This is not on topic specifically for the Solo, but it could be relevant for for most portable vapes and maybe all battery powered devices. It came to my attention on an unrelated forum. I thought I would post a link for those that might be interested.
I would like to have a battery in my solo that lasted 20-40 sessions on a charge, and could be cycled over 3000 times. 3000 x 20= 60,000 sessions!
OF........ Whatya think?

The most knowledgeable person in the world is @OF on this subject!

My SOLO is at least 5 years old and going strong!

The GIZMO that OF made has made it last!

If you don't own a SOLO maybe your head was crushed when you still had a soft spot?

Lovely... we'll see it in practice in probably 20-50 years. By that time I doubt batteries would look like that... Most of these exciting new discoveries are at least 15 years out if not longer before they start becoming more than just discoveries. Unfortunate because I'd love to be able to use all these breakthroughs.

I love the taste of the SOLO and the way it is programmed (mine is a OLDER one)

What I did was buy a battery pack with 3400maH instead of 2200maH.
This SOLO is keeping it's charge longer.

I think it was flea-bay (ebay)?http://www.ebay.com/itm/Arizer-Solo...944478?hash=item33976eab1e:g:1iAAAOSw1ZBUuEUq

Hello,

I have 2 Solos here and I bought some "Air stems", both models with and without the plastic tip from Arizer. My preference is the all glass short tube, without the plastic tip. Definitely the glass tube I use most of the time.

cheers

You mean you've become compulsively attractive to women everywhere? They're mobbing you in public, sneaking into the men's room after you and all? Love letters in the mail from married women, many with photos?

Bad break, but Ataxian seems to survive it......you might see if he has any tips in the are he'd be willing to pass on. Probably best by PM, that's not the sort of stuff that this Forum is really about.

Hey, and speaking of photos, did Carlos Danger (Anthony Wienner) send you one of his 'special photos' too? No need to answer if that's too personal.

Good luck with it, one thing sure it's not something you can hide for long I guess........

BREAK GLASS is a everyday occurrence at my house.
There must be better materials than GLASS?
I wish WOOD was modern however the SWELLING and breaking WP's is not the right material.
TASTE is important.
GLASS works so I guess I'll use it until I find a replacement?

I did find a straight STEM lucky in a JUNK drawer to get by.
Some of my vaporizers are collecting dust.

At least I will use my SOLO until I break my last stem!

Cool. Glad to hear it's soldiering on. BTW the white 'label' on the beeper is a protection for washing (as is sometimes done in production boards), if you peal it off it gets much louder.......

I was going to comment anymore and save the mind's of the reader's here on FC.

After fully charging my SOLO with my GIZMO during my daily nap.
I only had 1 STEM (STOCK STRAIGHT) level 4 SOUR DIESEL and laughing so hard I can't stop?

LOVE DA SOLO!

I tell myself not to fall victim to collecting.
MEDICATE ONLY!

Hey guys I recently purchased a Arizer Solo off ebay from an "Authorized Dealer" for $120.00, I received the vape and I kept finding things wrong with it. For starters the straight glass piece jiggled when inserted into the vape, this got me curious on the authenticity of the unit. Second red flag was the bottom of the unit, it has no quality control sticker or serial number. Now I was really suspicious and decided to look for a guide online to help, but to my disappointment there was no guide to speak of. Luckily my buddy has a legit one bought from an authorized dealer and he let me borrow his for comparison. Once I had his legit vape to compare to mine I quickly found many flaws with the one I had received. I decided to take pics of the real and fake vapes side by side to hopefully help anyone else in the future who is going to purchase a unit off eBay.

For ease of reading the Real Solo will always be of the Right, and the Fake will be on the Left, lets begin!

First lets start with the box, the legit one on the right has the serial number, quality control sticker and color designation sticker. The Fake on the left has none of the above.
FullSizeRender6_zpsq5jzybca.jpg

Lets look at the vape now, one clear difference is the buttons. The real Solo has clear arrows where the fake has solid.
FullSizeRender_zpsauqm90mh.jpg

When flipped over the differences between the two really start to add up. As you can see, like the box, the real Solo has the serial number, qc sticker and ect, where the fake has none of these. Another small detail found on the real Solo is the lettering stamped into the unit is alot deeper than the fake.
FullSizeRender%202_zpsjuvya1jq.jpg

Now lets take a look at the heating chamber, right away I noticed a color difference between the two with the fake Solo having a yellowish tint to it where the real Solo is silver. Another difference to note is the coloring of the heat shroud, the fake is black and the real is a greyish color.
FullSizeRender3_zpsbilxovhe.jpg

When you turn the units on the fake Solos LED's are so bright they're almost blinding, where the real Solos LED's are a soft bearable brightness. The differences between the Real and Fake Solos software is what gave the fake one away big time, the fake one would randomly power off and wouldn't beep on start up or show the battery life.
FullSizeRender4_zps5dj3pz9q.jpg

Lastly I would like to show the differences in heating times of the two, the Real Solo on the right is fully heated to the fourth setting indicated by the LEDs where as the Fake Solo is still on the second heat setting according to the LED read out.
FullSizeRender%205_zpsgptkz1ev.jpg

I hope this guide helps anyone that is unsure of the authenticity of their Solo, if you guys spot any differences I missed please feel free to add them below. Currently I am in the process of returning my Fake Solo and have already purchased a new unit form an Authorized Dealer.

^^^^ VERY helpful with all the pictures, IMO this post deserves to be pinned somewhere, important for solo newbies who don't want to trawl thru the thread until page 1505 to find out if they have a real solo or not.

Anyway I broke my solo gong before ever using it for the first time :( Are the PIU ones good quality or are the Planet Vape ones really worth the extra $ ?

@ibegettinmoney 2 posts and you already made it into the FC hall of fame. My congrats to you bro.

I found a Puff It Up brand GONG around (i forgot i bought two and hid one!!!) the bowl seems very shallow and it was a bit of a loose fit but worked quite nicely, after about 2 bowls i started appreciating being able to remove the solo without the gong coming out, but removing the hot gong from the piece is less fun...!

@ibegettinmoney A big FC welcome to you. Some excellent info for the Solo owner. We always suggest an authorized seller. Arizer said it would warranty a Solo even if it was bought through an unauthorized retailer. Who knows who's authorized anymore? If the Solo is fake the company won't warranty the unit. So the buyer is left with often a non functioning vaporizer.

Buyer beware on EBay, I've seen several vaporizers that I thought looked shady in the past and others have complained on FC.

This is a great lesson for all of us. All the vendors on FC that advertise are safe to order from. Often I go with @PuffItUp or @PlanetVape.
