cant wait to pop my vape cherry to this guy! been holdin up on buying a portable waiting on the Ascent. Does anyone have experience with Da Vinci or Karma's customer service and technical support? I know its better off to wait on buying a new product until they fix the bugs, but given all the hype for the ascent i could definitely see myself making an impulse buy!!

Then you get to bitch and moan with everyone else about the fact that you haven't received it yet ... and you get to speculate about why it hasn't been delivered and when it might be delivered and who is going to get it first and oh man the fun never ends!!!!!

I'm just joshing you here ... if you really want the product and it's a stand-up company with a reputation like Karma then I think it's just a matter of whether you are comfortable waiting an indeterminate amount of time for a first production release of a product just to be the first (which is well worth it if the product is really a good fit for you)

Anyways ... I wouldn't personally hesitate to jump on the Ascent pre-order bandwagon if the opportunity arises, but then again, I'm not bitching too much about waiting for my Cera either (I'm not at all disappointed with ThermoVape for instance even though I'm still waiting ...) ... many would disagree with me though and would tell you that the last thing in the world you should do is pre-order.

To me, sometimes half the fun is the waiting and anticipation and if it really ends up being all you expected then you'll be like a little kid on Christmas morning having had their Christmas wish come true!`

I was considering the Cera, but shit to get her all fitted out is quite an investment for a first vape. Of course then i may not need to buy one for a long time. might just buy a Pax or updated Da Vinci to hold me over til the Ascent is figured out. how is the smell given off by these two (like if i wanted to hit in class or something ha)?

I don't think you can hit a vape in class especially the ones with big open vents like the DV and I suspect the ascent.

I can't speak to the Pax, but the Davinci has quite a bit of smell while it is turned on. I don't think one could get away with hitting it during class.

I keep a MFLB in the office for sneaky tokes from time to time. The Launch Box heats up quickly and drops temps quickly after the battery contact is broken. While it is possible to get big cloudy hits with the Launch Box through proper technique, when using it is stealth situations I take smaller hits where very little visible vapor is exhaled. When doing this, the smell dissipates very quickly and is relatively discrete.

You might want to check out the Pax thread. There are quite a few posts mentioning the smell when it is turned on and heating. If you are concerned about smell, I think the Thermovape products could be a solution. As they are convection vaporizers, the load is only getting hot whilst one is hitting it.

I still love my Davinci. It is my go to vaporizer when I am out hiking.

cant beat the ceramic heater then all glass contact. given my research it would seem the ascent is by far one of the most advanced portables (only exception quick to mind is the cera)

EDIT: I also happen to work with polyimides (whats used to make the capsules) and know their chemical properties and limits. i would prefer not to be vaping off them

You should know they're quite safe at vape temps then..

If you're looking for the most stealth vape, no contest it's the omicron v2. Flower vapes all smell because you're heating up fresh flowers! All the terpenes and smell molecules are really low temp so you always smell them first, but when you make hash oil you often lose a large amount of the smell molecules (maybe the solvent destroys them iono) the short of it is that when you vape oil, it doesn't smell anywhere near as fresh and ripe as flower. You still get a bit of muskyness that must be a high temp smell molecule but it's extremely stealth. You could blow clouds in the same car as non mj people! (Just don't blow right at them )

Like I said and as joe said almost all of them smell. I don't know about oils but there have been reports that they are much more stealth with regard to smell. That being said some smell more then others but in a classroom no way would I chance it and I don't care all that much cause I go around stinking like herb all the time even from only vaping. I will say that the MFLB is the stealthiest because of the ability to get a quick hit. I would imagine that you can do the same with the flashvape but it is way bigger.

I will also say for smell alone the solo smells less. When I am warming a unit up on my bed and I forget I can smell them and say oh yea I have a vape going. I can forget the solo right next to me cause the smell to me is the least but yes I can still eventually smell it just not as fast. It sill will not work for a quick classroom hit.

j man, if you really wanted to, i'm sure it could be done with the MFLB. It still would be stealthier to just go to the bathroom and take a hit or 2 there.

I've hit the launch box in a big lecture hall more than once you just stick it up your sleeve and put your sleeve to your mouth it doesn't rlly look suspecios ( I think people must think I'm thinking really hard lol) and then I take the hit hold it in as long as humanly possible and then exhale back into my sleeve. If my buddy next to me wasn't able to notice then I'm sure n one else did either

I've hit the DV in class once just for kicks, it was also a big lecture hall and I had the snorkel attached to a straw with the actual unit inside of a cup, pretty sneaky, I used to walk around campus with it and take little rips out of my big gulp.
