I soaked my Ti parts in 91% for a few days. Removed the parts to brush off and clean w water and when I touched the screen with a brush it fell out.

Is the chamber now toast and I just need to order a replacement? I am a bit aggravated at this. Please advise....
The Chamber screen is not welded in place and can be removed from the chamber for deep cleaning. Your chamber and screen are fine and the screen can be re-inserted into the chamber.

Please advise as to the correct orientation of the chamber screen tabs when it needs to be reinserted into the chamber? Mine came out yesterday during cleaning. I had thought wrongly that this screen was tack welded to the chamber?
Either direction should work. The chamber screen comes set in the chamber with the 3x tabs/little legs on the screen facing out towards the larger opening of the chamber, where you put your material, not the end of the chamber that connects to the stem.

The chamber screen is held in place via friction fit. If need be, you can flatten the 3x tabs/legs on the screen and re-insert the screen into the chamber. This will give it a better grip and tighter fit inside the chamber.

We will be adding the Convector replacement chamber screens to the website soon.

Good to know I have not trashed my heating chamber.

So my hot OG SS cap fell on some polyester carpet and got gored to death some time ago, and I finally got around to replacing it with a titanium cap. Just fitted the titanium cap to my OG SS bowl and had my first go, and I immediately noticed that the signature felt a little different than I remembered, a little less heady.

This just got me thinking and curious: for those who have both SS and titanium bowls and caps, have you ever experimented with different combinations of cap and bowl? Have you ever noticed any noteworthy differences in the thermal properties / flavors / signature?

My Titanium Convector is getting regular usage a.t.m. with a vaphit glass stem. Really light weight and once you've mastered the learning curve its a dream with my YLL 2.0.

One thing that bothered me, is the lackluster uniformity in roasting the herbs in the lower parts of the chamber. While the upper parts are already dark and roasty the lower parts aren't. So I've inserted the screen about halfway. It's not a really tight fit, so you have to be careful, but now the bowl is brown and spend from top to bottom. No danger of combusting.
But due to the construction of the screen (a little wieder than be standard dyna screen) and no availability as a spare part in Europe, I'm searching for a solution to fix the screen in this position. Like a small ring underneath, that will held it in its position, while keeping the good airflow.

Maybe something like these? (Nb, these with great as Half Bowl converters for Dynavap. They do loads of variants, so I'm sure you'll find something that fits better)
Good idea, i like the Hardware-Store-fix approach :D, especially as i couldn't find anything like the converter from sneaky pete (thanks @budski) here in the usual european shops.

Hi I was wondering if these fit in the regular dynastash?

Hey there,
I've been using and enjoying the convector XL for some time now, combined with the inductor. It's a duo full of charm and potential.
I like the wide bowl and the cap, which make extraction easier and more homogeneous although I train hard and I'm still working on my drawing technique so that to get the bottom of the bowl as roasted as the top.
I also like the pronounced flavors, even at high temperatures. The stem can quickly become hot, but I have the impression that it also contributes to the good restitution of flavors.

The inductor is very nice and works with almost all my devices. Thanks @Camouflet

Here's an excellent demo video on how to get the most from your Convector using a torch lighter.
Heat the tip of the Camo cap, where the heater plates are located, with your torch lighter while rotating the Convector in a fast and steady motion. Move the flame towards the air intake holes while rotating as seen in the video. This will spread the heat evenly throughout the heater plates resulting in perfect extraction.

Ordered the titanium convector earlier this week, any tips for using the wand with it?

Heating the Convector with the wand:
  • You only want to heat the heater plates inside the cap, not the whole chamber. Turn the wand on, insert the Convector Titanium at an ANGLE to the depth of where it engages the wand coil and starts blinking yellow, NOT ANY DEEPER!
  • Cold start, first draw was heated for 14x yellow light blinks in the wand. Second draw was heated for 9x blinks, and third draw was heated for 9x blinks. Start here and adjust timing and length of heating to your preference.
  • Medium, to coarse grind is best for max airflow. Fine grind or whole buds work well but require more attention to draw speed and technique. You can also do concentrate/extracts/kief top ups or sandwiches. The Convector is great for traditional hash as well.
  • Lightly fill the chamber 3/4 full with desired material; the Convector works well with dry herbs, extracts and concentrates. Gently tap the side of the unit while filling to avoid any tamping. DO NOT PACK THE CHAMBER TIGHT. Smaller loads will require more heating as the load will be further from the heating plates. It’s recommended to cover the entire surface area of the chamber screen to apply proper convection delivery, otherwise extraction will be much slower and inefficient.
  • To apply the cap onto the chamber, simply hold the Convector upright and tilt the cap allowing the fins to touch the chamber’s edge. Hold the device still and rotate the cap onto the chamber.
  • Hold the Convector upright and/or horizontally while heating. Heating the cap with the device upside down will spread heat to undesirable locations.
  • Heating with wand: Insert the tip of the Convector until red lights turn to yellow and induction is engaged. Cold start/First draw will require lengthier heating times, subsequent draws require shorter heating times.
  • Heating with torch lighter: Point the flame at the tip of the cap while rotating. If pointed lower on the cap and chamber area, heat will spread to undesired locations affecting convection delivery. Resulting in a hybrid and more conduction based experience, which some people may prefer. Pointing the flame lower on the cap and chamber area has a much higher risk of combustion and entails a steeper learning curve.
  • Heat “Just the Tip!”
  • Steady and smooth inhale for optimal extraction.
  • If the stem feels hot to the touch after drawing, slow down your draw speed.
  • You can reheat the cap as soon as you like to continue your session.
  • The cap cools down fairly quickly after heating, rest it on a magnet or blow on the cap to speed up cool down.
  • We recommend removing the ceramic cooling tube for maximum airflow when using the Convector with a water piece. You can also apply slightly longer heat times when using a water piece.
  • Pay attention to the wand battery life when using the wand. The lower the battery level the less power it will output and will require longer heating times.
Pro tip: Once you're familiar with timing etc, you can insert the Camo Cap all the way into the coil for the final 1-2 blinks for an extra heat boost.

Hi all, just wondering if anyone could confirm the diameter of titanium Convector cap for me? I have a customer who'd like one of my cooling stands sized for it. Thanks in advance ✌
