same here stinkmeaner, those little jars would be good for the inbetween grinding and vapin stage, but I would only need a few of them.

I seriously envy those who have a fairly regulated selection of strains and such.

Tstat: yes I think that the only real airtight containers are mason/canning jars(2 piece lid +band) and thats is where everything of mine is stored. my AVB has its own mason jar as well

A great way to store any smoking materials is to use a humidor, you can control humidity,light,temps ,airflow etc. and products stay fresh for a long time. Cigars lovers have been using this method for a long time and some of their cigars can cost up to $50.00 for 1 cigar so storage and waste can be an issue but not when a humidor is used and contolled correctly

I used humidity control Boveda packs once. The problem is they only go down to 65%, and that's still in the danger zone.

In my opinion whai I do now (the mason jar under vacuum, with material that is below 60% moisture, in a cool dark place) is about optimal. The improvement that interests me would be the potential to replace the air in the jar with Nitrogen. I think there are wine storage systems that do this. That seems like the way to ensure the O2 level is nearly zero.

Anyway, I have some material that is its second year under vacuum and still great stuff. At or below 60% moisture, the material is a really nice consistency.

I looked at the mini-vacs and per the manufacturer they don't pull much of a vacuum and don't stay as a vacuum. That's all fine... unless you want the long-term benefits of the relatively O2 free vacuum.

9g in the Large mVessel is a huge understatement... I can fit a full Oz (28g) in mine if it's stuffed down enough.

Hell, the medium can fit a half oz. stuffed tightly and that's 14g right there. The Medium is half the size of the large.

I can't recommend mVessels enough, really fantastic storage. I might invest in a small soon too for a little transportable stash. That's what I currently use the medium for, but a half oz of storage isn't exactly small.

I've yet to get anything stuck and it all comes out looking (and more importantly vaping) the exact same as it did when it went in.

^^ Yeah, I like those too, but the problem is, that for me, whatever jar I put them in had more air in it than bud. It's hard to find a mason jar small enough to rectify that situation so for me, the SpaceCase containers that come in 1g, 2g and 3.5g sizes made the most sense. This way, as I use my bud, I can transfer to smaller containers as I go.

Sorry, I should have posted more details- I did not break or compress any nugs, though I did try to select ones that would fit reasonably well in each container (there were some that were too fat for the mVessels). It was more of a 'minimum full' capacity so I could easily eyeball a loosely filled container. Compressing or grinding could easily double or triple the capacity in each container.

If the air is a problem because of drying and material degrading I'll once again get on my soap box for simply pulling a vacuum on the mason jar. A real vacuum, I mean.

For those who have not done this, all I can say is a vacuum will maintain the freshest quality possible for long term storage. Everything stays moist and no Oxygen means no plant material degradation. It's the O2 that causes organic material to rot, essentially. Could be potato chips, etc. This is why chips are packed in Nitrogen.

A simple vac-sealer ($29) will last for years and you use a standard mason jar + lid. So all glass, no air and fresh as can be product.

I have 2+ year old material under vacuum that is still the same moistness and taste as two years ago. If you have quantities that need to be stored long term, a vacuum is a real luxury

Just got these off amazon for $7 for 4 of them with free shipping and they work great. The picture is of the smaller ones, but the link is for the larger ones. They're aluminum and have a rubber ring so they're air/water tight. The larger ones are about the same size around as a regular Rx bottle, but a bit shorter. I just twisted of the keychain rings tho, cause they're stupid.

Since I was going by the picture, which shows the smaller sized ones, i was expecting them to be around half the size that they are, to carry a little finely ground herb in my LB sack with. But they work for keeping all my stuff in. Unless i have multiple types of herb to store separate, i usually use one for unground, one for log vape normally-ground, one for LB fine grind, and one for abv (unless its from HA, that shit goes straight in the trash lol)

As far as storage goes, I also would never buy a "stash jar" and pay a markup because it says "420" or something on it. I have different storage needs than most. For long term storage, I use mason jars and put them in a cabinet. They stay air-tight and light does not get at them.

Once I started on this vape journey, I decided I needed to have small amounts (of several varieties) on hand and ground up, ready to go. I started with a little beading kit that was very small plastic vials with caps and all held in a little plastic box. It was very cool looking, and I could just grab the whole box and go.

After discussions here, I decided that even though the small vials stored ground herb for only a week or 2 before I used it up, I should go with glass. I ended up with this:

and I agree on not paying extra for weed-themed storage stuff, not only because it's a waste of money for the purpose they serve, but because that's too cliche and overt for me and my preferences. That's why those simple metal containers were perfect for me - air-tight, light-proof, durable and inconspicuous.

7th floor threw in one of their SSV jars with my da buddha vaporiser purchase.

Yesterday i dropped it onto bricks, about 1.5 metres drop.

it was full of finely chopped herbs and i am so fucking happy the jar didnt break.

It has a nice seal, and is made of very strong glass.

personally for my buds i use a little container with a big rubber seal and a clip on each side to hold the lid on.

It'll hold about 10 grams of ' herbs' .

Yeah I use the smaller versions of these for well ground meds when out & about with my MFLB. They work great.

A bit late getting in this thread, buuuuut i think the post is worth it. Goto Lowes and buy a PVC cap and plug of the same size. Any size. 50 cents to 3 bucks per container. Note i only use this for (very) short term storage. Typically i'll keep a small mason jar or a baby food jar full of some ground greens... then some goes into my fine grinder, filling up a 3/4" cap/plug combo, and into my pocket next to the Launch Box. This keeps me nice and slappy for a week or so. Keeps the air content minimal...

Airtight, lightproof, discrete, fairly pocketproof, hackable, and, well... cheap. Albeit somewhat controversial, being pvc and all.

I like mason jars the best. They absolutely seal. Zero doubt seal. I can buy a flat of them for $12. Hard to beat that price. How do they look? Well, if what you have inside of them is wonderful, that's what you are looking at. So they look fantastic at my place!

P.S. They make all kind of sizes too. I even have little tiny small ones that hold about 1/4 zip.
