Welcome @
tbone, I just want to congratulate you on a great purchase. I also noticed you wrote that you are charging with the PA that makes no sense as the PA is for usage and doesn't charge. I think that fact that you bought a PA is a good move as explained before it gives more voltage or amp or whatever it is so it is better then using the new stock charger/PA anyhow. I think you have some type of confusion so if we can clear it up let us know.
Ok, I will try to clear it up, perhaps I'm confused with terminology?
The solo came with a charger that I think we're on the same page as calling the stock charger. I'd also separately purchased what was advertised as "POWER ADAPTER for Arizer Solo". This is what I'm calling the PA and it looks like a standard laptop charger, more or less. In the description, it says "
The Arizer Solo Power Adapter will not charge the unit (for that you will need the Arizer Solo Wall Charger)." However, as I said, I've only used the stock adapter for the initial out of the box charge, and I've been using/charging it very regularly since Dec 20 or so.
Right now I have the "Power Adapter" plugged in (PA says "QILI POWER Class 2 Power Supply.... Input 100/240v 50/60Hz 1.5A Output 8.5v 5000mA"). It is definitely charging the unit - I just got home not too long ago and I've seen the amber indicator move from 3 to 4 lights solid. The green light under Charge is blinking. I can turn on the unit right now (still connected to PA) and the red light above heat starts to blink as the unit heats. The green charge light blinks occasionally as the unit heats (it has done so twice in this current test). I actually expected to see the green charge blink more frequently, as it seems that it had done so in the past. However, it seems that the charge light has stopped blinking now that I have reached the set temp of 6.
Continuing on in this test, I unplug the solo and it remains on. I turn it off and back on... at first I had 4 amber lights, then 3, then 2, then 1, as the unit cools off (I have not yet resumed prior temp or increased heat, PA is disconnected). I connect the PA and the green charge light beings to flash and then the amber light on 4 flashes very rapidly, as if it is "topping off" the 4th increment. The green charge light continues flashing. I press and hold down to resume prior temp and green charge light stops flashing , then starts again, now blinking in sync with heat until chamber is heated. Charge light continues to flash as heat light intermittently flashes to maintain level 6. This is inconsistent with what I just described previously, I know, but that's what's going on.
So although it seems that the power adapter I purchased advertises that it will not charge the unit, it most certainly does.
Also, to give a quick idea of how fast it seems to charge, I'd say that over 5 minutes or so (no more than 10), I now have gone from a quick-blinking, then solid charge LED on 4 to a solid LED on 5 (blinked rapidly before going solid). I typically get about a 12 minute session per numeric indicator.
Am I misinterpreting some terminology or something in your question and getting something twisted around?
