Thanks for the tip Aero. Actually, though I did have less water before. What you see here is the water from the 2 big ice cubes that melted.aero18 said:MoeOnTheMoon, you are putting too much water in your bong. You are supposed to put enough water to just cover the slits of the diffuser.
This will help with the drag!
That looks like a nice set up mnmlh! I like the bong, though I opted for a much smaller one due to price and ability to fit it into my briefcase where I keep it wrapped in a towel. (No I don't take it to work, this is an old retired briefcase.)mnmlh said:Alright, here's the latest. I picked up a GonG adapter locally that looks like this:

Hooked it up:

Will this work on a coffee table? I don't think so, and the longer tubing will definitely tip over the zap. This is probably the best extension piece for that, but the tube is heavy. It's also on the edge of being usable (kinks), but at my desk, when hooked up, it works perfectly for me and it is the best way to zap imo. The reason it works so well is that I hold the EHLE lower than the zap, and it's easier to rip a few than with the stem held in the joint. You do have to be careful of not tipping over the MZ, but if it were cradled a little bit, like I can do in my case, you'd have much less problems with the whole deal. If the bong and MZ had more heft, this would work better as it's very unstable when hooked up, but it hits great. I like that the adapter goes down to such a small size, as it help control airflow a lot better and doesn't gurgle as much. I have no idea who makes it though.
Do you have some pictures of your MZ?B. said:So I've had my zap for a couple of days now, and it rocks. Very happy with my purchase. I also got the 13.5v plug, I like having options for the temp. The 12v def tastes better, but the 13.5 releases some goodies that the 12v doesn't. If you're thinking about taking the plunge, do it. You'll be happy.
Thanks Rick.
I had an idea so I researched online under "mug holders" to see if there might be something that helps stabilize the MZ, so it can be used on a coffee table, kind of like a super efficient whip-style vape and lo and behold, I ran across this thing: http://www.colonialmedical.com/product.php?productid=20223MoeOnTheMoon said:That's why so far I like the 1/4" tubing better because it is much lighter and thinner and does not cause the Zap to move.
Damn, when I went shopping for glass this piece in your picture is exactly what I had in mind, but could find nothing like it after checking about 7 glass places.Cr8z13 said:I practically forgot about the glass piece that came with my Vaporstar. Turns out it fits my MZ stems nicely. This is what it looks like, though mine doesn't have a glass bowl:

I must say, vaping is even more fun with glass.
I was trying to think of something that would stablize it, too... The color of that one doesn't do much for me though I'm sure it would work... Actually it's a good design for what it's designed for.mnmlh said:I had an idea so I researched online under "mug holders" to see if there might be something that helps stabilize the MZ, so it can be used on a coffee table, kind of like a super efficient whip-style vape and lo and behold, I ran across this thing: http://www.colonialmedical.com/product.php?productid=20223MoeOnTheMoon said:That's why so far I like the 1/4" tubing better because it is much lighter and thinner and does not cause the Zap to move.

"Marine cup holders" also netted interesting search results.
Might be too big though.

Man, I need one of these just for coffee!
The online shop I got mine from no longer sells them but I found this one:MoeOnTheMoon said:Damn, when I went shopping for glass this piece in your picture is exactly what I had in mind, but could find nothing like it after checking about 7 glass places.Cr8z13 said:I practically forgot about the glass piece that came with my Vaporstar. Any idea where I can order one like that? It came with your Vaporstar, eh? Not sure what that is but I'll look it up on the net... How big is it, more or less?
Anyone ever seen one like this for sale on a web site?
Thanks Cr8z13, is yours about the same as that one, 7" tall?Cr8z13 said:The online shop I got mine from no longer sells them but I found this one:MoeOnTheMoon said:Damn, when I went shopping for glass this piece in your picture is exactly what I had in mind, but could find nothing like it after checking about 7 glass places.Cr8z13 said:I practically forgot about the glass piece that came with my Vaporstar. My only problem with this one is that it seems to be taller/thinner so looks to be less stable than yours, am I right? Could be the photos but yours appears to be more stable than the one at grasscity. What I would want is one with the same design as yours (or just like yours, it seems) that would not tip easily.
But now that I know such a thing exists I can do my own search for it. I looked at about 7 stores on Venice Beach where they have tons of glass and no one had one like that, so I thought no one made them. I guess I do like the fact that my bong has the ice thingie in it, though, to hold ice. But other than that, I'd have rather had one like yours I think.
Ash,Ash said:Moe, how tall is your tube and where did you get it? I've got a 10" beaker that I bought when I was combusting. Perfect daily driver for combusting, but feels big for vaping with the VS or the PD. Your's looks smaller. The shortest I've seen are the EHLE, which I think are 9". This is still taller than I want.
Great setup. I'm just puting my stems right to the GONG joint on my beaker. I guess it's just a matter of time before I pick up the adapter so I can try it with the tubing.
It's only about 2" and I wouldn't say it's very stable. If you bump the protruding stem it'll definitely tip over. Not really an issue for me because It's more of a handheld bong versus something you'd use on a tabletop.MoeOnTheMoon said:KR8Z13,
I thought yours looked like it had a wider bottom piece. Is yours pretty stable or is it easily knocked over? How big is the bottom round piece on yours? I could write or call grasscity and ask them how big theirs is to compare.
That's a damn good idea. I would like the option for with friends, but not like something I would leave out and use a lot.AGBeer said:Just grab a few of those recycled cardboard drink carriers that you get at your local convenience store. It can feisably be used at least 4 times (there are 4 cup holders) and it may just help keep your zap from tipping.
Fleabits? Kinks? Do you mean little pieces of glass, knicks, or ? Not being a glass owner before I've never heard that term.SmokeTheState said:Be careful when lifting the stem out of a GonG piece. It tends to causes fleabites and kinks. Especially on thinner glass such as EHLE.
Great pieces though. Not knocking them, I just know the heartbreak of discovering fleabits in your downstem joint because your buddy was too stoned too lift up the slide correctly.
Tiny cracks and chips in the glass, called flea bites because it is a small crack that you dont usually notice it. Flea Bite is a pottery/ceramics term.MoeOnTheMoon said:Fleabits? Kinks? Taste it? How did you have your koozie on it?mnmlh said:Ack! Just picked up a koozie, but it makes everything taste like foam and I have a headache now after one hit. I've never seen a koozie that was particularly different from another so I would think it's pretty universal, but this shit is gross. I went to several places, and nobody had a 13.5v, and I had to go to 6 places to find a fucking koozie. I'm pretty pissed right now. Anyone have this happen? Did the smell/taste go away? It's off-gassing heavy!
Oh, I just realized, that I meant lifting the stem out of the MZ. Anyways, thanks for the heads up on these fleabites and whatnot.SmokeTheState said:Be careful when lifting the stem out of a GonG piece. It tends to causes fleabites and kinks. Especially on thinner glass such as EHLE.
