Brilliant Cut Grinder

Man I hope the colors on the SS are as good, because I really want something with that Amethyst and something with Emerald.
Yeah, I am very curious how they are going to color them. SS is anodized in a much more toxic way compared to aluminum. Could be that they just use heat coloring or maybe a ceramic coating. Either way it's going to be interesting!

Edit: @Shit Snacks posted while I was composing. That is an answer I had not considered. A good option though.

Well maybe I’ll have to make my own then, I find it hard to believe I’m the only one who would buy a SS colored.

Don't get me wrong, I want that very much, as I'm sure many others do, I'm just saying that adds a layer of complexity to the build and the product so I wouldn't get your hopes up... At least not for initial launch, I agree it sounds cool, and would prefer to have color steel BCG as well, who knows what we'll get!

My thinking was more along the lines of @Grass Yes, a coating that could be on the exterior surfaces only. I’m in no rush, I won’t ‘need’ a grinder anytime soon.

You and @Grass Yes were right apparently! I was just told the stainless steel will be inside of an aluminum shell so it can have the same colors and be a bit more affordable... You guys really called it, I'm very excited now, thinking sapphire outside with that brushed steel inside... They say this will be ready a little after the four-piece, and that they still plan to eventually also release a version that is entirely stainless steel (though I don't believe that one will have colors and it will be much more expensive)

and just like that, everyone in the thread is planning for yet another brilliant cut

Ah, that's somewhat dissapointing, as the aluminium components will probably prevent us from sticking the grinder in the dishwasher, or PBW for cleaning, which was a big part of the appeal of an SS BCG for me 😕.
Oh well, perhaps the aluminum and stainless components can be separated for cleaning?
I'd have been fine with an uncoloured stainless finish but I guess most will want fancy colours as that seems to be a big part of the appeal of the BCG to many (in this thread at least).
I wonder how much more expensive they'll have to make the all SS one?

Oh, well I only clean a BCG like once every two years, so that has zero appeal for me, also I don't have a dishwasher, but if I did I wouldn't use it for that lol also would not want to use PBW instead of ISO on something like a grinder, remember it still has like magnets and the teflon o-ring thing, I don't know I never like to remove them if possible, I'd be more worried about them in the dishwasher or with some other chemical I don't understand then just iso wash in the rare occasion it is actually needed?

I wouldn't count on that, based off the photo I saw, they look fused together, although the entire inside is going to be stainless steel, so theoretically you could clean the inside differently than the outside if you wanted...?

Yeah I am surprised that they are releasing this one first and making the colors possible this way, I was set for it to be all plain steel, but I love the colors and I really see no disadvantage to having the outside be aluminum, personally, but yeah we don't know the price of it yet so hard to guess what the price on a completely steel one would be, but I think it will come out too...

Well I took a while to actually use my new large BCG from the factory second sale, got regular amethyst, darker than the light amethyst regular BCG I got previously, with a sapphire fine plate (zero imperfections on any piece) shown here with my others, with and without flash, trying to get the lighting, but it does not work so well, the two amethyst look the same in these photos, but they're not, when in person lol

First use with some fresh, beautiful, delicious and aromatic peach dream, I did not grind upside down at all:

Yep, very happy I got this one too!

LOL what? The one in the photo is brand new, that was literally the first time using it, or were you being sarcastic?? Why did I keep it clean, I should use it from time to time??? I'm just confused lol BCG doesn't need cleaning though, I also use a toothpick to poke out the kief every time I use it since I am a little ocd about keeping it clean... Only cleaned my first one after almost 2 years I think? I posted in here earlier, but you didn't quote those photos so I'm just confused

Do they sell replacements for the plastic ring (i think plastic) that goes under the top lip to reduce friction. I find thats the piece that tends to go bad first. Too lazy to read through this all right now to find it, if it was even asked

It is a good question, I'm careful never to remove mine and I make sure they see minimal iso like the rest of my BCG (so only ever fully cleaned my first one once lol) Anyway I am pretty sure it is Teflon plastic so it does last longer, but you should hit them up and see if they can send you some spares! Not sure it's come up here before

I find if you want to keep the plastic o-ring lubricated with hemp oil it'll glide beautifully with just a drop. The product I use is Lid Lube. www.lidlube.com

I started out with a medium plate and it worked fine, but when the flower is dry it made it too fine. Purchased a coarse plate recently, and it seems to be working much better for me. I may be losing a little efficiency but the flavor is excellent and it doesn't pack my ELB nearly as much so the flow is better.
