Arizer Solo

The burnt toast sounds like extracted flower smell? Do you keep your ABV or can smell it next time you extract a bowl? Does it smell the same?

Itchy lung doesnt sound good but could be due to dry vapor? I get a itcy cough sometimes from an itcy throat so I drink something. Are you doing it dry or with water? If dry do you have access to a water pipe or can you make one to try?
The very slight smell of burnt toast is when the machine is on, but no stem is inserted.
And it's an itchy feeling deep in my lungs, almost as if I want to scratch middle of my back to get rid of it. I am using it dry yes, but not sure how to make a water pipe for the machine. It just seems odd as I don't want it to be any toxic fumes that are actually causing the itch!
Yep, hot dry air/vapor will definitely do that.
Does this happen to you as well then?
Thanks for the replies!

I think its perfectly normal to notice a "hot air" smell from the Solo. If the chamber has residual oil on it from your herb that will give off a slight aroma too.

Like others here I will sometimes also experience a little tickling in the back of my throat - especially when the herb is a little too dry - but can't say I've ever experienced "itchy lungs" ......... that's a new one on me.

:) :2c: :peace:

Hi guys. I'm new here. I wanted to know your opinions on how good an Arizer Solo is for hiding from family members inside the house. I tend to smoke in my basement bathroom with the window open. And would like to know your opinions on how easy it is to hide the actual machine + parts.

I'm debating between the Arizer Solo over the Magic Flight Launch Box. Personally, I prefer the Solo.

Thanks for your help.

But isn't that what a vaporizer is supposed to do?
Scorch your throat and lungs? That's not why I use mine.:)
There's a reason so many people use water accessories. I personally got the Solo for portability, and carrying around a bubbler kind of defeats the purpose. But I've definitely been feeling it more that I do with my Underdog/bubbler.

Personally I don't care, however you may want to word questions like that differently when posting here... Maybe make the query more general?

Thanks Caligula. As for the "family members" part, I'm 27 and moving back home to care of my mother who has medical issues. I'd prefer it if she and my younger brother don't end up finding it. He'd probably use it and she would most likely stress over it in her state.

Revised question:
"How easy is to hide the Arizer Solo from children or other family members in my household?"

In my opinion, you can't really derive the function unless you examine one of the stems and/or see how it fits into the unit. I leave both my Solo and EQ out in the open with their "aromatherapy" bowls with dried bits of whatever potpourri they sent it with, and while it might get a glazed look of "uhh.. what's that", it usually doesn't actually result in a verbalized question as I have much weirder things to grab their attention.

Shorter answer: keep most of the glass parts hidden

@foxfang4 , I recommend using scented candles! With the Solo, there is not that odor, so burn a few SCENTED candles in the vaping room, and keep me on for a while after vaping! Btw... My 27 yr old daughter us living at home, trying to pay off school loans. It ain't easy in this economy!

Maine420, I can definitely relate to that. I think maybe 5 out of my 6 closest friends are living at home paying their debts. And thanks for your advice. That's very useful to know. The only other thing that I'm curious about is how easy it is to conceal the machine (and its parts) from other people. Would some consider it the easiest portable vaporizer to store?

This is an interesting example of how things in a forum like this can be interpreted differently. Caligula's post was reported as being not nice and it is easy to see it that way. I don't think that was how it was intended. On the contrary, I think it was friendly advice to a new member who might get into trouble. I was pleased to see that's how foxfang4 took it as well.

Don't either of you contradict me! :nope:

Pretty easy? I don't know how hard it is to hide it, if someone is nosey enough they can find almost anything. 2 stems, unit, charger. I just leave my chargers out in the open, I've got computer parts and batteries laying around so it doesn't look out of place at all in my room. I keep my vape stuff in my closet in a drawer. You'll need some battery caps to plug the ends of the stems though.

The SOLO does smell a little however I had a MFLB before I must say: The SOLO taste way better and the smell is easier to manage than a MFLB.

Now there are others who may disagree. This is my experience.

Fox, don't stress it, just chuck it in a draw. There are stem olders at planetvape or you can actually buy them online if you search for test tube bottles or something like that. They are actually 2 liter bottles not expanded, kind of kewl if you ask me but you didn't.

@foxfang4

I have kids and a lot of vapes. The Solo is one of my favorite vapes in general, and easily one of my favorite portables. When I want to set up for vaping outside on the down-lo, I take my Solo, stem and a little container of ground herb and hide it outside. It is very easy to put all that in two pockets and slip outside with it unnoticed. Also, it's usually my first choice for a travel portable, as everything I need can easily fit inside a triple bagged ziplock for hiding smell.

It's not one you can actually use near others without being detected, but it is a fantastic vape for someone who needs a strong hitter that can easily be hidden or concealed. As for usage, you will need to set aside five to ten minutes to use it, as I classify it as a session vape instead of a one-hitter style vape.

Yes, An Ed's wooden custom stem.
Requested it short and Gong style with good visible hardwood grain. This is Zebra wood and fits the 14mm stuff great. Just finishing off it's first time run now.

Was concerned it would be hard to separate the pieces while inhaling but it fits very tight into the oven that it needs a good pull to get out. So far. a non issue, as it separates easily at the connection.

Wow, just had the last couple pulls at 6. Hope that wooden taste dies down some. Was OK till I cranked the heat for the last hits.

No more worrying about breaking the stem. And smaller footprint. However, I can see using by itself will be at lower setting and slow inhales do to the heat. (Short direct vapor travel distance.)
Restriction is just a little more than my HES under the same setup. (tighter fit?)

All in all, a happy camper.

I have never used the MFLB, but I feel confident in telling you to buy the Solo:) The solo was my second vape after a very brief run-in with a Vapir NO2.

One person I live with is extremely sensitive to "offending odors". I have literally hit it and exhaled with her in the room...not one complaint. I can leave the Solo out in plain sight without any notice. It is surrounded by computer and audio equipment, so it blends in, but the black unit is very unassuming by itself regardless of setting. I keep the glass stems stored out of sight and out of mind. Quite frankly, they are crack pipe-ish to people who aren't saavy about this thing of ours...Personally, I like the ease of Ed's wood stem. I keep that out of sight too, just to be safe.

I think you NEED this vape, lol. It performs well and smells minimally. Hope i made things easy for you, peace.
I'd written much more, but I took a breath and pressed delete:)
