Hello, first post, probably last post.
My wife wanted a vaporizer and the guy at the weed store (I live in Colorado) sold us on this thing as opposed to the Pax 2 that I had in mind. The concentrate option seemed appealing, but now that I've done my Internet research it sounds like this vape [redacted] for wax or oils as it gets messy and all over the place. Well, there goes half the use for this thing already, but oh well, it probably vapes grind really well, right?
I found this forum because, like probably most people here, I used this vape and was disappointed at the amount of the 'cloud' or vapor produced afterwards. My preferred smoking method is a good 'ol joint, so maybe I am expecting too much. I've read through 20 pages of posts, or so, and it is disappointing that a $250 vaporizer needs hacks and crap to just [redacted] work. I like to fiddle with computers, to an extent, and motorcycle engines, i don't want to have to use outside materials or grind the glass just to get a vaporizer to work like it is supposed to. How hard is it to make these things? Its a bowl and a heating device, not a hadron collider. [redacted] It produces basically nothing and you need to draw way too hard compared to things like a joint or cigarette, which should OBVIOUSLY be the strength that you would want to mimic. I set [redacted] up to step-up every 5 minutes from 365 to 380 to 400 and it wouldn't go above 390. Good work, team.
So, now I have to buy glass beads or extra spacers from the company to get any vapor? I'm trading this in for a Pax 2 this weekend at the head shop, they better not give me any issues since I have my receipt. What a waste of time, you guys are kidding yourselves, these things should work, not require extra tools or manipulation. If you have to talk yourself into your purchase, that's great, whatever helps you sleep at night. I can buy a laptop for $250 that can surf the world and stream me videos out of thin air, but a 'reputable' vape company can't build a simple heating device for the same cost?
I really need to move into the vaporizer business, with the [redacted] products that are out there, it should be easy to build something that crushes it all to hell. That, or I hope real companies that know how to build electronic devices move into this easily conquerable space. Sign me up for the first portable LG or Samsung vaporizer...
