Arizer Solo

GoGreen, using a power inverter along with the solo charger may also be a possibility, though admittedly I haven't tried it myself yet. If anyone here is interested, though, I do have an inverter in my car - I'm willing to give it a shot for research purposes ;)

It would be good to have a car power source, even though i have no car right now, for camping & road trips its ideal. I think (not sure though) isnt there one to buy already that fits in the cigarette lighter hole/socket of the car and charges the solo?

That's cool how your link did that .

I used to have a 3 prong car inverter for charging my NO2 .
I don't see why it shouldn't work for the Solo too .
I haven't tried it with the Solo b/c I have the PA .
I use the PA for an hour before heading out for work every morning .
If I didn't , the Solo wouldn't have enough portable battery power for the trip home .:ugh:

Can the solo be charged on the go if you arent near a car or power socket though?
you could use a car battery jump box that has either an ac or lighter socket output, but for the price you could just get an iolite or hammer. also a spare can of butane is a hell of a lot lighter than a huge battery

Or get a MFLB .
Including batteries , it's still pretty light and very portable .

Or get a 2nd Solo .

MFLB - not enough kick - not decent clouds like the solo or length of use. would rather pay the extra dough for a 2nd solo but....
2nd battery back would beat a 2nd solo ;)

iolite did interest me - not sure with it being butane powered - residual taste? and does it actually produce much vapor? i got the impression the solo was at least as good. have to say i am very impressed and dont believe there is a better portable vape on the market right now than the solo - battery / taste / efficiency / temp control & no combustion. fuck combustion!

so yeah, im not too unhappy - i love and enjoy all the uses solo has, i carry the charger and top it up at parties/houses but im just trying to make it an alternative to smoking when outside a lot. it runs out but i guess in time there will only be more solutions.

I can't speak for the iolite but the wispr by iolite has no residual butane taste and I imagine the original didn't either. the wispr is a little more than a. jump pack would be so that's why I said iolite. the clouds with the wispr are good to, same temp as 3 on the solo. I agree that the solo is the best portable in a lot of categories but in this particular case when you are away from a socket for extended periods, a butane powered vape is your best choice. that way as long as you have a can of butane you never have to worry

Yes , the Iolite produces vapors , but you're right , no temp. control .
2nd battery pack , here you go .

@OF -
I saw a video of someone with a motorcycle battery and step up convertor powering a Volcano vaporizer in the middle of nowhere! That same setup would also do a solo, but would require so much kit - easily carried in a backpack, but still something the same/smaller size as a solo but just a battery it could plug into would be awesome.....perhaps.....maybe someone could make a plug in extra battery pack that output at 9v and mimicked the charger to charge the solo on the go.

You need a very solid 12 Volts (has to stay above something like 10.7 in my tests) to charge. Under about 8.5 will try to run in PA mode, taking LOTS of power, but won't charge.

As you said, one of those 'gel batteries in a box' will do it, but lead is lead. The units you suggest aren't in the running. You could use 3 of the USB charges sold for cell phones like:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BN4C36Q/ref=oh_details_o06_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You'll need 3 in series (for 15 Volts at one Amp) and a diode or two (or 3) to drop the total Voltage to get it in range. No big deal.

Or you can cobble up a battery pack like I did using 3 18650s. I made it a while back for the PD, have used it a far it with MFLB (powers the PA up in the garden) and used it to charge the Solo and others. You have to match connectors as needed, of course:

I bought a 200 watt inverter I leave in my van just for that reason, perfect for road and camping trips, told the wife today I might have to charge the vape up in the van because the power was out here for 8 hours but lucky I had the solo fully charged before it went out and it still had another session in it when the power came back on.

Just received my Arizer Solo on Saturday and all I can say is wow. I couldn't be happier. It is so simple and easy to use. Efficiency seems excellent. I am loading it up with .15 and can not count how many draws it is producing. The vapour production is very good and it tastes great.

I know this is nothing exciting or new to most of you but if anyone has just opened page 592 of the Arizer Solo thread you may find this useful.

Of course I am already looking at how I can pimp it up. I tried to order a Bog Oak stem from Ed's yesterday but he is out of stock on all of his custom solo stems. Does anyone know any other retailers that I should look at or can you recommend any particular purchases to go with the Solo. I have looked at glass and will venture there but it may be a bit of a learning process. Would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

After looking at the PowerCup Inverter, I was wondering who has a great stealth cup suggestion for the solo - especially for in the car?

Glad you're enjoying your solo, it is that great IMO...

About good retailers - www.planetvape.ca and its super awesome PVHES stems.
Edstnt.com with the wood stems
Vapeworld.com another good choice...

There's even another site in Europe who sells special stems but I forgot its name...
