Man I hope the colors on the SS are as good, because I really want something with that Amethyst and something with Emerald.
Yeah, I am very curious how they are going to color them. SS is anodized in a much more toxic way compared to aluminum. Could be that they just use heat coloring or maybe a ceramic coating. Either way it's going to be interesting!Man I hope the colors on the SS are as good, because I really want something with that Amethyst and something with Emerald.
My thinking was more along the lines of @Grass Yes, a coating that could be on the exterior surfaces only. I’m in no rush, I won’t ‘need’ a grinder anytime soon.
Well maybe I’ll have to make my own then, I find it hard to believe I’m the only one who would buy a SS colored. That does sound really cool and unique, though I wouldn't count on it, but maybe someday! Colors nearly my favorite part

and just like that, everyone in the thread is planning for yet another brilliant cutYou and @Grass Yes were right apparently! I was just told the stainless steel will be inside of an aluminum shell so it can have the same colors and be a bit more affordable... You guys really called it, I'm very excited now, thinking sapphire outside with that brushed steel inside... They say this will be ready a little after the four-piece, and that they still plan to eventually also release a version that is entirely stainless steel (though I don't believe that one will have colors and it will be much more expensive)
Ah, that's somewhat dissapointing, as the aluminium components will probably prevent us from sticking the grinder in the dishwasher, or PBW for cleaning, which was a big part of the appeal of an SS BCG for me .You and @Grass Yes were right apparently! Oh well, perhaps the aluminum and stainless components can be separated for cleaning?
I'd have been fine with an uncoloured stainless finish but I guess most will want fancy colours as that seems to be a big part of the appeal of the BCG to many (in this thread at least).
I wonder how much more expensive they'll have to make the all SS one?
why you keep your grinder so dirty, bro? clean it from time to time..Well I took a while to actually use my new large BCG from the factory second sale, got regular amethyst, darker than the light amethyst regular BCG I got previously, with a sapphire fine plate (zero imperfections on any piece) shown here with my others, with and without flash, trying to get the lighting, but it does not work so well, the two amethyst look the same in these photos, but they're not, when in person lol
First use with some fresh, beautiful, delicious and aromatic peach dream, I did not grind upside down at all:
Yep, very happy I got this one too!

1.1 year and still going strong!
yeah man I was kidding, mine hasn't been cleaned for monthes except the magnets, lol, I should clean itLOL what? The one in the photo is brand new, that was literally the first time using it, or were you being sarcastic?? Why did I keep it clean, I should use it from time to time??? I'm just confused lol BCG doesn't need cleaning though, I also use a toothpick to poke out the kief every time I use it since I am a little ocd about keeping it clean... Only cleaned my first one after almost 2 years I think? I posted in here earlier, but you didn't quote those photos so I'm just confused
Do they sell replacements for the plastic ring (i think plastic) that goes under the top lip to reduce friction. I find thats the piece that tends to go bad first. Too lazy to read through this all right now to find it, if it was even asked
I find if you want to keep the plastic o-ring lubricated with hemp oil it'll glide beautifully with just a drop. Im not a hundred percent sure but i think it is teflon so doesnt need lubricating.I find if you want to keep the plastic o-ring lubricated with hemp oil it'll glide beautifully with just a drop. The product I use is Lid Lube. www.lidlube.com
