We had a lovely roast goose dinner here, and invited our new neighbours over, for a grand total of 5 people.
The highlight of the day, which I didn't mention to anyone, was bottling some port! We (me) decided to fortify the port with some orange brandy... but 4 lucky bottles got their labels put on askew, and now have a lovely hand-written S in front of the Port part, so now it's called Sport. There is a good reason for this... in that each of the 4 special bottles was also infused with ~10 grams equiv of FECO.
It's been aging for about 18 hours now, so we'll be testing a bottle tomorrow, because life is too short for too much aging. Not in this age of instant gratification...
Has anyone tried this before? I did do a bit of searching, but 'infusing homemade port with FECO' turned up surprisingly few results!
