CERAMIC OVEN? (score)!Just picked up a used M102 from ebay (uk). Was hoping the ceramic surface would be half decent. As it turned out it was basically brand new looking. No chipping/flaking etc and very smooth. Battery life's pretty good too, so I don't think it's seen much use. Anyway, I'm loving it. And it holds a temp really well. Rly impressed
And one of the bottom because I couldn't find a decent pic of an M102 base when I was looking at buying this one (4 holes on the bottom going away from the charge socket, most other models seem to have 3, had me bugged out).
Now to buy some higher flow stems to play with and mebbe try the O-ring. But tbh I like the original curved stem quite a lot, and the unit gives a really nice vapour/taste. No complaints yet.
It is about time for my two-year-here check-in; actually it is more like 27 months, but that is an inside joke about separation from my now wife during her Peace Corp time.
I have a personal problem that is essentially ethical and ecological.
I use my one Solo dawn to dark. As my clean straight stem gets messy, my two other straight stems soak in alcohol, stored in travel tubes.
An ever darkening alcohol first soak and then a second in the cleaner alcohol tube.
The stems thus rotate through the soaks and a very clean stem is always available, needing only a hot water rinse and dry.
The hot milk method never cleaned sufficiently for me, and btw my ABV is always tossed away.
The problem is that I choose to discard the dirty alcohol rather than to recover the honey.
While I love living in a legal state and thus worry not about lack, how now to live in harmony with nature?
What do I do with the thick, sticky, dark alcohol that I am collecting?
I do not own property where I might soak it into the ground and it doesn't seen right to flush it into to our waste water stream or even to garbage-trash sites.
Had I a fireplace, I might drizzle the alcohol on firewood, but alas, I lack.
Here is a travel tube and soaking stem wherein at least two principles of physics are demonstrated as the trapped air is keeping the liquid from leveling and air surface tension is keeping the air from escaping up through the four stem bowl holes.
I have some PBW as well.PBW another vote from me THX @OF.
Always thought the P stood for powdery?
Aha, cheers dude.
Your very smart like @OF I need to order a GonG!The heating element on the Solos are ceramic the oven is not.
The oven or the heating chamber itself is stainless steel. The area where the cannabis is heated. Whereas the heating element is ceramic. I hope that makes sense.
how can one identify good Solos with ceramic heating element and so on ?

Probably not a good idea to pour ISO directly into the oven. There are tiny holes at the base you don't want ISO dripping down into the mechanics of the unit. Next time get a q-tip with ISO and squeeze any excess out, you can even turn your Solo up side down.
the thing is i already poured iso into the oven, probabaly 1/6th of what the oven should have held if it did not have holes.
now wondering if i should just get a new vape.
You don't need to clean that part out mate. I use my solo loads and I never clean that section. If anything I unscrew the top part and gently tap the unit a few times up side down to release any already vaped herbs that have dropped down.
As sickman said above, just try it a few times after its dry. It was iso alcohol, not some acid? Everything should be fine.... I think?
You pics doesn't look that bad to me Disruptxd.
Nobody said replace it? Isopropyl alcohol evaporates fine but we don't know what that amount of water may do, if anything. Put it in rice and use it in a few days. Do you just want to get a new vape? Just get a different one if you want... Is this your only one?I turned on the vape and heard some popping noises, heated to 3.
I was not really thinking when I was doing this.
With the responses so far it seems the safest choice is to replace my vape..

It's not that it poses a health hazard, it's that water in the electronics might mess with the electronics and cause unexpected problems like maybe it'll randomly shut off. It's not going to kill you. Throw it in rice and go back to it in a few days. Personally like I said I'd pull the battery out as well just to make sure. If you wanna spring for another vaporizer go ahead, it's probably a good idea to have a backup portable... Perhaps a butane powered one? Vapman/VapCap/Lotus? The basic VapCap is pretty cheap and a surprisingly decent vape if you don't have a huge tolerance.
I really enjoyed the solo, with that said I am eyeing the air.. Cf boundless if cheaper? I do like the idea of glass on glass
I have had water get into my Solo (overfilled f-bomb water tool) and I just put it aside for a day or 2 and it was fine.
If you are looking for a new portable there are stealthier vapes than the Solo.
