Boundless CF / CFX / CF-Hybrid

For what it's worth, I did read in the CF user manual that, "Low battery level will be indicated with all 5 LEDs flashing 6 times repeatedly." pg. 13

.

I found that when all 6 of my lights or 5 lights started blinking it was too late..the battery was dead..that indicates it needed to be charged.

Yeah the only time I got the flashing lights it wouldn't vape any further til charged..

Come on @Boundless Vape Technology get this adjusted to blink a little sooner than the dead stage and I'm in for the CF.
Better yet, 5 lights could show 5 battery levels!
And if you could turn off or time out the light on the CFX and it will be a winner too.
Great looking progress, keep up the good work.

+1 battery indication on the CF just maybe a blink 1-5 on turning on.

If you have a stealth mode where i can turn off the Huge LED screen on the CFX i would probably purchase one as i like my CF alot.

Yeah, that should also benefit battery runtime greatly..as Eric said CF and CFX are about the same at runtime. So the LED would draw about 50% that could be used to heating instead.. If I got it right?

The battery life being pretty much the same the oven the same. Only thing you really miss out on the CFX is the extra 15 degreess. I had a bit of buyers remorse when it was shipping to me about maybe I made the wrong choice. After using the CF I think I made the right choice for me, a bit smaller so it can fit in my pocket np. Stealth as well the screen is kinda cool but I just didn't need it or want it for stealth reasons.

As an aside this is an idiot proof vape you don't have to explain how to use it or special technique anyone can get a nice hit from it!

My CFX is here and charging. I don't remember being this excited about another vape. Have others posted about it's size? It'S very solid, heavy and looks well built. But it is the largest vape I own. The Daisy, which is on loan, was large but not as heavy. Not a problem for me because I don't carry my vapes around but the CF must be much smaller if it fits into pockets.
Will post more after it's charged and I figure it out.

Very hot charging when plugged into the wall. Now charging via USB and no heat- presuming it's actually charging.

True! I think it's funny when I hand it to someone and they say 'what do I do?'

I just say 'suck on it!'

So many of my other vapes i have to teach people. Even my pax 2 i had to regulate my draw slowly to get best results and not overpower the heater. I would have a freind say im not getting anything then i take the pax and get a huge cloud.
With the CF i was drawing slowly at first as im used to and it works great. Then i started experimenting with diffrent draw speed and i cant find a bad way to draw from the CF. Longer draw = more vapor and it really seems to keep pace with you, you never overpower the heater.
The airflow is really nice fairly open compared to some, but not too much airflow either its a nice balance.
Medium long draw i seem to like best overall, but each person may have different preferences and i doubt they will be dissapointed. I have shared this vape with a few non vapers and they pick it up instantly no learning curve, very good vape to share in a party situation.

That was my problem with my FW3. I used it for two weeks and never got the technique down. I just sold it after that. I love how simple the cfx is to use.

I'm a vape jinx. Cannot get this to turn on even though it's charged. I had the same problem with the Zion so it must be me and not the CFX.

Yeah, the five clicks have to be fairly fast. If you miss the rhythm, you might have to start over...

I think I might have it. Foolproof only works for those with a tiny bit of technical capacity in their brain.

Hi Oblivious sheep, Welcome to FC

I use the extreme Q screen with no problems, if you want it to stay attached to the mouth piece, like shown in some of the photos posted in this thread, then you need to form it around the ridge below where the existing screen was originally attached.

To clean my screen i just place it it over the gas hob with tweezers then clean it with water. Cleans it like new and restores any restriction produced from the resin build up.
I just got mine in, and maybe I'm just dumb, but I'm not seeing how I could get it to stay. It seems pretty loose on there.

Also, I read something about the temperature being in Fahrenheit or Celsius, but not being able to change it right now. Is that true? Because mine is in Celsius, and I'd rather have it be in Fahrenheit

Edit: Jk figured it out. You hold the increase and decrease buttons to change the unit.

More questions- hope that it's ok as I try to work it out. I think some things that are self evident to most people confuse me.

Answer First it does switch from Farenheit to Celsius. Mine came in Celsius and I switched it to Farenheit. Press the up and down button at the same time.

Question: What is the screen that comes with it? Is it visible? I tried 1 tiny load since I microdose. Some of it came up into my mouth. There was no ABV just a tiny bit left that was still pretty light.

Question: This has the most difficult draw of any vape I've tried and no one has reported this so I must be doing something wrong. The mouthpiece itself when not attached is very difficult to draw through. Also I'm not really getting clouds or even vapor. Just again, a bit of green when I open and look inside. Any ideas?

Question: Water- I see that people are using some adaptors to connect to water. I can't see how either the EQ screens from Ddave's mods will stick in there. Same for keeping an adaptor attached. I have an UD gong and am going to try it to see how I can keep it in.

I can take pictures later to help more. But the part of the mouthpiece that swivels and you inhale from pops right off (is designed to do so) and an UD NoNg fits right in there. Not sure about the glass gongs, doubt it would be easy to work with. If you're packing weed and at a normal temp and getting no clouds then there is something wrong with the device. The draw is somewhat restricted especially with a tight pack but not enough to be a serious issue. Basically I would suggest working with it for a few hours to see if it's possible user error is the issue, and when user error has been ruled out then just trade it with Boundless. They are great with CS and want every customer to be happy.

Still working with it. So far haven't found anything that will fit to adapt for water but I think I have a song somewhere from UD. Still no clouds. I probably missed a post on this but what is the temp that you are using in F?

I use 445 temp because I mostly use it through water pipes but you should be able to get a good amount of vapor above 390 with ease.
Remember this is a conduction-based vaporizer so if you aren't pleased with the cloud production try a slightly packed-down, evenly packed bowl of about .25 grams. The vape can use less than that but all conduction vaporizers work better with a solid-sized load. Try turning the temp somewhere you like above 400, packing the bowl reasonably tight and taking a few long draws once it is up to temp. You should start to get clouds pretty much right away, even without any mods at all.

Im using 380 with good flavor and good vapor. Not super thick clouds that look like smoke, but still decent clouds.

Is the CF bigger or comparable in size versus the Alfa?

This one interest me more than the CFX cause, after vapor quality/quantity, the stealth factor is very important for me.

A shame I can't afford to buy all this nice vapes!

Hello.
I would like to thank Eric and Boundless for getting me my replacement unit.
Recently I scooped up a sidekick w/ a bubbler mouthpiece.
...while I'm not a fan of the sidekick it was frustrating to see the water tool go unused...so...

..this is the mouthpiece...the tail tube sits firmly in place in the cfx m.p. hole...I mean perfectly..it slides in and then almost clicks in beneath...I pushed it thru so it barely touches the evo screen that now goes over it...on the top side I slid a heatpost grommet from my underdog.

...this mouthpiece makes a perfect seal and is very portable and very effective.
Thanks again Boundless.

My questions have probably been answered, but although I've followed this entire thread I can't recall the answers. I've also tried the search function, but to no avail, and I emailed Boundless last night with a couple of these questions, but I'm too impatient to wait for a reply. So, maybe I can get some input here(?).

1) If I recall correctly, CFX has both DC and USB charging. Is this true for the CF also?
2) How long does the CF take to charge fully?
3) Will the CF work well (at least moderate clouds), regardless of the amount of material?
4) Does the CF vapor temperature/harshness compare favorably to the ESV? (I like my ESV, but it's at the top end of my limit)
5) I believe I've seen only one report of a defective CF. Is that correct, as far as reported?
6) Is the CF as easy to operate as it appears, so that a novice vaper can use it successfully?

TIA for any input!
