Boundless CF / CFX / CF-Hybrid

My CF-Hybrid just got here at the same time as my Tera and a couple of 510 vapes. so I have been spreading the love and I have not spent too much time with the Hybrid yet, but I see it fitting into my vape style/rotation.

I can't understand why this was not marketed with "1-degree temperature selectable and user replaceable 18650 vape" as Primary features.

Especially now that so many new choices for 510 atomizers are available the Hybrid should be looked at as a single device with multiple uses. And, marketed as such.

Aluminum.

I know this is an old topic but I couldnt really find an answer. Does the vapor path touch in the CFX touch aluminum at all, or is it just stainless steal, ceramic, and then the plastic mouth piece? I couldnt really tell from puff it ups tear down.

I am giving a demonstration of my three vaporizers to a couple friends next week. I've had the CFX for about a year, but haven't used it for over 6 months. I ran a few bowls through both type pods I have.

I finally got into sync with the CFX. I use it at 180c-210c instead of my normal 165c-195c. I also took shorter draws to keep the mouthpiece cooler. I'd like to work it back into my routine by taking 5 minute vaping breaks in the garage. The pods make it very easy with minimal cleaning.

Hey all. New to the forum, I've been a lurker for awhile but this is my first post.

I'm tired of all the coughing, t's time for my first vape. I tried a friend's Pax several years ago but it never really did much for me. I searched around quite a bit and ended up here. It took me a few days but I made it through this entire thread.

My wife and I will be sharing it. We're new to vaping so we want best value, not necessarily top of the line. We'll be using it mostly around the house but also for more stealthy hits when we're traveling. (holidays coming up, we're not in a friendly state) Homegrown organic flowers, some medicinal, some recreational. She's not into 'gadgets' so simplicity is high on my list. She calls me a 'bull in a china shop' so durability and manufacturer customer service are also high on my list.

I think the CFX checks all my boxes. Am I missing anything? Does this sound like a good fit for my/our needs? I'm planning on buying the WPA since we've got some glass. I'm assuming we'll enjoy vaping more than smoking and we'll need another very soon but just going to start with one for now.

I like ordering direct from the manufacturer when I can in case I need warranty work. OTOH, I've read nothing but great reviews about PIU. I'll also need a bag of some sort. And the only place I can find ELBs available is direct from vapexhale.

Anyway, thanks in advance for all replies! And thanks to all who have contributed to this thread and this entire forum! It's a wealth of knowledge and information!

Welcome to the Forum.
I would get a Tera over a CF/x, I have both(and a couple others) The Tera got a bad rap early on but the latest V3 is great, it even comes with a WPA as standard.
I took the Tera to a 50th birthday party mated to my D020-d knock off and it blew everyone away that used it, they all could not believe how good it tasted(they were all rednecks so did not know about vaping) One guy said after pulling, I can't really feel it, blue vapor was pouring out as he was talking, he then had a little cough and a stumble then said...FUCK!
I really like Ed's stem as an option for it later on, you can just pack his curved screen in the stem for microdoses, or pack the Tera as normal or do what I do and pack both for a macro dose. I can use Ed's stem on flat out (220C) and it is still ok for heat, not as easy as a bong, but still good!

Tera Link for US$162(less than a CF/x from Boundless direct) with free international shipping, just ask for the V3 and use code SALE20 in the checkout;

Thanks. Why is the Tera better for my situation? Not that it's difficult to use but it seems more complex than the CFX. (my wife prefers simple--hmm...maybe that's why she's with me!) The removable batteries are a huge plus, though.

It has the same interface as the CF/x, 3 buttons, so the same to use. Also, a smaller screen to save battery power(the CF/x screen is a power hog) it has better flavor, more power, easier draw, a stainless oven (the CF/x oven gets nasty after a while, even with the basket mod) and comes with 2x different mouthpieces(one glass for nice flavor) and a WPA as standard. It is only more complex as it has a concentrate mode that boosts the temperature to 260C if needed. Also, as you said, it has easy swap out batteries (18650) so when the CF/x is flat, your fun is over, Tera, 5-second battery change and away you go.
Edit; The Teta is not made of the cheap feeling plastic like the CF/x (S&B Mighty is same shitty feeling plastic)

Edit; Also magnetic mouthpieces on the Tera so no twist tabs to break.

Well I've owned 4 CFX units! All warranty replacement! The plastics are very low quality! They all crack at some point without ever dropping the unit. They all develop the BREAK issue. Warranty is top notch though! I'll be selling my replacement unit when I get it

You are either unlucky or hard on gear (I know I can be)! I have not had a bit of trouble with mine and when it is used(rarely nowadays) it is flat out on a bong! I really like the concentrate s/s cup that comes with the CF/x, easy to keep things clean.

I have only heard this about the Vivant Alternate, not the CF/x.:myday:

Just ordered me a CFX for $140 cdn black friday deal! Added on a sneaky pete water piece. Can't wait.

I wanted a nice compliment to my MV1 and Extreme-Q w/ddave mod. Just need a nice concentrates piece (SAI maybe?) and I'll be all set.

Yeah sai would be nice to the lineup , topflow , ti bucket would fit in your collection nicely . Seriously try out the concentrate cup with CFx though you might be surprised . A little dab on some cotton in there actually performs better than any of my other herb vapes including mighty, haze v3 and ff2 imho . The oven really cooks and hits hard with concentrates

Thanks for the tips! I'd read that the CFX is good for concentrates and the MV1 does pretty well with them, so I'm not gonna rush out for an SAI any time soon. Blew my budget at this point anyways lol.
Nope, looks cheap and nasty.

The same price as a Tera V3 from Puffitup, the CF/x is prehistoric compared but at least it has a nice concentrate cup, the Tera concentrate pad is pretty useless.:myday:
Ah that $140 I posted was canadian from a canadian retailer with free shipping, so the Puffitup price of $110 on the CFX after discount works out to $143.65 canadian plus shipping and duty.

As far as the Tera goes, I've got my convection beast in the Ghost, so personally I'm good on convection for my solo use and was only in the market for more of a reliable cloud heavy conduction vape for sharing with friends and using a water bong attachment. That and after currency conversion, the Tera is a fair amount more than the CFX and was $185 canadian on sale from the same retailer I ordered my CFX from.

My V3 gets used...a lot, my CF/x, not so much, just with the concentrate can occasionally.
The V3 are really good buying if you shop around ATM.

The Tera taste is convection heavy for great taste, the CF-x is more conduction based and IMO taste is not as good (same with the Mighty)
The Tera takes more work to get vapor than a CF-x or Mighty as the user has to pull the hot air through the load to vaporize the material.
I find the Tera is similar in taste profile to the Plenty(if used without the s/s coil) once you get rid of the manufacturing smell (just wash what you can and leave it all sitting in the sun to cure it all)
