So these latest m1? models, you think that the battery plummets faster because of a weak batch of batteries, and not the firmware? I think it was reported that the battery life is similar between newer and older? I found my m107,m1d,m1a all worked the same, except m107 had most accurate battery life scale.

Oh, I too just received some OG Kush in the mail today from B.C.! And Pink, and Bubba, and Super! :)

I have a new black 107 that I received on Wed.
I charged it yesterday for five hours and I got 8-12 minute sessions on,so a total of 96 minutes of use.
The charge light came on when I tried for a 9th session
I had temp set to 6 and bumped to 7 at the last 2-3 minutes before shutdown on all sessions
I got about 1-1/2 stems per 12 minute session. Small dome screen in stock stem.

So an hour and a half on one charge isn't bad, hopefully batt time will get better with usage.

Edit to add I usually shut solo off after a stem,I ran the above letting it run a full 12 minute session.
And I gave kudos to ataxian for the batty fix.

Not sure why no one else has given ataxian kudos - but I will. Nice job!

I think ataxian is suggesting that some batteries are bad. I believe the charge indicator issue is still a result of firmware changes.

I meant to, but forgot, great job ataxian. I'm glad you took our advice and decided to exchange the batteries, and i'm happy for you because, two Solos are definitly better than one. ;)

I don't know my battery life because i haven't got the need to know, doesn't that says it all?

Ataxian, are those exactly the same specs as the stock ones or did you got longer lasting batteries like Centizen's?

I have a black M1A to clear it up and you know the rest.

Also did you have to cut and put wires together like the pics that centi had up from the link in the post above?

AXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXx great job...do mine when it needs it please :D

I would agree with that .
Because you used it at a higher level(s) , which uses more power .

I got to hand to ARISER it is a real simple build.
Just unplug the battery pack and plug in the new one.
Their easy to make with a decent soldering gun and some plastic shrink wrap.
I'm going to do a little research and make the best battery pack possible.

So you mean I can even do it woohoo. Unscrew, unplug, plug, screw back in and vape? So kewl if I can do that. So you are going to try and doohickey a stronger battery? I am watching can't wait.

I will make a few proto-types and see what works best.
The black one is now my driver.
Matches my black PERSEI
The Silver one is now R&D!

Here's another link Red Indy ,
http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/arizer-solo.3833/page-225#post-203186

I saved it , because I figure it may be useful someday ....keep us posted .
I got my M107 ( Silver ) from Puffitup last 07/12 .
I get 2 to 2 1/2 hrs of straight usage on level 5 and 6 .

It has been my observation that the Silver M107 has the least problems reported . imo
Need more input to prove that one ....

There's only a one year warranty on the battery .
No one's mentioned how much ? this would cost to get a new battery replaced by vendor or Arizer ?
I'm sure mine will need to be replaced at some point in time .
I might try buying off amazon for $ 15 and attempt to do what ataxian did .

GREAT Poonman, thanks a lot!
I will also save it for future reference!

I found this info on http://www.vaporpedia.com/wiki/Solo:

After initial confusion, Arizer has clarified that users will be able to replace the battery pack. Arizer will offer a service for anyone who is not comfortable doing the replacement.
The cost of battery replacement, including labor, is $95 plus taxes and shipping.
Additionally it was discovered from vapeplexus tear down photos that the battery is a Li-Ion 18650 7.4v 2200 Mah.

Amazon has that battery with Bare wires here: (connector would have to be cut and soldered to the new battery) Tenergy 2200Mah Battery

Additionally it should be possible to put a larger capacity (2800Mah/2600Mah versus 2200Mah) battery in but again this is not verified. Proceed at your own risk. 2800Mah Battery
2600 Mah Battery

I have read somewhere that if you buy the battery from Arizer or any of their resellers directly, they will charge you $50,- for it, which seems quite ridiculous to me!

Where is the one that can just be plugged in with no modifying no cutting or any of that man stuff.

Seems there is quite a different result in battery life between when the unit is left on constantly (until the 'charge' light starts blinking) or turned off and completely cooled between sessions.
Might that be because the heating element keeps warm for a long time, (also after turned off completely) so when left on permanently the battery has less work to do to keep the element on temperature?
Turned on after being cooled completely the battery might have to use more power to heat up?

...

For people who don't live on the American side of the globe mostly it is quite cumbersome, if not impossible, to order anything from America based shops. Also the costs to have something send to you from America can be more than the price of the item, so it isn't economical for EU based people to buy anything from America based webshops.
I think theres no problem to order from planetvape in canada. The cost of delivery for such small thinks like Gong or the pvhes stems is about 8 dollars (small paket airmail by canadian post). Got my pvhes stem yesterday.

Now for something completely DIFFERENT!!!!
All at once my Solo is going totally mad!!!!
Lights don't shut down, unit keeps flashing and it is heating up at the same time.
The unit will not response to any input from the knobs anymore so it won't shut down either.
Tried to see what happened using the charger: nothing, just keeps on flashing.....no beeps ...nothing....

So it seems I finally got it fucked completely...

Is there a way to reset it????

Red Indy, mine has done the same at some point in time, but after some time it returned to normal. I remeber it doing it two days in a row, I mentioned it here on the forum, and by the time vaposhop got back to me it resolved again...Hope it's the same for you and soon you can enjoy your solo again. and if you bought it with vaposhop then do not worry, their customer service is A okay....

So today I will use my FC bubbler from Lev the first time with my solo:)

Thanks for the comforting words, I hope it will resolve by itself like you said.
And, yes, mine was bought from Vaposhop as well, so that is quite reassuring, thanks!

What do you think might have caused this to happen?

That's exactly it dude, power up takes a big part of the battery just getting it up to temp.

What do you think might have caused this to happen?

That's really bizzare! I've owned a m102,105,107 x2 ,m1d x2,m1a x2 and have never had a problem with any of them whatsoever except the very first m102 with the flaking ceramic coating and robot fart smell/taste. I've also hear faint ticking from time to time which comes from the heater.

First thing i'd do is take apart and dis/reconnect the battery to see if it resets.

These made into a battery pack will enhance the performance of the SOLO.
Just use the parts from the existing battery.
Or buy pre-wrapped batteries.
This way it can be plug in play!
I'll let you know how it works out with my proto-type?

@Vape4life: Tried resetting that way, thanks, but no such luck!
There have been some changes however, now only the blue light keeps flashing.
Unit will turn on again and beeps but when I plug in the charger the green light doesn't come on, so it doesn't charge anymore.
Something must be very wrong still.

Disconnect the battery and send it back to Arizer or your retailer for an exchange, you obviously have had bad luck with a bum unit.
