Yes. If there wasn't saw dust and God knows what else mixed in totally e second rule.

I've used all the best grinders and keep coming back to the bcg so I finally pulled the trigger on a ss a few months ago. Am I looking at a 6 month wait?

Seems like the wait time for the polished stainless was the longest, but they’ve stopped making it because of the long lead time.
My guess is it will take longer than the time they quoted you by at least a few weeks, but it won’t be 6 months.

My ss medium arrived in the mail today. It's great. Such a pleasure to use and feels so premium. Out of all my grinders I always come back to the bcg. It's just perfect. Didn't feel like the wait was too long either. Ordered black Friday.

This thing seems like it will last a lifetime. This could be it...

Received my SS this week (also purchased on Black Friday). Just cleaned it and stoked to try it for the first time. I don't think I'll ever look for another again.

My SS arrived, too! (Black Friday purchase!) Do you or anyone else have any suggestions for how to do the first cleaning? Thank you, and enjoy!
I do a little bit of iso in the cup, swirl it around, then dump it into the upside down head, getting around all the teeth. For the plate, iso in the corner of a baggie and spin the plate while in there to cover everything. Rinse all with hot water as you dump the iso. Let air dry and the edge of a paper towel can go under the plastic ring to absorb with some passes. Toothbrush to aid after it’s been through some use next time ;):peace:

I don't think a first cleaning is necessary personally because I asked them in the past about their process and they do do a full cleaning themselves, ultrasonic etc. before shipping so I think it's actually pureer than anything I would end up doing myself lol

I'd still remove all seals and iso soak. You could also grind some rice before that to help remove any possible residue on the teeth.

And iso evaporates quickly so should dry in little time.

I would not remove the Teflon seal. Some isopropyl alcohol won't hurt it and I think the less you mess with it the better.

I don't think I would put rice through it either but it is probably harmless.

I didn't clean mine. Was going to take a swab with iso but I assumed bcg cleaned it from the factory and I just wanted to get right to it. Great bcg grind. Maybe I'll give it a bath in a year or so. Don't thing these things ever have to be cleaned. I think I've cleaned my large twice in 3 years only for cosmetic reasons. Worked fine even when she's filthy.

Thanks for the fantastic, detailed instructions! This is very helpful! Is there any reason not to place each of the three parts of the BCG into the baggie of iso one at a time for cleaning in the same way you describe doing so with the plate? Many thanks!

I've soaked all the pieces in 99% iso, for as long as 30 minutes. Light brushing, then a soapy water dunk before water rinse.
I don't ever take the "ring" off. So far, so good, for a couple of years.
