@Snappo ya that's the smooth-flow above the solo. It's in a little watertight case it comes with. Nice to fill a bit with water and keep next to you when vaping. No need for an extra cup or getting to the faucet after every bowl. I also only use it at 5 and up as it seems to steal a bit of taste on the low end fwiw.
As far as using it, the smooth-flow actually fits really well to the stock stems. But it seems the pvhes are just a tad more narrow, so I'm actually going to the store today to look for a fix. I highly recommend the smooth-flow to everyone, and it was only about $25 from thermovape directly. Everywhere else seems to be closer to $40. Ill post some pics using it with the pvhes later today

Edit- so I just tried the smooth-flow out real quick before heading to the store and it actually fits airtight on one pvhes but my other one is to narrow. Looks like ill just be using it on one stem. I only use it by myself or one other buddy anyway. It feels sketchy giving it to someone else since just the o-ring seperates metal from glass. Perfectly safe by yourself though, if you want to pass it around I would use dreamers method.

Here ya go snappo, now to give it a go in the pvhes! I highly recommend you pick one up, really nice for on the road when a water pipe isn't possible

Poonman, yes that is the tip above the solo and I don't think the smooth flow will make enough diff over the omi which is actually in a lot of ways better, to warrant spending that money. I just like it now and again for fun cause I use an ice cold glass of water and dip it between hits. I vape upside down so no issues with the water.

I have been using the stock stems for about 2 years.
The best modification to date is the seal.
Regardless of your mouth piece this works well!

Sorta, ataxian...for the 102 the hole was far to big for an oring and had to use the smaller ID on it instead. It is perfect. I couldn't use it on my M1a at all as it was way to tight. I gave away my original washer cause someone was at my house and needed an oring and it did absolutely nothing and the washer was even a little loose on his stems but worked well. I don't get why but that is my story and I am sticking to it.

I only have 2 SOLO's a M107 and some other number I can't remember. (need to VAPE)

I actually usually run my solo on 2 and get a good 6-7 clouds easy. I often start and finish bowls at level 2 early in the day. Sometimes turn to 4. Then bust out the 6 when I'm in need for pain relief. Now when I want to smoke a bowl ill go straight to 6 with the smooth-flow attached. Don't know what took me so long to get a portable, this thing works wonders on the mind, body, and wallet

Purists should leave for a bit, or at least put their fingers in their ears and look the other way......I want to talk a little trash about putting something other than glass in the vaulted 'vapor path'.

On the adding water/smooth flow idea a while back I suggested those interested in experimenting with the idea could get more effect with either a piece of water soaked cotton cloth or a cotton pipe cleaner. In either case put some in the top inch or two of the stem, but not enough to block the airflow. It's cheap, has lots more surface area and holding capacity and is easy to replace when it gets fouled.

So, a couple quick tests says it not only works well, but very well. More fiddling is needed, but it shows promise IMO and I recommend it for those interested in such stuff. After a run with spent/ABV left from a second session, I cleaned the bowl, replaced the screen and put in a fresh pipe cleaner. This is a standard, all cotton 6 inch version with a twisted wire core, white of course. I folded the ends over about 1 3/4 inches in so the tips stop just short of the other bend. This offers much less restriction than the 'doubled twice' technique I used before. A little careful bending gets it to lay 'perfectly' in the bit of the bent stem above the bend yet be easily pulled back with a toothpick. Dipping it in water and shaking off what will come and a quick blot puts about .35 grams of water in the .68 gram pipe cleaner (actual numbers .355 and .679). In 12 minutes I managed to evaporate about .085 of that, so a dunk and shake should cover several sessions. Given that there was something like .020 grams of THC in the vapor (1/8 gram at an estimated 16% extraction level, a few % of the original still is in the ABV) this means there was much more water than THC.

The effect was actually very nice. Something like putting the F-Bomb on it I think? Given only the edge of the bubbles actually make contact with water, it would not surprise me to find out a damp wick can put more water vapor back in.

Anyway, a call to arms of sorts. I would appreciate if some of the usual suspects would give it a try and let us know what they think? You know who you are......

Actually, because the temperature is so low it doesn't really matter too much what you use, ceramics included, it's just you can get a whole lot more in there this way I think. In the end it's exposure time and surface area that carries the day I think?

Even with the smooth flow dry it changes that hot dry vapor into cooled down smooth vapor. It's unreal. Better then cotton IMO but I also just had a smooth flow laying around. I'm gunna be using this all

Shred trust me you will move past the smooth flow at some point. For those who don't have one laying around I am with poonman on the omi. I have both and feel that is the better choice for a variety of reasons.

OF, I don't eat or vape my clothes . I can taste the cotton and that is one of the reasons I don't like it among a few others.

As to your experiment I have no idea wtf you are talking about so I can't try it

Nice test OF, like said above whatever works best for you. I don't doubt that it holds more moisture then a smooth flow and may even cool better, I just can't get it out of my mind that cotton is stealing some Thc and what not. How does the cotton look after a couple bowls?

After a few more tests the smooth flow and pvhes are a match made in heaven. Turned to 7, packed a very lightly packed bowl of ~.07. And pretty well one hit the bowl. I'm sure I could have gotten a bit more vapor but the abv agreed that its pretty spent. I would have coughed my lungs up for sure without any sort of water (yes i have tried it dry). Took a video too, big ass thick cloud, but not very entertaining to watch me draw off a stem. Damn this is great for on the go pain relief, sinceI'm not thinking I should bring my glass on the road to hotels for work trips. Solo can do it all, good god I'm vaped off my ass. In the name of science

More proof that it was a successful test lol. damn, told you I was vaped, my bad. Normal stem for me is about .12, this was probably .08. Just a small shorty size bowl, sure as hell no gram

Bummer. I'd probably try to grind though it with diamond coated cut off wheels.

However, many years ago I worked at a place that had a glass shop. One day I watched 'the old man' for a while. When faced with a similar problem he used a novel technique. He cut a groove where he wanted the cut, all the way around. He then heated it some, no where near softened, but plenty hot. He then laid a damp piece of string in the groove to cool it rapidly at that point only, worked like magic. The stub just fell off.

I think it was water, but it could also have been kerosene on the string. I bet reading up some will fill in the details.

As far as the smooth flow, when I first got the solo after wanting to toss it out the window, I put on a smooth flow cause my throat was bad as well. I used a piece of silicon and attached it to the end of the stem. It worked great. I will say I don't need it anymore on this vape. I think your throat either gets used to it or maybe we adjust our draw.

Success. I used the dremel with a plastic disc cutter. I have found the plastic works rather well when ever I hear to use diamond. Was going to do the string thing but just kept going round and round with the disc and it just dropped off by itself. Yahoo.

Heated the edges to dull them up. Then I found it was too hard to get the screen to stay. So since I never use my stock bent stem, decided to cut off the bowl part to make a flexible gong.

Just about to give er a go. Love this Solo, just so many options.
My dog seems to like it too.

My feeling is to chuck the whole thing. Why? Because it appears to me that the screen also acts as a load bearing bridge that adds rigidity to the circumference of the bowl. Notice that the breakage and crack stopped mostly before the screen. Take that away and you risk breaking again easier than the first time. JMO

Me throw something out......no way, Not till all avenues have been tried.
And in this case it worked out great.

Plus I can vape this during the day without couch lock!
My GOD'S GIFT is way too strong and knocks me out!
PURE OG only at night.

Girl Scout Cookies works the best for me actually.

Level 4 is my setting both Wet and Dry!

Level 3 when the FLOWERS are real dry.
My current batch level 4 has been working fine in my case.
Others like higher levels than 4.
It's really a preference issue.
No Right or Wrong way.

I've only used it a couple of times, but as of now I can't detect any build up. I expect some of course but basically at the level that normally happens in the tube anyway (very little that far up), cotton doesn't conduct heat well really, it's not going to condense much.

It's important to remember while we call it 'vapor' it's not really. It's actually an aerosol meaning it follows different rules. By the time it makes it to you it's no longer vapor at 400F but finely divided particles suspended in the air (aerosol).

I found I could take the Solo to 5/6, a step or two higher than normal for me, and not cough, seems the diffusion of the f-bomb even without water cools the vapor or at least makes it easier to inhale, and because there is no water the taste is still bang on!

I don't have a f-bomb yet but I find both my Cloud and Sublimator are more enjoyable and more effective when used with a dry water tube. The water seems to take something away.
