Boundless Tera

I have A Tera V3 since June. After A week the rubber will not hold the mouthpiece screen. The camber screen will always fall out. After A few months the upper part of the bowl will begin to chip and, Crack. With heavy usage the top part of the vape (plastic led fixture) will fall off because, The four screws that connect led power fixture to the base are positioned around the bowl. The plastic and glass mouthpiece are shit. Well can use the plastic mouthpiece if you change the mouthpiece tip to A Boundless CFV tip ( the short tip gets to hot ). You will nerver get the correct battery percentage.

@Rlegend - this is totally opposite to my experience with the Tera. Please speak to boundless about this. Especially the bit where you mention upper part of bowl starting to chip? As far as I'm aware this is metal and really shouldn't chip. Do you mean the plastic that surrounds it?

I mean this politely, I'm trying to help you out here. I wouldnt let a vape I paid £200 for get in a condition like that without contacting the company I bought it from but then again I really don't know your situation. I know some people just don't use warranty or want to make a fuss. Just like a dj I help regularly by servicing his equipment. He has a £1200 piece of equipment that's 3 months old and has a firmware issue. Keeps trying to get me to look at it but I really can't and don't want to - the company needs to know about this so they can look at their code and figure out if this is just a one off case or if it's happened elsewhere.

I'm pretty sure @Boundless Vape Technology would be interested in your experience.

Hope you get sorted.

The camber screen will always fall out
Replace the Boundless filter disc with a Mighty fine mesh screen will fix that problem, as for the rest...warranty!
I have just checked my unit and also have a hairline crack just above the s/s bowl, in the plastic ring towards the screen end, I can only see it with reading glasses on, but it is there, I will keep an eye on it. Just to let people know, I use mine a lot but never use the concentrate mode.

I have contacted Boundless ( emailed Eric ), Sent pictures, Requested A warranty replacement for my Tera an both of my CFX's. LesPlenty, I do use the S&B chamber reducing screen but, Many times I have had screen fall out ( it you use a debowler, Dumping AVB outside the car ). I did fix that problem with a Dremel an the Vapor Brothers ceramic .625 screen. How, The Tera's bowl has a concave shape at the bottom. I used the Dremel to file the ceramic screen to fit in the bottom And, Put the S&B screen on top. I use A Solo bent stem for my mouthpiece. For my mouthpiece screen, I dremeled down a few ceramic screens to fit in the rubber gaskets stretched out screen holes. Sometimes it will still fall out because, The gasket needs to replaced often. The new CFV gasket has been redesigned, That's one is what the Tera V4 should have with food grade plastic on the top part of the bowl. As on Boundless ( Reddit ) I am not the only one with these Tera V3 problems. Yes, I owned A Tera V2. I was contacted by Boundless/POTV to stop using and returned it.
All that being said, I love my Tera but unless you replace the batteries, Chamber screen, Mouthpiece and, Mouthpiece screen you're not going to what you paid for or, The best out the vape.
Thanks for everyone's help, ( The ideas for the mouthpieces, Batteries, Ceramic screens, S&B chamber screens came from this forum )
Boundless can't continue to sell the V3 because after 6 months, Your bowl will be cracked, Chipped, Flaking and, Your gasket worn out. I have two CFX' s that are a less than A year old. One with a break error (not working) but, Both with heat damage (Cracked plastic case). On my working CFX I use flex tape to keep it together. Also to keep from getting my hands burned.

Now I have to wonder if my unit isn't also starting to deteriorate. I've observed a few spots around the top of the unit in the ring around the mouthpiece area, where the outer ring's coating seems to be flaking off, revealing shiny silver metal underneath.

My unit is still hot so I haven't had the chance to brush out the inside yet, apologies for the mess there! What do you people think, should I be worried about this or is it just cosmetic?

Over the last, I'd say 3-4 months of not too heavy use, I've gone from one little spot to 3, with a couple teensy others starting to appear that don't show up well in the photos I tried to take.

Does it affect the quality of your vapor or how hard it rips?

BigJR48, I love my Tera. But I had A V2 that was unusable. Returned it, With A promise that when Boundless got their stuff together I would be shipped A V3 free of charge. I didn't want my money back. I bought another CFX. In July Eric sent me A Tera V3. But, I have also had two CFX's in warranty repair rotation for over a year. Which means the plastic housing melts around the bowl and cracks the case or, I have break errors ( I have one on my shelf ). When you have to have more than one warranty replacement, It means there is something wrong with your product. If you think about it Boundless is on version 4 of their Tera ( in my correspondence with Boundless I was told the China manufacturer was told the problem). You can't make any money if both of your top products needs to be replaced twice within it's warranty period. I also own a CFV 1 gen, No problems with it ( not including battery life ).
I thought it was me abusing my vapes. I vape an ounce A week. How, No job, I am A service connected veteran. I contacted Boundless an explained my situation, That I vape alot. I asked questions ( Do I have to let it cool down completely ).
I am not the only one Tera issue. A few people posted on Reddit that they have had their Tera V3 replaced three times for cracks in the upper bowl ( The Tera V3 was released in July ). Not to mention the replacements for the CFX's break errors. Some users being satisfied that Boundless let them keep the cracked vape and sent them another one. I can't use the vape if chips of plastic fall into the bowl an mix with my herb, I would have kept the Tera V2.

Australia must be like a third world country, the V2 Tera is still for sale at Australian Vaporizers. I might have to send Eric a picture of my cracked plastic ring above the S/S oven and see what he says. My CF/x still works fine, no problems at all...but it does not get used much anymore.

I bought A Tera V2 when it was first released from POTV. I also live in Detroit. I needed another vape because my CFX battery would die throughout the day of traveling. So I bought A Tera V2 so I would only have to carry one vape with extra batteries. To make it clear I returned the V2 as instructed. Exchanged it for another CFX. In which the CFX I already owned for a three months had heat damage. As soon as I received the the CFX, I did A warranty replacement for my first CFX. In August I had A CFX break error, Did another warranty replacement. As of today both CFX's have heat damage and one has A break error. My Tera's plastic bowl is chipped up and, Held together with super glue.
Maybe I did it. By jamming the solo stem into the vape. Really I am not trying to bash Boundless. This is A forum, I am just sharing my experience with my Boundless vapes. After I have purchased three solo bent stems, four sets of H2's, Charger, S&B screens, Vapor Brothers ceramic screens, Not to mention the V2 I sucked on for two weeks. I would have been better off getting a Mighty, Car charger, Extra wall charger and, A three pack of cooling units.

I stay away from foreign stems/mouthpiece (it may have damaged your plastic)

@Rlegend - sounds to me like you’re shopping in the wrong market. I can’t think of a portable vape I’d expect to stand up to that kind of use over time. Even if you got an iron CFX, the batteries would die before long.

My guess is you’re vaping most, if not all, of that at home and should get a desktop unit. I don’t want to derail this thread, but I recommend an affordable, proven unit, like something from 7th Floor.

Does anyone know or have an opinion on how the Tera is for microdosing or/dealing with vaping small amounts for herb for solo microdosing purposes? If not well should I consider a CFV (version 2 with thee Tera heater and bowl) or a Fury/Grindhouse Shift etc. (anything else)?

Thanks!

Can you use the crafty / mighty glass easy flow mouthpiece with the terra?
Yup. It fits in the place of the plastic mouthpiece. You still have to use the rubber/silicone gasket. It seems to hold in place better than in the crafty/mighty.

@naddude you can use a liquid pad like in the mighty/crafty for load reduction the dosing caps from s&b also fit. Although I sometimes find them difficult to get out of the chamber. I use those dosing caps with a cut down liquid pad on top of 0.05g you'll only get a few good pulls but it's great for keeping consumption down or controlling how medicated you are. Boundless did mention they are developing pods.

Good advice. Question: How does the Tera handle small amounts at low tempos say 1985-195 c. (i.e is it harsh or mellow?) And can you just put small amounts in the chamber without pads or caps?

I run between 190-and 200. I usually enjoy two fillings of the chamber during my sesh. The first run through it takes a few puffs to get it going. Once it gets going it stays going and pumps out the clouds. That second filling is super nice.
I load about .2 and above. I think if you use a very small amount you are going to want to fill that extra space up with something like a pad.

Aquired a boundless tera in a swap. After a while i realised it was missing two screws out of the bottom plate. There was a 2 mm gap on 1 side of the bottom plate. Had a look and the posts the screws drill in to had broken.

Reached out to @Boundless Vape Technology - Eric. A replacement was sent out straight away. Was not expecting that for a 2nd hand unit.

Great customer sercice. Very happy.

I have now had a Tera for about 4 days. My observations are that it can handle small quantities of material really well. It can even vape on low temps. However my biggest complaint is the the terrible bitter electronic taste. It got better but even with the glass mouthpiece I can taste it. Sadly if it does not go away I will have to get rid of it and switch to something with more pure vapour path like a Davinci or something. Does this bad taste ever go away? BTW I did about 10 burnoffs and cleaned the unit and mouthpieces several times.
