Arizer Solo

Hey guys, brand new here, to the site and vaping in general. Ive never smoked before but my friend got me into vaping =D so i figured instead of posting with questions id give you a trick i did (maybe people already know it)

Anyways I ordered a solo today because thats what my friend has and it works pretty well. But the loose stem always annoyed me.

I came up with a solution, that my paintball gun inspired me with haha.

If you take a 14mm o-ring or one that fits snug and put it on the bowl end of the stem, and then unscrew the metal top. You can then place the stem into the chamber and put the metal cap back over it and screw it back on like you normally would.

The pressure of the cap is pressed on the oring and holds the stem nice and tight no matter what. Dont worry the oring wont melt because its mostly touching against the plastic on the inside. We tried this a few times and its worked well so far.

I know it makes it more of a bit of a hassle to use the vape, but i think its worth it my buddy show me a burn he got one time when one of his stems fell out because it was loose, not fun.

Ah @d0u8l3m welcome to the forum. We have discussed orings in depth and you must have a high temp one to be safe. I don't know if the one you are using is high temp. Also after you use the solo a little the stem will come in and out easily but won't fall out. The orings you want either come with stems from Planetvape or you can buy them at mcmasters and IIRC are number 113. It might not be healthy to use an oring that is not rated correctly.

This is the only thing i could find on the specific oring i have...

400.018.X-BLK 014 NBR 70 10

is there anywhere i could get this oring in the states other than ordering a huge pack from mcmaster

Wait till tomorrow cause some of our members bought huge packs and might be willing to send you one. You can only buy them online as the high temp ones can't be found at the normal homedepot and what not. This is a great community that help each other.

speaking of a great community that helps each other...

i'm new here! hi! i've been vaporizing for about a year now after struggling mightily with lyme disease with the assistance of our favorite herb.

to the point. my solo's bottom plate is breaking around the edges by the screws. in my search of this forum it looked like folks recommended using plastic repair epoxy. i'm wondering, has anyone here machined a replacement bottom plate out of a sturdier material? would you be willing to make another and send it to me? i would gladly pay for this.

thanks in advance if anyone out there wants to take me up on this...

and a shot of the bottom just for funzies!

So I got me a new solo and the thing broke down on me immediatly!

Charged it to the max, ran 2 cycles on 7 to remove factory smell and during the 3th cycle I noticed the temperature dropped although it was still set at 7. The heater just stopped working. I've tried a few times, even tried some reset methodes I found here but no cigar..

I got it from myrubberneck on ebay, I've sent them an email hoping they know a way to solve this.

Here's to hoping I don't have to send it accros the atlantic again...

No, at least none that have said so. FWIW I don't think it's really practical, check it out? It's not a bottom plate, it's part of the one piece frame the unit is built on. Like a fender on a unibody car. The best shot is probably a hybrid of some sort (retaining most of the frame), perhaps just a cover making the unit taller a bit. But replacing the bottom plate part is not realistic I think.

I seriously doubt Arizer will supply the piece. Fitting it calls for complete disassembly, something I'm sure they discourage, and further it carries the serial number plate.

That's the idea behind my repair kit idea. Kind of a 'minimalist cover plate'? The combination of the SS washers contacting the backside (removing the wedge action of the countersunk screws) and rebuilding the lost plastic in extreme cases with the epoxy seems to work and doesn't need CNC gear to make it happen.

Good luck with it. Perhaps you'll find a better solution than I did?

Try a stem at level 4 after you are completely charged.

I stay between 3/4 DRY/WET
I have two SOLO's and one is over 2 years old.
Never had I pushed the buttons as you have?
My oldest one is strong as the day I bought it!

The seal keeps the stem from slipping!

About the broken bottom: mine did exactly the same thing (I'm not worried about warranty) and I screwed them very gently with a jewelry screwdriver (tiny tiny tiny one)

Update: I woke up and my Solo's idle blue light is still blinking! I doubt my battery was empty if it's still flashing I guess it's not THAT empty.

I take insane care of all my stuff to be honest, I'm the kind of guy who even bought the solo case just in case someone might stumble on it and break it.

I just don't get what I could have done wrong. I guess I'll have to send it back where I bought it.

This sucks, I hate going back to joints, my apt is now smelling like a

I looked at them before. Sorry pipes but from what i have read the are not filled with tje same stuff as the 7th floor ones and they crack if left in the frezzer
This is not so good. Seems odd they would make such a fine looking cooler and forget the glycol.
Curious as to where the information you got came from? Maybe they had a bad lot? (hoping)
The description does state it will not freeze and antifreeze is not expensive. Just seems odd.
Thanks for the heads up and will have to monitor closely the first couple freezer attempts. Just hope I don't end up with freezer burn......

Tasty!!!!
FROZEN COLD YET DRY!!!!
I need to try that!

One thing I discover this morning I believe!

I have the PNWT and think it is OK.
It's not "HOLY GRAIL"!

If PLANET VAPES wants to make a better one for the SOLO they should do the following:
18mm female (18mm GonG capable) 14mm is too small for the SOLO.
18mm female coupler for the mouth piece.
Smaller mouth piece can be inserted.
The F - BOMB logo would have to go if you want to sell to a wider demographic.

Small - Tiny Stealth Logo - Classier!

OK enough of my option.
Doesn't matter anyway!

I actually like my cheap low income set up best!

SHERLOCK for mouthpiece used. (not in photo)

I don't see how I should run a stem if the heating element stays cold, As in, I can put my finger in, touching the bottom plate and it's cold. "Running a stem" won't do me any good...

BTW, congratz on your 2 perfectly working solo's!

Oh tom it looks like your solo is gonna have to go back. I hope it is the circuit board or some other bs as I can't let OF win and be right:lol: as much as I love him his ego will get to big:nod:.

Please let us know what was actually wrong with it. I don't recall ever hearing of a blue blinking light so that is strange by itself. I don't think you did anything wrong as it is sometimes just the bad luck of the draw. That is one of the reasons we all have so many vapes but of course there is VAS and change of pace.

so my M1B1 solo is not turning on... after a month or two of use. Any ideas? When I plug it up it flashes blue then it flashes level 7, and it does this over and over. Which It always does when its fully charged, or at least I am pretty sure. Anyways as soon as I take it off the charger it goes black and will not turn on at all. No flashing lights no nothing. Just a poor lifeless Arizer Solo. Am I done for? Will I have to turn it back in? Can I fix it?

I've been planning on getting my first solo so I've been watching this thread and it seems like these things are proned to breaking ... or has this been an unusual amount of broken solos the past few days? I have desktop vapes and an mflb but I'm trying to get something to fill the gaps between them and the solo seemed to fit the bill

Man, that sucks. I have opened a ticket at Grasscity with this concern. I'll post their response.
Still hoping the guy had a bad mixture of antifreeze in his first unit. Makes no sense to cheap out there.
The good thing is the guy liked it so much he got another one.
Thanks @as

Thanks @as

I had a look at this unit on GC and noticed it mentioned not to leave it in the freezer for too long or it would break. Made it a no go for me.
