I am going to get a second vape. Should I go with another Ascent or should I get one of the other popular ones. I am into taste, stealthiness, and precise temp control. Any suggestions ?

Bassman, have you checked out the FireFly? I don't have one but am watching the thread. They are comparing the taste to the Solo and The Ascent, some say better. But I don't know....
It doesn't have much of temp control though. It goes to 400 degrees. Might not be for you.
Hi guys I have a quick few questions
1. When you guys draw do you hear swooshing type noise? I hear a noise like the air coming out and into the mouth but not sure?
2. Also when you guys draw do you guys have any resistance? Or feel like you have to pull a litter harder?
Thanks for the suggestions guys. Looks like it is going to be like I chose the Ascent. I am going to have to weigh the pros and cons of each and then stand on one leg while facing south and flip a coin and see how it lands, then go from there. I think I am going to open a vape shop when they make medicinal pot legal here and Tennessee and just order them all and get first hand experience..At least you have me pointed in the right direction with your suggestions.Bassman, have you checked out the FireFly? What's the verdict on the straight GonG adapter vs the U-shaped one?
1. What I've taken it to be is an internal fan turning on when the unit starts to get REALLY hot, so it doesn't fry anything
Thanks honestly I feel like I'm worrying about every little thing even though I get good vapor and medicatedSo good news, my problems with my unit have disappeared. I swapped out to the backup straw that came with the unit, much better seal on that one with a finer screen, never get any pull through. The silicone around the mouth caving is just in the immediate area, so that didn't end up being a problem either.
Temperature now changes, I just preemptively overreacted when my temp gauge didn't immediately alter itself when I changed temps, after about 15 seconds it updates itself now.
As far as turning it off in 3-step mode, I have yet to want to use 3-step because there doesn't seem to be a "best" formula, however my unit still won't let me shut it down in 3-step mode, it finishes the cycle no matter what, but not the end of the world.
Taste is FANTASTIC for the first few draws, I've never been a fan of the taste of a half-vaped bowl but initial taste is unbelievable. Packs a good punch for a portable too. I agree with the earlier comments on smell. I took it to a friend's place to sesh one night and there were 5 of us passing around, all were a little baked when I got there. About a minute into the sesh somebody starts asking who farted, this happened several times then finally I went "OHHHHH it's the vape"
Really loving my unit now, gonna order the water tool tomorrow!
What's the verdict on the straight GonG adapter vs the U-shaped one? I'm getting at least a straight to try it as a mouthpiece instead of the stock straw, may get a u-shaped if it's better when actually used with a bong though.... I feel like straight would be better with a full bowl pack with it's shorter pathway, but help me out!
1. Yes, but only towards the end of a second bowl if I'm seshing. What I've taken it to be is an internal fan turning on when the unit starts to get REALLY hot, so it doesn't fry anything (I assume this because it's a whirring/sizzling sound almost, and goes away the second I press the power button)
2. With a fully packed bowl if the herb isn't fully cured or has some stick then yes, I find I need to give a little extra pull to get the air initially flowing but after that it's good.
After soaking in ISO all I do is stick it under some running water for a minute and it gets off all the stuck on particlesFor those of you cleaning your ascent I'm having trouble I soaked the mouth pieces in ISO for and hour but not all the pieces came off the bottom glass piece the one with the 4 holes anyone have suggestions on getting that super clean?
Second that. I found you need to leave it in the ISO for one or two hours then put it under hot water from the kitchen faucet and then blow though it a couple times. After soaking in ISO all I do is stick it under some running water for a minute and it gets off all the stuck on particles

Anyone use any of the watertool attatchments on water pipes or anything? If so how do they work? Can you use them as a mouth piece?

Alright I'm sorry I went back up and read your posts, is there a cheaper place to get the attatchements or is buying them from davinci the best bet?
