So you think a 14mm GonG PHVES SHORTY?

Here's another vote for the Shorty! I've had my regular 14mm pvhegong for a while, and I received my shorty about a week ago. since then I literally haven't used my regular GonG once. I LOVE the shorty bowl, it seems more efficient, and all the herb browns much more evenly than the regular bowl size stem. I've even been using my shorty to get 2 people ripped from 1 bowl load.

hey all im back i usually come by with some highdeas so how about this

you guys wanna enjoy reclaim just really quick or just for the night because you have more tomorrow
heres a simple way to enjoy it very quickly and effectively

Materials:
lighter
oil coated stem (even lightly)
q tip
tweezers


peel the cotton off a q tip
simpley get the lighter hold it a half an inch under where the oil is until its a liquid
when its liquid let it run close to the tip (where you inhale)
let the liquid cool down just a little bit but you still want it to be a liquid
take the cotton from the q tip grip it with the tweezers and wipe all the oil you can
remove excess cotton
put in solo and enjoy

i recommend putting a 1/2 in screen in the base of the bowl

This thing is a beast; one bowl gets me good, two bowls has me wrecked. The Solo is amazing.

Just got the PVHE GonG in the mail today, still waiting for the PNWT!

So after a good day of testing the fbomb, I can say it works great. I find myself only needing two or three rips to get to the spot i like, and im even packing less in the gong than i do in the regular stems.

Ive also been able to take a few rips, pull out the bowl, and use the same bowl 25 minmutes later and it still has lots of vapor left!

yeah im not sure why i wasnt doing that before.

Just a week ago, I was just shoving a nug in the bowl, pushing in as hard as possible, and then suffering from super milkshake draw. I ended up shooting out rock hard AVB nugs that had an obvious uneven distribution of heat, noticeably the upper area which always seemed barely vaped, and usually had visible heads left on the trichome stalks

Now I use about half the herb, maybe .1 to .2 grams, broken up into a nice even shake, then pack it with my pinky, it doesnt take up more than 1/3 of the bowl, even less im sure. The ABV is nice and even brown and there is no waste, imho.

I use setting 4 and 3 when im dry toking the solo, but with the fbomb i upped it to 5, which i dont like dry at all, and it's working great.

Yeah I still over-pack sometimes and kick myself when I see the super light brown at the screen side and dark brown on the other side...

Is there such a thing as a non-pvhes shorty? I like the idea of a smaller bowl, but I don't get on with pvhes. I have looked and haven't found any so I think I've already answered my own question, but just in case...

Do you use the o-ring with your solo? No experience myself, but I've seen posts on this thread suggesting that the draw with a PVHES and the o-ring is close to that of the stock stem without an o-ring. Perhaps a domed screen or a couple of stacked glass honeycomb screens on the heater might do the trick.

I have stopped using a o ring as my pvhe gong just broke one day as i puled it out my ss heater seams out of place tho. also wanted to say i have now used a standerd gong and for me i much prefer the standers the difference in how thick the vapor is with a vapor lung is a hell of a lot

You think it was the friction as I have been asking this for a while the pressure on the glass with the ceramic bowl but the ring is really a thought as well. I can feel my stem rubbing on the ceramic as I can with the ring so I wonder the stress on the glass.

I do think it was the friction from the o ring it seams fine now i have taken the ring out not using any o rings in my solo any more

@Tom Funk I hadn't thought of that. I have the thicker cap so I'm not sure I want to risk breaking the bottom plate, also not being able to fully close the cap would really bother me.

Is there anything you can't do with the Solo? I think not! So much fun and soooo versatile! Luv it! Solo, PVHES 18mm GonG, 18mm/18mm female-to-female adapter, glass chillium. The draw is incredibly smooth n easy...big vapor!!!

I have the same thick caps. It bothered me at first, but the airflow is more adjustable with an oring addonn; screw, unscrew the cap. I was thinking about getting some honeycombs glass screens to transform my wood stem to a shorty bowl too. Seems quicker than switching from domed to non-domed screens.

Well it appears my new Solo is similar to another members here....seems to "heat" up to 7 within 30 seconds and won't give me much if any vapor and is not cooking the load properly.

FFS!!

Will have to email the eBay seller and ask if they will exchange it...

Also I switched batteries into my old one that won't charge and still it wont charge. On the plus side I have a working battery for it for a couple of sessions tonight

Speaking of the glass honeycomb screens, I've been looking for some. I found ones that are 3/8". @ataxian, is this the right size? I couldn't find any others.
