Ordered a nice looking Redwood a few days ago. I'm expecting it Monday. Will post pics on arrival. Sooo stoked for my first vape :D

@Bleezy - nice one - I saw it on the website - a real 'looker'. Defo pics please when it arrives.

So I got a bit bored at work last night and started a project which I just finished.

I'm quite happy with the results. Maybe not the best looking but very stable and functional.

What is the difference between LOG and REG zaps? I get what the PRIMO is all about.

Log vape is the genre of vape the Aromazap/Myrtlezap/CeramicRockZap all fall into. I'm not sure what you are asking about as far as REG. If it's in correlation to the PRIMO, it should be obvious. REG Zaps would not have as trippy of a grain pattern as the PRIMO. Of course, this isn't so much the case anymore. Most of Rick's CRZ's would fall into the PRIMO category.

On the website, there are 3 versions: REG, LOG, PRIMO.....I do understand however, that this vape falls into the category of "log vape". Thanks.

The "LOG" classification of Zaps are slightly shorter and thinner. I think Deezs pretty new piece is a "LOG".

Funny you guys were just talking about the whole screen thing...in one of the tubes I received, the screen was already dislodged when I opened the package up. I had a hell of a time getting the clip and the screen situated again...then it popped back out again! So then I figured I would try a new screen and clip, had a hell of a time getting that thing in there secured, but finally managed to. Then i loaded some material very lightly, and it popped out again! Pretty frustrating, does anyone have any tips for getting it lodged in there well??

That actually jogged my memory. One of the stems for my second Zap had a similiar problem. It seems with mine, the tip is just a millimeter too large to seat a screen. Not a big deal since I only use one stem anyway. Stays quite clean  Not sure how yours is, but you could try widening the c-clip a little and then try it. Might help.

@Rick- I'll try measuring ohms again this weekend. When I tried it on the green plug screws, the numbers jumped everywhere on both Zaps. I was in a rush though so I probably just fucked up.

Also, you are a fucking artist. You took a classic beauty of "Barrel of Fire" and made it even sweeter. Well done sir. Remember that one when I come for a custom made piece. :brow:

Rick will correct me if I am wrong on this, but I believe this units body was turned a while back. I think it is in fact one of those log types, or very similar at least, its not as 'new'.

thanks magic ;)

Hi chillen and welcome to the forum and Zapville! :D

I usually give my CRZ about 40 minutes to really get nice and toasty, although it will produce vapor much sooner (around 20). Then, I never turn it off, so that it is always ready. If stealth is necessary, put the aroma cup on top with some 100% essential oil. No one will know. And, if you are not happy with leaving it on all the time, but want it ready when you come home from work, put it on a timer.

I hope you enjoy your new Zap. ;)

thanks mom
yeah, I realized I was being way too eager, and was just putting it down to the herb here not being up to par. Last night I let it go for an hour and got much better results. Still, I'm not very clear how the breaking in process works. Is it worth it to get an adapter with variable voltage / amperage? Is it possible to damage the heater or char the wood by leaving it on too long or giving it too much juice?

Do you guys realize how frustrating it is to listen to somebody talk about how much better their $40 junkbox is than my CRZ? The restraint it took to resist going on an hour long rant about how superior it is to her crap box took all of my will power. Some people just don't understand  Oh well, haters gonna hate; she doesn't deserve to grasp the magic that is the CRZ :D

On the subject of stem cleaning, I got mine over 4 months ago and have never had to clean a stem. A tiny bit of blockage in the screen but nothing affecting performance. There is a good bit of buildup of honey in the stem so I'll probably do an iso rinse to reclaim and clear the blockage too.

@chillen, leave that zap on 24-7. That's one of the great things about these vapes, they're always hot, ready and waiting for you. I never unplug mine at all except to move it to another room or something. Mine have never cooled down since the day I got them.

chillen, I would not go over 12v with the CRZ. Doing so can definitely damage the vape. You can use a variable voltage, but only one that goes up to 12v, so what's the point? Is there a reason you can't leave it on 24/7? That would be your best bet. There is no break in period with these new Zaps, so you should be good to go.

Are you having any trouble with your draw? If so, it could be that you need more practice with how you pack your stem. Fairly fine grind (like coarse ground pepper) and dry herb. Don't overpack; use 1/2 stem to start. The draw is slow and steady (with no lip lock on the stem), like trying to get a thick milkshake up a straw.

Thank you peeps. Mom its black locust again! I love this wood type!

Dude, that is correct. its the inline bubbler :)

That hit there really did me in ^

This unit is also just the right amount hotter then the ambrosia maple, much like my other black locust i had(just a little hotter, enough to make a good noticeable difference). Thank you Rick! I love it

J.R.R., looks like you have a drill press? or did you do those holes by hand? Your CRZ should be there this coming week. Nice grains.

bleezy and nanners, both those Redwoods are gorgeous. Our new buffing process really does bring out the grain in all woods. With the Redwoods, it is like you can see into them. nanners, yours and several others will go out Monday or Tuesday. I think we might have broke a record over the last day for orders. My plate is full again and I just cleaned it off.

As for the different names of our CRZs, mom was right in that the only real different category might be the Primo because I put real nice grain stuff there. Everything we do now is very close to the same size and shape since plain jane Rick is doing it now. What you see in the pic is what you get at the price offered. Prices for the nicer ones are at the most $10 more than the regular price. I do have to get a little extra for the walnut and Redwood because the blocks cost me a bit more. They are all "log vapes" but some are straight with no slight inny curve. Bottom line is ignore the category and just look at the Zap and the price. You also can always Email me if you have any questions.

Snugglebandit, I will send you another stem. Your experience is unusual because we have been getting good results with our new pro-cut screens. On occasion I will get in a hurry and mess one up. That could be what happened. As I recall, we had a couple hurry hurry days this week. You do need to spread the ends of the clips apart just a little to hold good in the SS. A 1/4" dowel or rod of some kind will help seat the screen squarely against the crimp. Use the dowel as a Ramrod to ram the screen into the tip and against the crimp in the SS. The new screens installed from the tip end should not even need a clip once they are squarely seated in the tip as they are just a little oversize and fit tightly.

Magic9, You have to hold the probe steady on the terminals for a few seconds to get a proper ohm reading. Both readings should settle close to 20 ohms, plus or minus an ohm. I still have more on this subject. It even relates to the Black Locust NYC got this time. That particular unit was held from shipping the prior week because it was the wispiest of six units out that day. More testing with the same results. All I did was replace the heater with the heater in NYCs original(laterally cracked) Black Locust CRZ. I will get on this subject later when I have more time. Needless to say, the heaters had different ohm readings by almost 3 ohms. Also, my logical analysis, based on much life experience, does not jive with Wikipedia on this subject. Surprise!!!

NYC, that is one of the first "logs" I turned. I did get her kid of small. Glad to hear you got the crzy still.(CRZY=crazy over CRZs)

Nice pics everyone. Nice to see lots of CRZY wood porn. And what huge clouds you make NYC and Vitolo! All those clouds from a simple little log vape! whooda thunkit!

I'll try to get a few more Zaps up this morning. That damn AZ board keeps changing. Keeps me busy and young. Winter still here with more snow even but I did hear some little birds chirping yesterday......finally!
