Hey Guys,

First post!

If someone is looking for a Solo, I just purchased mine from torontovaporizer. They are on sale for $199, plus there is a code for an additional $40 off (code is 'solosale'). So for $203cdn shipped, I am getting a Solo, an extra bent tube, 2 caps, soft case, plus the free Zeus bolt grinder. Pretty sweet deal if you ask me.

Anyways, I have been creeping for awhile and decided to join today and noticed people looking for a cheap Solo so I thought I'd say hello. I have been following the Ascent thread and decided to pass on it and go with the tried and true Solo as my first portable. I use a plug in 'Deluxe Daddy' now. I seem to be sticking w/canadian made vapes. =)

Now that's what I call a good First post by a New member .
It sounds like you're here to make some friends .
There were a couple of new members earlier that just didn't grasp that concept .

Keeping along with the Canadian links , you'll want to look into Planetvape also for Solo accessories . jmo

Hey thanks!

I'm excited to become part of such a well informed and friendly community. After spending hours upon hours creeping over the last 3 weeks or so, there are some really helpful people floating around here. I've learned quite a bit. Thanks for the suggestion, and I am really stoked about my new purchase. Can't wait!!

and it was one of the first albums I'd enjoyed while using cannabis .

Hello all, hope someone has given my dual screen setup a try. Here are a few mods/accessories you can do for less than $2 and get a feel for bong vaping.

Disclaimer:if you like using glassware with your solo I highly recommend you spend the money on a glass on glass bong adapter (PVHE for sure). These mods were only used for a little R&D to see if bong vaping stood up to all the hype. And it definitely did, for about $2 its worth a go.

velcro strap, 1/2" rubber grommet ($1.12), 1-2ft 2food grade tubing (3/8" interior/ 1/2" exterior) ($0.84) (recommend 500F Silicone tube

I used this setup while I was waiting for the PVHE adapter. The tubing needs to be stretched a little bit to get it to fit over the solos stem. I stretched it with the end of an eating utensil. Seat the black gasket in your downstem or ash catcher then fit the tubing in to it. If you do it right it's an airtight seal. Again I have 18mm glass, take your downstem to lowes to see what size grommet/tubing works with 14mm.

LOL bud yes its got a trippy feel about the avatar plus classic Floyd as well :D I think I got It from a optical illusion site but it might be your meds!!

Doesn't the tubing greatly reduce the taste? I picked up a ashcatcher setup a couple days ago and was considering adding tubing to the end but i thought the whole point of all glass was it didn't effect taste

EDIT: big shoutout to ataxian for that ashcatcher idea it was just what i wanted and other then being a little awkward to suck it works perfectly!

I also got my solo from tv in April but you're getting more stuff for less money than I paid. The grinder is good but I find it needs to be cleaned often. Maybe I am just doing something wrong but it gets jammed quickly. I'll second what poonman said about planetvape.ca. Great accessories and quick shipping. Next day here in the gta, probably not much longer than that to BC.

I agree that wish you were here is better but animals is one of my favourite albums and their best imho. Glad you're up to vaping today.

Hi all. I just bought a Solo from eBay and haven't had a chance to use it yet but was curious about whether it was a "legit" unit. It came with the instructional page shown below, which doesn't mention the "Arizer" name and calls it a "Micro Heater". Something about it just seems like the sort of thing I'd find in a knockoff. Is this the real deal? Thanks!

End caps

The bigger gray caps and yellow caps are from home depot. They cost like 50 cents for a pack of 2. The bigger gray cap says 1/2" screw protector and the yellow is 3/8" screw protector.
The smaller gray caps are from lowes and claim to fit 1/2" screws but they only fit over the end of the stem not the bowl. Either way these are great because they protect the stems and you can preload the bowl before you go out and it holds in any smells since its such a small amount of bud.

Cut end cap: I used one these the very first time I used the solo with glass. I have 18mm glass but these should work just as well on a 14mm. Simply snip the end of a cap but leave some of the end so it doesn't slide down the solos stem. Gently seal it into your bong and pull away. Good way to try bong vaping for 25 cents.
These also work VERY well on the end of the stem when you are using the solo natively. You can call me crazy...till you try it but it really makes it easier/more comfortable to draw from.

Yes your tips have been mentioned and tried before ,
but keep them coming . I use the NO2 screens , they're shaped like a top hat .

I paid $300 for my first one two years ago.
Love it and still use it everyday!
It's been plugged in with a PA for at least 3 months!
I use my second one just to mix it up.
The same color gets boring so I have 2 to go with my mood.

On a solo note I have to say the 102 so out performs the m1a3 but it does get really hot. I think they changed the outer plastic and the way it is insulated maybe:shrug:

My second one was the same model as yours M1A3 and it was weaker than my first one M107.
I changed the batteries and now it works as good as my first one.
When I tested the batteries of the weaker my battery tester showed a dead cell.
Easy fix.

Now both of my units kick my shiny metal a@@!
PURE OG FLOWERS all FROSTY may have something to do with it?

the tubing didn't add any taste for me but that setup was only temporary while my PVHE bong adapter arrived. It was just as effective as my adapter except the airflow with the PVHE is PERFECT for a bong! Definitely get it http://www.planetvape.ca/pvhegong-high-efficiency-gong.html

Welcome dirklance, that is a good deal and their service is great, I have bought 3 solos off them in the last year and half and on the last 2 they matched PV's price of 160.00 but I didn't want the grinder because I had one from the first solo so I ordered one with the newest carrying case they and the pa adapter.
