You can purchase the extra warranty anytime. The 60 days clause is that you have to use the warranty within 60 days of purchasing the service. So after you buy the warranty, you have about two months to send the unit in for repair.

So it's 60 days from purchase of the service, not the unit? Cool.

Not really a warranty IMO, more of a flat rate rebuild with a 60 day window? That is we can assume the failure has already happened......

Thanks for setting the record straight. I can get confused easily these days.

Yeah I think it's not appropriately titled. That's exactly what it is. An Ascent "tune up" is more of what the service is. We created to program mostly for people who purchased their units from unauthorized sellers or secondhand so they would still have warranty options.

But yes that is correct. Purchase the service and send it in within 60 days!

If I didn't already have 2 Ascents I might be tempted by the tune up to buy one.

Hats off to DaVinci, taking care off Ascent owners even those who bought from unauthorized sellers!!

You know if I didn't work for DaVinci, I would probably send in my vape once a year just for a new bowl and fresh internals to keep the flavor on point, but that's just me haha.

I love DaVinci for trying to help us all out.

The fact that they offer this warranty/tune up option says to me that they have great confidence in their current production and understand that there were some problems with earlier production.

Can you tell us how long it takes to turn around a vape sent for a tuneup?

Tell your friends and shout from the rooftops the Ascent is a great vape and DaVinci is an even greater company!!!

About 2-3 business days after we receive the unit we will send you the repaired one.

Well my Solo battery just died on me (well not quite, 1 light left but @OF said that's a good thing ;) ), so I thought it was time to try those glass spacers again and crack out the U-Tool adapter with my GB186 bong - wow - this combo never ceases to impress!

OK, even with a single spacer the oven is still a little greedy, but if you are feeling generous, boy are you rewarded.

The spacer not only saves some herbage, but also helps with heat conduction, creating satisfying, but more importantly really tasty clouds, that hit you round the face like a wet kipper!

I still wish it didn't leak so much vapour out the bottom of the device, not just because it's not as stealthy but because it's really inefficient.

...Oh well, since when has the Rolls Royce in anything been cheap or efficient to run?

Glass inner core sleeve, a smaller oven and a more isolated / restricted air path... are on my Ascent wish list items... other than that, loving it!

My experience with the ascent has always been stellar, I've never had to use spacers or anything.

My only advice and maintenance required is to clean it fully with iso weekly, scrape the bowl to remove residue weekly too and unblock the holes in the glass straw before each use.

If you keep am ascent clean it works beautifully pretty much all the time.

I've always found the bowl of the Ascent to be near impossible to clean. I just tried the steam clean method that someone posted awhile back, I forgot how white the inside of that bowl actually is. Super thanks for posting that idea, it works incredibly well!

I must have missed that... could you paste a link or give a message date/time please? I spent about 30 minutes yesterday with ISO and cotton buds and managed to get it fairly clean but nothing like the original white :peace:

The idea is to use a damp cotton ball inside the bowl the steam clean residue out of the bowl. Although I have never tried it, it sounds like a nifty and effective idea. Be careful putting water into your vape though.

I'll second that one. Hitting hot ceramic with cold water is kind of asking for trouble. Remember, the glazing is basically a thin glass film over the hot ceramic, cool it too fast and it's going to crack. I'd be worried about the thin webs between the holes as well.

It'd sure bum me out to mess up my Ascent that way.

I find 'Magic Eraser' does a good job, even if a bit tedious.

Thanks @Davinci_vaporizer! Glass flowers can be a pain to use on the go, and even at home they make a mess and are fairly fragile, so really looking forward to trying the official spacers.

Are there multiple, different-sized spacers included in the package? Or is it a single spacer that occupies one set amount of the bowl?

Thanks,
Treeburner

Was also my concern, especially as I like to cook with ABV and not glass ;)

Personally, I like to use a spacer (holes facing up) in the bottom of the oven then pack my herb on top, I find I get better results this way round rather than a spacer on top of herb.

I've tried both together (bottom & top - herb in-between), but that really does restrict oven size to a gnat's whisker, so just use one in the bottom.

of course YMMV!

Hi all,
Received my Ascent today. First charge went fine. Used the charge to burn off manufacturing residue and whatnots. Plugged it again for second charge and nothing happened...
Voltmeter says 0V output out of the wall charger.
I tried my imax B5 charger: Nimh charging works but Lithium charging mode doesn't work.
Is it safe to charge in Nimh mode?
Will I have to pay €20 to ship back a faulty charger almost DoA?
I'm also concerned with the build quality of my stealth Ascent, so I wonder if it is a counterfeit...Are there fake Ascents?

Cheers

Hey guys, so i got my Ascent a year and a half ago, i just got my spacers from the site, after using flowers for over a year and still love it! However i've experienced some gradual wear and tear from use: concentrates caked my bowl (I cant remove them and am afraid to scrape to hard), the Notches on side of my Ascent, designed to prevent over turning the bowl fave lost the bottom half, in addition the bottom right plate which was glued onto the bowl fell off, aswell as some of the rimming along the top.

I was set to send my ascent in for warranty back in September but was worried y'all might not cover it, i just want a fixed up ascent to keep me happy while i wait for the next fabulous Da Vinci product, what are my options?

Hello, first post, probably last post.

My wife wanted a vaporizer and the guy at the weed store (I live in Colorado) sold us on this thing as opposed to the Pax 2 that I had in mind. The concentrate option seemed appealing, but now that I've done my Internet research it sounds like this vape [redacted] for wax or oils as it gets messy and all over the place. Well, there goes half the use for this thing already, but oh well, it probably vapes grind really well, right?

I found this forum because, like probably most people here, I used this vape and was disappointed at the amount of the 'cloud' or vapor produced afterwards. My preferred smoking method is a good 'ol joint, so maybe I am expecting too much. I've read through 20 pages of posts, or so, and it is disappointing that a $250 vaporizer needs hacks and crap to just [redacted] work. I like to fiddle with computers, to an extent, and motorcycle engines, i don't want to have to use outside materials or grind the glass just to get a vaporizer to work like it is supposed to. How hard is it to make these things? Its a bowl and a heating device, not a hadron collider. [redacted] It produces basically nothing and you need to draw way too hard compared to things like a joint or cigarette, which should OBVIOUSLY be the strength that you would want to mimic. I set [redacted] up to step-up every 5 minutes from 365 to 380 to 400 and it wouldn't go above 390. Good work, team.

So, now I have to buy glass beads or extra spacers from the company to get any vapor? I'm trading this in for a Pax 2 this weekend at the head shop, they better not give me any issues since I have my receipt. What a waste of time, you guys are kidding yourselves, these things should work, not require extra tools or manipulation. If you have to talk yourself into your purchase, that's great, whatever helps you sleep at night. I can buy a laptop for $250 that can surf the world and stream me videos out of thin air, but a 'reputable' vape company can't build a simple heating device for the same cost?

I really need to move into the vaporizer business, with the [redacted] products that are out there, it should be easy to build something that crushes it all to hell. That, or I hope real companies that know how to build electronic devices move into this easily conquerable space. Sign me up for the first portable LG or Samsung vaporizer...

Hey many really the glass spacers are like 10$ from Davinci and they take this $250 vape to the same vapor density as some of the best 300+ vapes. Yes the oil can be a pain, but as someone who did concentrates exclusively for quite some time i can tell you that it does work great, however you MUST clean it after each and EVERY concentrate sesh. Is the Ascent a hassel at times? Yes. But most of that hassel really is just the effort of learning some of the intricacies of a device that can OVER PREFORM some of the similarly priced competition, with minimal effort. Working an ascent can be like learning to roll a good dutchy, it takes effort, but it blows J's, or a poorly rolled blunt out of the water.

P.s. while i imagine you're frustrated, as a consumer you should do some research on any purchase which you deem to be as weighty as you describe $250 a week: the agression in your post is unnecessary, as I believe you will find that Da Vinci is very positive and helpful.

By all means do contribute to the market if you think you can. You might do a little more market research before you 'bet the farm' though? For instance there's a lot of happy customers on this Forum who don't agree Ascent is "a piece of shit". And other threads have many times more 'happy campers'. Someone seems to be doing right by some?

And I'm very confident that a LOT of very talented effort and lots of money has gone into many of those (believed by some) fine products. Capitalism inspires that and drives innovation.

IMO we have plenty of very fine vapes to choose from.....and that includes Ascent. It seems to fulfill many owner's needs. Not all, of course. There are lots of other good units out there in competition with it worth considering.

Good luck with your quest, but I too think ten bucks investment in factory spacers or the glass flowers that inspired them is worth exploring before you abandon Ascent.

Your call.

Regards.
