For the wax, I always do the 4th setting and once the light turns solid (takes about 50 seconds from cold start), I give it another 10-15 seconds before I hit it. It works the best that way. I use a single dab at a time which gives plenty of session time for me.

It has 18650 batteries in it. They are larger than AA batteries in size. You can buy them online from any marketplace. I am not sure if they are using any modifications to the battery internally though. I personally do not risk it but you can certainly try.

Wow haze really is a great company for doing this I don't know of any other vaporizer company's that would give us upgrades like this.
I guess my only question for @Haze Vaporizers is since I already got the V2.5 on the way would I just wait and sign up for this program once you release a new model or is this a limited time thing that we need to sign up for within a certain amount of time.

Thank you for the questions. This is not a limited time program. If you already have the latest 2.5 version, I would recommend waiting for the next release. You do not need to enroll right now. Any Haze owner who has earlier version can take advantage of this now.

Had the pleasure of a package gracing my door step early today, and in that package was an awesome looking green haze V2.5. I proceeded to gleefully sprint to the living room and cleared off my coffee table.
I slowly lifted the lid expecting fog to start rolling out and running with the devil to start playing. Lol
After No fog or van halen I picked up the haze and was impressed by its size. I was expecting it to be much larger than it actually was. It fits nicely in the palm and is comfortable to hold.
I thought the battery door latch was sufficient and it seemed to shut tightly especially with a battery in it.
I also thought the main loading hatch door was sufficient, not to say that it couldn't be perfected but I don't see it coming open in my pocket or anything, but time will tell.
The only criticism I have with just looking over the device (and I only say it so haze can improve future models) would be if there was a little less wiggle in the battery latch and the main Camber's hatch.
They both wiggle a little when between the closed and fully open positions.
But this is something I'm really just reaching for and is a miniscule detail that most probably wouldn't even notice.
I give it a 9/10 for looks, feel, size and creativity.

PERFORMANCE:
Let me start by saying I love to feel a good throat hit. I love when I hit my EV-2 cause when I rip it I feel like I just hit a blunt. I know some people dont worry about that, but that's what I always find myself chasing personally.
I wasn't expecting to cough from the haze I figured I'd get some decent vapor but I didn't expect it to be anywhere close the the EV-2
Wow was I wrong. For how little this thing is you wouldn't think i t could knock you on your ass but it does lol.
I loaded the herb in cans, I like the concept of having preloaded cans so I don't even plan on using the screens, I might try them down the road but I had great results with the cans.
1st can I packed tight so that the silicone lid pushed the herb down a little.
Other can I packed a little looser so that the silicone lid just sealed what I put in there, it didn't aid in packing.

I started the 1st can on the first temp setting 365°
And started to draw after the short warm up time (under one min)
The draw on the tightly packed can was slightly more restrictive than the draw on the loosely packed one but it was by no means overly restrictive. I actually thought it was perfect cause it dident allow me to over draw and cool down the load too much.
As for the throat hit I'm always chasing, it was there and in your face lol
I was coughing a lot, first 2 hits were wispy full flavor visable vapor and every hit after that was still tasty and the vapor production really starts to ramp up lol. I blow just as big of clouds with my EV-2 I just have to draw a little longer on the haze to get that effect.
Once you hit temp two its a fog machine lol I didn't really even feel the need to go to 3 but I did just for shits and gigs and she kept on going lol
So far I can say I'm quite happy with my purchase and the level of customer service over at haze.
I feel like I got something that will last a long time and will help me quit smoking for good.

Yeah I myself love the green color which may Dad owns. The build quality on Haze constantly improved from the original version to the V2.5 current version and they listen to every feedback from users like us which is great. The new temp settings are also a great change from the original version. Thank you for sharing your feedback.

@ryfle , with shatter/wax , it dissolves the dab immediately after initial heat up and the natural color will turn dark after the first session but I never waste anything and keep on vaping in few sessions until all my material is consumed. Sometimes, i vape a session and put it down. When I get back, I start at low setting to soften the can content and I start increasing the temperature. Your THC is not all consumed. You can tell by the taste and how well you are medicated. On the other hand, I never do more than 1-2 dabs at a time if I am at home.

After a week with the Haze I am pretty disappointed in the clouds I get. Vapor is cool and tastes descent but no where near the lung busting I get from my Pinnacle Pro. I do have the 2.5

O.k. I have a few things to say here. Now I am going off the cuff here but when some of the people come to this thread and make statements like " no clouds" "thin vapor" or things eluding to that I notice a couple of things. First off they usually compare it to another unit that does not take much time to find the sweet spot or they have not had much experience with the whole process behind vaporizing.
Most of us who do can most likely all agree it is more then just load it up and hit it. For some of you newer members or vaporists it's like this, just because you have a race car does not mean you can race, will be fast or even finish the race. It takes preparation, testing, observation and trial and error.

For vapor density, I have been able to consistently pull dense thick clouds off of my Haze. Now do I get many multiple draws off of that same can I have been hitting heavy ....... no because It almost all goes into my lovely lungs for my monster draws. I have also let other experienced smokers, vaporists and people that have been involved in the the herbal lifestyle try the Haze too.
All of us at any time could draw up lung drop kickers! My vapor from this has been just as thick as many $500 dollar plug ins. Keep in mind this is with the cans and the 2.0 Haze, move to the screens and you can achieve even better vapor!!
I mean from chill to strait illin in no time, coughing and drooling all over ourselves from a good nice hit off of the Haze. I am going out on a limb here and only three things come to mind at the moment for problems.
1. battery issues 2. Unit/Haze issues or 3. prep/technique.

What is this talk about the vapor was "cool" this is not a bad thing it is one of the perks of vaporization newer people not a disadvantage as it seems to be portrayed in some of the responses. For the taste train (and this works for all ways) it is all in how clean your Haze is and if your product is of a tasty nature and good quality. You can't eek out flavor that is not around to begin with or that has to fight with a dirty AP. I also realize that most of us do not put much thought into what we may have eaten or had on our mouths before hand, this can mess with taste BIG time. I just have found out that if you want the best out of something it is best to be about it on all fronts and come with it a 100%.

I encourage ALL new comers to the HAZE to read this whole thread entirely it has been a great place for me to learn all about it and the people behind this great company.

Sticky/cleaning/clean up. I do not see how it is soooooooo messy. Concentrates all but disappear in my cans with less cleaning to do then after a few runs of dry herb in them. Now, if you want to clean a bit after the fact load a can with some trate and herbs this combination seems to get gummy. Guess what, it still is easy to deal with and far faster then the time it took for me to gut my blunts, grind my flowers, roll it up and find a politically correct place to smoke it. If one does not maintain the initial state of something (clean/new/charged) then how are you ever going to attain that level again without maintenance. Just a thought from my brain out to yours all! Remember, the more you know & cheers!!!!

Update: I also wanted to add that I always do the dry finger wipe on my stainless lids. The finger glides over the hot metal and residue very easily this way. With no burn to your skin. I originally noted to lick your finger so that others would not blame me for burning themselves. When you lick your finger the saliva with sizzle when you touch the oven lid and elicit a flinch. I have not had one burn using the dry method and this is from day one.

You can find direct comparison of Haze to many other portable vapes in this thread. Please make sure to review all pages. Direct answer to your question (At least my opinion):

Taste: Haze convection screen and all purpose cans - much better than Arizer Solo

Clouds: Haze conduction screen is comparable/similar to Arizer Solo at setting 2 and 3. (Especially the new V2.5 version creates serious clouds at 3 and 4 but 4 is little too much for me. It is a very high setting and I like taste more than the clouds so I use it at 1,2 and 3rd settings mostly).

0.08 will be more than enough to get you going with this vape.

I was worried that it would fill and satisfy my lungs but the Haze had no problem doing this. Within a few days I have put down the glass and now vape 100% of the time. After trying the screens and all in one can, the all in one can seems to be the best route for me to take.

I bought the Haze for mostly herbs. However, I usually enjoy a cigar a few times during the week. My plan is to stop smoking cigars and substitute this out with e juice. The only negative that I can remotely say about the Haze is that it doesn't seem as ideal for e juice as a pen is. I would like to still use the Haze for e juice though. The idea of having one device for herb and e juice intrigues me, especially since I live in NC.

There are plenty of reviews on how well the Haze vapes dry herb but not so much on e juice. The wick seems like it will not last long and will need a separate wick and can for different flavors. I actually ended up taking the wick out and just adding 1 drop of oil in the can. I have to remember to keep the vape on its side so the oil doesn't leak. The flavor seems to be much cleaner and there are thicker clouds w/o the wick. Can somebody help me out with a few questions about e juice in the Haze?

1. Should I be using the wick with e juice? Does anybody not use the wick?
2. How long does the wick last?

Welcome to the Haze club and to FC. I also enjoy fine cigars and actually have 2 in the humidor now. They have now been sitting for 2 months. That is about how long ago I picked up the Haze if that says anything.

Search back in the thread I wrote some things about the e-j. In the Haze owners manual and I also believe on the dvd it recommends setting 1 for the juice no higher than 2 at the most. Setting 4 is far to high and once you bring it down your flavor and taste will improve vastly. Check it out and I hope it helps.

If you are using Haze with e-juice, you need to use the wicks. Wax and other thick concentrates, you can use the cans directly since they have thick consistency. With e-liquids, you need to simply make the wick damp and that is enough to vape for good long session. Do not overfill it. I usually apply 2-3 drops and check the wick with the tip of my dispenser bottle. You do not need to soak your wick. It is way too much if you do. If you are using V2.5 version of Haze, you can use all temp settings but like others said, you will get the best taste for e-liquid at setting 1 and 2. Older version of Haze, I used to use setting 1 when I first started and used to go to setting 2 later in the session. Setting 3 was diminishing the flavor. The new V2.5 has a great balance between temp settings. Hope this helps.

@wax , you should check out Haze website where they list the authorized sellers. I would buy from those. I personally used VaporizerUSA and Vaporseller in the past for my units and some accessories (my first original unit was from Haze website directly). Service was good. I recently bought another one as gift from Vapornation as well and it arrived in a timely manner too.

What is the difference between 2 and 2.5?

Temp ranges. The V2 has only two usable temps for herb while version 2.5 has all four.

I'm a bit of a flashaholic and have done lots of research on led flashlights and the Lithium Ion batteries that power them. The current highest mAh rating of any 18650 is 3400 mAh. Anything above that is falsely advertised and should be avoided at all costs. It's most likely from some old laptop battery pack that has been harvested and the cells re wrapped with a protection pcb that may or may not even work. They are typically only 1500 mAh which isn't even close to their "super power" claims. "You get what you pay for" comes to mind.

The standard 18650 is an unprotected cell at 18 mm diameter and 65 mm in length. The 0 refers to the shape of the cell. Protected 18650s are sometimes referred to as 18700 but most people just call them protected 18650s. They are usually 69 to 70 mm long. There may be some cells that won't fit comfortably or at all, in the Haze.

I tried my Fenix cells because they match up to the length of the Haze battery, I already own them and I know they are a quality brand. They are what I would consider a safe bet. Fenix, Nitecore, Olight, Xtar, Eagletac, Orbtronic, Zebralight, SoShine, Keeppower and Klarus batteries would be some of the few that I trust but only if I already had them on hand or could find them at a lower price than the Haze batteries. Might as well stick with the Haze batteries if purchasing price is lower, unless you want to use them in other devices that accept 18650 batteries. The Haze batteries are just barely skinny enough to fit into my Fenix flashlight but won't fit into my Klarus flashlight.

I believe you could use unprotected 18650 batteries in the Haze but you would have to modify the battery. You could glue a 4 mm length magnet or put a dab of solder onto the positive terminal. This would bring the battery to the proper length. It does seem like a bit of trouble and would require the skills, tools and material. I know quality(made in Japan not China) Panasonic 18650 3400 mAh unprotected batteries can be had for about $10 each. Considering you can purchase the Haze XL batteries for about $15 each, it hardly seems worth the trouble if only using them in your Haze.

I'm thinking that the Haze isn't a high current draw device. I believe that is something that draws over 3 amps. Some high power flashlights can really suck down the juice.

I did a little measuring and the Haze battery comes in at 68 mm(roughly) in length. My Fenix ARB-L2 battery has a 68 mm stated length which I found on Fenix-store.com. It appears by my eye to be a fraction of a hair shorter than the Haze battery. I tried a DEWorld battery that I purchased from Radio Shack and it doesn't fit. It measures out at 69.5 mm by my rough measure. I would say that any battery measuring over 69 mm is a gamble and probably won't fit. I would definitely try to keep the length between 68 and 68.5 mm.

I have also pondered on the "special" protection circuit built onto the Haze batteries. I can't envision it being any different than any other protected battery. I'm sure it's for marketing reasons and to keep those who don't have knowledge of the battery design from making a dangerous mistake.

As others have said, it's good to support Haze Tech.

Thanks to our local Haze battery guru Count Vapula, you now have voltages in case you can get your hands on a digital volt meter. My pre-retirement background was mainly in troubleshooting, so I offer the below in case it is of any use to you. Please keep in mind I don't have my Massdrop Haze on hand yet. It arrives late next week. I will track before and after charging voltages in case that is of any use to the thread.

I believe you can get a small but usually sufficient digital volt meter from your local Harbor Freight for less than 5 bucks. This way, you could check the DC voltage of both batteries to see if there is a disparity between the two. If one is at or near 4.2 volts as per Count Vapula, maybe try that one. See if it vapes properly. If the other is very different in voltage after full charge, that battery may be bad. While batteries are not warranteed by Haze, reading the thread, they have been most helpful after new purchases on the rare occasion when a battery was immediately a dud.

If one battery shows full voltage but the other does not, there is a good probability that the one battery is the problem and maybe not the charger.

If both batteries are showing low voltage well below 4.2 after charging, then the charger is the prime suspect.

Next, it has been awhile, but the thread reading indicates that some few Haze's (not a lot, just a few) have had one oven that wouldn't go to full temp. So in case you haven't, maybe try material in the other oven and see if that one produces more what you expected. If one oven vapes really well but the other has little output, you may need to send the unit in.

Finally, with both batteries: While the shrink wrap has to stay ON to contain the small printed circuit board protection at one or both ends, it's not a bad idea to make sure that none of the shrink wrap inadvertently covers the + or minus contacts. That's the center connector or contact of either end of the battery. It is unlikely this is the problem since even a tiny speck of plastic on either end would create an "open" condition. In other words, the tiniest speck of plastic in the way would prevent the Haze from ever turning on. Still, it may be worth mentioning.

It is my hope that the above may help with local troubleshooting so that you can request the right component from the excellent folks at Haze in order to get you Hazing sooner than later.

Did I just co-opt a term "Hazing" for the Haze thread? Unlikely. I'm a newb.

I may report later next week on how "Hazed" I am... just reserving that one for copyright purposes. jk
