 or 10.75 ... can't remember and they are out of stock ...)
It's good, and the quality has been consistent for me and I've been ordering from them almost exclusively for the last 6 months (about 60-70% Ghost Train Haze which I like as my primary medication ... superb aroma, and produces great rosin too)
There is not a single online dispensary that I have ordered from (LP or Dispensary), nor brick and mortar dispensary that also does online business, that has on avg had as good quality as what I've received from Aurora so far in 2018. Every dispensary or LP I've purchased from in the last 7 years, they've all at times sold me sub-par product, and have all had a horrible time carrying any consistent products with consistent quality ... might be good for a couple months, then you're fucked ... I inevitably and up stuck with ounces of cannabis I don't want ... this is what I'm trying to avoid and so far so good w/ Aurora.
That being said, their customer service is absolutely 100% horrible; every time I have a real question I get a politician's answer back (ie. no answer at all).
Here's their track record:
1st real question: "It says on your site that the Broken Coast Sour OG that your are carrying isn't gamma irradiated, and meets all the same standards as you have for your cannabis. So this begs the question, is for some reason the Sour OG you have from BC not electron beam sterilized as they e-beam sterilize all their products, or is it that your products are also e-beam sterilized perhaps? since it only explicitly states something about gamma irradiation on your site?"
It took me about a month, and many, many e-mails (maybe 5-10?), most that got radio silence, before I got an answer, which was no answer at all. The answer they provided was:
1. Their cannabis is definitely not e-beam sterilized.
2. I would have to ask Broken Coast if the Sour OG is e-beam sterilized or not. In other words they are blatantly lying about the partner products following the same standards (ie. no gamma irradiation/e-beam sterilization/pesticides/etc) that their products do.
2nd real question: "Your Ghost Train Haze has been in the 'Harvested' section for quite some time, and I've been checking multiple times per day, as my supply is getting low. If I don't order soon, I will run out of product. This is my primary medicine and need to know if I need to figure out alternate arrangements as I've been waiting for weeks now. Any type of estimate or ETA would be helpful so I can plan accordingly."
They responded that they basically had no clue and could provide absolutely no information at all as to potential future product availability. I told them this was not true as in fact their web site does provide some estimates as they do have stuff listed in "harvested" and "growing". I also insisted that their must be someone in the company that they could follow up with, that would know where in the process of curing/testing/packaging the product was, which would help me greatly. The fact that they were telling me that they
couldn't get me this information was disingenuous at best, a more honest answer would be that they are
unwilling to do the work to get me the information or that some policy absolutely forbids them from providing it to me (which I doubt) ... ie. they are too lazy or the lowest common denominator on the phone just can't think his way out of a fucking cardboard box ...
The end to the back-and-forth was basically that they were "sorry they couldn't help me and any inconvenience it might cause me." What a fucking joke.
In other words, so far Aurora's product has been good, but if you have a real question you want answered, don't even bother wasting your time contacting them; they don't care enough to actually try to find you an answer.
