Maybe they're backed up with NEW orders, manufacturing issues, who knows what, ..., not defective unit repairs ... doesn't indicate anything about being backed up because of defective units ...
Well the giant jump in rma numbers would definitely indicate being swamped with defective units.Maybe they're backed up with NEW orders, manufacturing issues, who knows what, ..., not defective unit repairs ... doesn't indicate anything about being backed up because of defective units ...
I was talking to customer service, he made it clear that replacing defective units was basically all they do, also, when I asked why my unit was not checked in until wednesday, even though it got there at 10 am on monday, and was told tuesday it was checked in, he explained that they have more units to replace then they could really handle. Not new orders, although they might have a lot of those, these guys couldn't even keep track of my unit. When I asked if they even knew where it was, he goes we just have so many units coming back, its crazy, but I assure you we will find it and your new unit will ship friday.
i found this today while i was messing around on davinci's site. don't know if anyone has seen it
It has been said from the beginning that the initial launch would be with limited models/styles. I, for one, am holding my breath for the aforementioned see-though Steampunk style.
Who has actually measured how the battery life is on the ascent? I mean, writing down the temp, duration and number of sessions?
I always forget to time it :-) and I'm just curious, with the battery meter that goes to half during operation and being full again on startup of the second session.
I happily still have a working stealth unit, touch wood. As a first vape it is great and seems to be getting better as I learn to load it and what temps work for me.
I have just dunked 3 pretty grimy stems in some iso. I'm just wondering how I would best go about getting the reclaim and then can I vaporise it? Thanks
Thanks @pakalolo. This board is great but you do need a degree in cyber archeology to dig out these gems.
To be honest I didn't actually measured it untill empty, but I come close to 2 hours of usage at least, hey Belgianvapor I've made the same experience with my burlwood ascent. it hasn't failed me yet but even after a full charge the battery indicator drops to say 80% after one session where it's been heating for maybe 4-5 minutes. subsequently it drops to say 15% after the 3rd session which equals about 15-20 mins in total. unless those indicated 15% last for another two and a half hours I doubt I would get 3 hrs operation out of a charge and has me wondering whether it's going to die on me.
how did yours behave in the meantime?
Just wrote the "please start my return" email. Will they take a return if it's been used a couple of times? I hope so. It only seems fair since I feel like I've been poisoned a little bit by the fumes from this thing.
I got it 2 days ago and I think I have almost all the problems. The smell is unbearable. Air leaks. Panel falling off. Off-gassing like crazy. Battery seems to die really quick. It seems to get too hot, turning the product almost black at 200C.
I have it about 5 feet away from me on a table and i can smell it from here.
I have the burl with the 1aa1 serial number, if that means anything.
I am disappointed that it doesn't work, and I am even more disappointed that I sold my solo to a friend the day the ascent shipped. I have an EQ at home, but I am trying to go completely combustion free. The solo wasn't quite portable enough, but I will have to compromise since vapor quality turns out to be the most important factor for me.
Off to order a new solo. Sadness.
The oil cases are the same outer volume as the heating chamber. Drop one in a displacement beaker and measure the increase.OK, I must be missing something here. If we want to know the volume of the bowl (cylinder) isn't there a standard formula: Volume=(pi)(radius squared)(height)?
Measure Ascent bowl and Solo stem bowl (or whatever). Compare.
Of course doesn't account for factors like grind, dryness, etc.
Got the Solo, so if someone wants to send me an Ascent I'll do the measurements!
To be honest I didn't actually measured it untill empty, but I come close to 2 hours of usage at least,
I posted some results a few pages back with different loads, diffent temps and multiple sessions.
It's just the battery meter that's a bit wonky, when you don't have a battery problem I suspect you should get a good 2 hours and more from it.

I'll just have to let it die with no charging to see how far I get on a charge. guess it's just the pessimistic battery meter that's sparking suspicions of a defective unit
