I usually grind in small amounts, so I’m happy just keeping it in my grinder until it’s empty—I don’t bother dumping it into an airtight container or something like that. I just can’t really scrape any kief off without emptying it, you know?

Yeah I also often will do small amounts, and whatever little kief there is, is saved up for the final bowl, like to get everything out of the grinder I need to shift it all to one side, brush it into the bowl or scoop it up, either way, so yeah I guess I just don't see why there would be a problem with it being empty, to do the scraping, but I digress!

I'm finally going to buy a BCG.
Thanks to Sit Snacks, I know that the medium plate will be the right compromise.
I hesitate now between taking the large or the small BCG.
What draws me to the big one is for its comfort while grinding weed, compared to the smaller one.
I don't use a lot of weed every day, and I wanted to know if you have to put more material in the big one to be effective? On normal days, I should grind between 0.2 and 0.5 grams.
Could the large BCG grind 0.2 as efficiently as the small BCG?

My fear is when choose the big one I would have to grind more lol

I don't own the large bcg but I don't think that would change anything as I regularly put a single nug in my grinder. It doesn't change how they perform, so you could totally put a small amount in a large bcg and still get a consistent grind and the bcg smoothness @Oden. Some people like the silicone/rubber wrist strap thingies on the side of their grinder for extra grip too.

Owning both, unless I plan to grind an amount I know would jam or overflow the regular during loading, I always reach for my regular. The large is definitely nice when you have people over or need to grind a large amount of material, but for daily vaping the regular just feels better in my hand. 100% subjective and YMMV, but bigger is not always better, and there are those who prefer and love their regular size BCGs!

I would not mind replacing my rose gold, but with no clue as to when they will restock, I pulled trigger on SS (my first stainless).

I used to travel with grinders but with flying more and more and most trips under a week, I find I am much better served to pre-grind into airtight Jyarz Classics.

My love for my BCG (and it’s replacement cost) are the reason I never fly with grinders. I used to run 4-5 flights per week and have a pretty good system down, but my Thanksgiving flight back home to a non-legal state was my first in a few months and ended up just grabbing a couple of pens to tide me over.

is it better to get the matte or polished SS grinder? Unfortunately, there is only one picture of the matte one available where you can't really see how it looks like. I think the polished one only looks good when fully cleaned otherwise it might looks really greasy with fingerprints all over.

Its personal preference really. I'm torn on this as well. I think the matte will look better when it isn't spotless. The polished will develop microscratches and such. Certainly the polished looks a treat when at its best, though.

The unknown is whether material will stick to the matte version more. Hypothetically if the surface is thousands of overlapping concave indentations from the bead blasting (the process they use to create the finish) maybe material will more readily get stuck in them? I don't know that anyone can validate that though. None of the other stainless grinders on the market have a similar finish to my knowledge.

Yeah I don't know what the storage bowl means in practice, but I suspect it will be better as well. I can buy the character thing when we're talking patina on leather or brass or something, but I think in this case to me character might just be synonym for, "finish that doesn't age well"

SHINY new looks GREAT…. after time…. I’d be disappointed it didn’t LOOK like it did originally, when NEW.
And POLISHING a grinder, is NOT something I need to add to my ToDo list. Nor does a TOOL like this belong as a display “shelf queen”.

I mean unless you are throwing it against the pavement…a little metal polish and 5 minutes with a rag should polish it up beautifully. I polish my SS exhaust tips on my car every time I wash it, they shine better than new.

Just checked and I got my first BCG in April 2020
just now going to do a first iso soak clean of medium plate
average an OZ of flower a month
pretty good if you ask me

You will have to pay like me almost 50 euros in delivery costs .
I feel a little REKT .
Knowing that I would potentially have to pay customs fees as well.
But everyone here loves their BCG.
And I plan to use it for many years.
So it's definitely worth it even if it's more expensive for us Europeans.

Honestly they want $20 to ship it domestically which is a sticking point for me and I didn't order. Also all the prices went up by $4-5 once the black Friday sale went live, at least for the seconds. I say this understanding they're perfectly fine doing that but it triggers me from my retail time back in the day, not a fan of that strategy.
