Yes they've always used chit chats since I've been ordering, never had a problem with any of my orders going from them in Canada to me in California though it does take some time and the tracking is not super accurate (perhaps best to not constantly check and just be pleasantly surprised someday lol)

Yeah, I meant like a new option at the top end of the price spectrum. It could be that they're introducing operational efficiencies by dropping their most difficult and time-consuming product (likely improving production capacity), or they could be working toward some kind of new SS version; IDK, just spitballing.

Anyone else order a SS BCG around 4/20? I ended up snagging one because I’ve been eyeing it for a few years now and can’t wait to have probably the best grinder on the planet that will last a lifetime.

On the order confirmation email I received it said due to high demand, expect to see your order ship 6-8 weeks from the day of purchase. I’m currently in week 8 now without any notice. Hopefully I see something pop in my email from them soon. Should I reach out? Anyone else in a similar situation?

Takes awhile but they’ll get it to you. And worth the wait, extra patience needed but it’s like a little unexpected surprise when it finally shows.

My seconds was fast. The first was not a seconds and took about 10 weeks, so long I forgot about it and one day it just showed up.

I'm in the exact same position

I emailed them last week, to add a Fine grinder plate to my order, and they responded quickly, and even offered the same discount I got during their 4/20 sale.

I'm in week 7 of waiting now. But I bet they had a LOT of orders during their sales period. It'll get here eventually :-)

I ordered SS BCG with all 3 plates on 4/11. It just arrived yesterday. I emailed them last week just to confirm status (it was 2 days short of 9 weeks) and they responded by that evening (would say response would be "within 24 hours"). I got my shipping notice the very next day.

I have an aluminum BCG w/3 plates as well - very well made grinder!

Similar situation for me - ordered around 4/20 but reached out to check status recently. Kathleen was great and updated me, providing a tracking and shipping notification. They have been super responsive in the past with my inquiries. Very impressed.

Just wanted to give an update on my last post, I received my SS BCG, it is a factory second but it took time because I added a medium plate (the factory seconds only had fine plate avail when I ordered). It took more than a month to get there and I had to pay 30€ of customs fees.
I see no defect on the factory second (maybe it is about the tolerances, it has more play than my other SS grinders).
I really love the quick connect design, worth the wait. I'll probably grab another one when they do more factory seconds.

Dumb question, but for people who are picking up SS factory seconds - are you just checking and refreshing the factory seconds page all the time? It seems like they're a rarity, and IDK if there's a more practical way to keep an eye out for them when they pop up.

All BCG have plenty of play, that is part of the design, with the side teeth in the lid, to prevent it from ever locking up on you

got lucky I think there was a post on vaporents or something and they went super fast but I was able to get one (not with the plate I wanted tho)
I sent an email to BCG earlier today asking if they'd do more factory seconds SS and their answer was:

We may have more factory second grinders as we go through new batches of parts. Availability depends on what parts happen to come up. I'll note down to let you know if we add more stainless steel factory second grinders to the website

The polished SS landed today, it’s an impressive unit! The finish is gorgeous, the heft is nice, operation is as BCG as always. The wait was worth it, I hope they do release some more shiny ones in the future.

My only minor complaint is the flat bottom, but I understand why.

After about a year and a half, around 2 uses per week and 3 iso baths... nothing to report...
works like the first day.

I don't regret purchasing this SS version at all....
I really don't think I'll have another grinder in my entire life!
