Hi all!
We've been working diligently over here to get every single little kink worked out with the Ascent- both cosmetically and functionally. I inspected a new sample batch this week...and they are flawless. The new processes put in place should assure it continues to be so.
Someone had mentioned the improvements a page or so back, but I'll elaborate here.
Battery- The battery was drawing 6ohms in standby mode therefore depleting the charge. This was due to a PC board malfunction which we suspect was caused by factory workers handling and soldering the boards. We found a new vendor for this and the battery life is remarkably improved. I did a test across 8 units and found they all last for 7-8, 20 min sessions...which included a 1 hour cool down in between cycles. This one was holding us up...but being portable means having battery ...so it seemed worth it.
Silicone- Due to the constant moving temperature target for vaporizers, we thought it wise to invest in our own curing equipment. See- different silicone's are rated for different temps- but you never really know what you're buying. So now everything gets purchased from the vendor, tested, re-cured, and tested again. No room for error there. We've been doing extensive testing in dark rooms with flashlights.
Volume of bowl- So we took your knowledge here guys and are building glass spacers for the Ascent. See..this is why I love it here. My spacer looks like an upside down sombrero hat..so it serves as a puck too and reduces the volume by 50%. The samples are being built for us now.
OF's bowl temp findings- interesting reports! Yes, I imagine the load does cool off between hits, but the actual temp of the ceramic bowl is not changing...that is what the OLED is measuring. No, glass and ceramic are not the best conductors of heat. Personally I'd rather build with a metal bowl, it heats and cools faster, but then you sacrifice flavor. Regarding the jump in temp- the last 20F are programmed to jump at the end via software. I honestly don't remember the reason for this.....
Exchanges- I want to reemphasize that anyone who is not happy with their vape- whether they got it from GV or DV at this point, please contact us. We will exchange the Ascent for a new one, no questions asked. Well...maybe a few questions, but the end result is the same. You guys have been more than patient with us though this whole ordeal and we are trying to do what is right for the community- plus make a cool vape.
Timing is soon, I'll know more in a day but I don't wanna jinx myself here again..like for the last 8 months.
