Does anyone know if the Vaphit Silver Collar is inductable? I searched and googled to not many answers, and ofcourse they were conflicting. The copper collar looks like shit, hoping the silver stays truer to its color, if it even works. Thanks.

Yes works great, here's mine after dozens of heatups, IH only.

Awesome, thanks. The copper one really discolors badly on an IH. Probably pick one up when you can get the QOQ without all the extras.

Anyone have luck using the tornado with it, i cant get it to work. Works fine with my thermocore anvil
I has been unable to get it to attempt heating the Tornado for more than 3 seconds, big bummer, because I bought it for use with an IH.

I've seen claimed success, so I'm not sure what changed, or what we are doing wrong. https://fuckcombustion.com/threads/tornado-by-vestratto.55195/page-43#post-1822570

The Flare product page officially states: "this current model is optimized for use with Dani Fusion, Dynavap, Anvil, and TA."

The Flare will be release in the next few weeks, I was talking to the guy and he was just waiting for them to drop. I am really hopeful the Flare will be able to manage most devices given it can do the Fusion 2 which is causing issues with other Induction heaters I have been playing with. I really want the Flare to be good especially given the 18650 - i am worried that 3 is to little and it should have had like 21700 instead as things like the Solo III are being built off them so I wonder if the power is going to sufficient but we will see, at least i have a hand full of the18650 batteries

Tempest will take about 10 business days to ship and the shipping fee is reasonable.

That’s disappointing BushRanger. I’ve been using mine with the Fusion OG for a few months. It works fine. At 110w it’s ready in about 30 seconds. Yep, a bit wobbly.
I recall that Bing was getting good results with the TA3 and beta Flare on YT.

I believe Bing was getting good results with the OG TA. I'm using the TA2 which is basically the same as the OG but with adjustable airflow. I find I prefer going low with the coil base and getting some nice conduction in the mix. I have now reduced the number of zirconia balls to 60. Getting great results with hash on 100w 55-60 seconds. Honestly I believe the TA3/TA4 are unnecessary big /too many balls for the flare and the extra thermal mass compared to the OG/TA1/TA2 is not really needed.

I have had no issues using my TA3 with my flare (not the updated version, if there is one). I use the instructions on wesleypipes page, https://wesleypipesandmore.com/product/the-flare/. But also know that TA4 might be different, and believe that TA3 comes with boro balls (I never changed them). while you are using zirc @BushRanger. Maybe try the configuration Wesley provides and tweak it to get it right.

Hit It & Quit It
Thank you all for the insights! I do want this to work, but not there quite yet.

Maybe I messed it up going with Sony VTC6 batteries 3120mAh 30A, rather than Molicel P28a 2800mAh 35A.

If I lower coil base, to anything lower than highest position, wattage drops to 110w or lower from setted 120W.
This also occurs when around 1/3 battery is remaining.
You can't notice this wattage drop on screen, if you have boost mode on, because wattage displayed is swapped with boost logo.
I can't see any benefit from boost, rather I find regular 120W better or same.

@120W 50sec, 3mm zirc balls

I'm getting better results now.

My first impressions were from trying outside in winter temps, and then trying some more at home when already had low batteries, while still finicking with coil base.
Should really try that Molicel batteries with bigger discharge rate...
Might also be worth to try filling upper half of TA4 head with SiC balls that heats faster/easier, while only lower part of head remains filled with zirc. So a mix, as I heard recommended here.

Had an absolute nightmare with my Flare and managed to knock it off a table. Thought all was fine but noticed I've smashed the internal glass tube around the coil. Anybody know how much this will affect use and how easily replaceable the glass tube is?

I’ve owned a Flare for two weeks now. At first, I was a bit disappointed. I’ve been using it with an Anvil Thermocore.
I’m not sure if it’s an issue with my unit, but I need to insert it slowly into the IH hole otherwisethe heating won’t start.
I don’t own an Anvil Jacket yet, and it takes around 40 seconds to double-click when the batteries are fully charged, and about 60 seconds when the batteries are low.
To those who own both the Flare and the Thermocore:
  • Do you experience the same performance?
  • Is it worth buying the Anvil Jacket?
  • Any tips to maximize performance?
