The jiggle in the stem while drawing will allow you to regulate more air from the sides and add convection. This also opens up the intake making it easier to breath in. A loose stem can be a very good thing (think of it as part of the design)!Hey, I got a new aroma tube for my solo, and it is working great so far. It is very loose compared to the other two though, there is no friction holding it in, so it would definitely drop out by itself if the unit was held upside down with the aroma tube in, but I don't mind this at all it is better I think.
Personally, I prefer to leave the stems all glass, I just am not keen on adding a metal screen to the airway.I'm still waiting on my Solo to arrive but I've heard that doming your screens can help it vape more evenly.
Hey all,
I just got a new Solo and I cannot get the glass stems to fit. Per the instructions, I heat it up to 7 and let it sit for 12 minutes and still I cannot get the stems in. I can fit the potpourri dish, but neither the straight nor the angled one fit. I'm afraid to push much harder for fear of breaking the glass. Has anyone else experienced this and have a solution?
Thanks!
try taking off the top cap and then forcing with very even pressure directly into the solo, it may seem like it takes WAY too much force, but that is what is usually required with a new solo.Hey all,

Next week I'll try and make an essential oil jar for the Solo
Next week I'll try and make an essential oil jar for the Solo, we'll see how it works out.
I personally haven't found much benefit from using a domed screen, although a screen is a must for me. I'd love to have an all glass solution but I can't tolerate my stems looking so dirty after just a few uses even with a coarse grind. Naturally using a screen allows for a finer grind and consequently denser vapor, along with bowls which take less time to imbibe.
As the others have said, get the unit nice and hot, and gently attempt to push it past the point of resistance while rotating the stem. This video after the 2 minute mark should be a little helpful.
Pretty fucking baked right now
Anyone else hate how you have to sign in just to view the discussion?!The link below is in relation to those who are awaiting the arrival of their solo from massdrop.

I don't think so ,
you see the guy in the vid inhale thru the bottom part .
Which means there is an opening and the oil will drip out if inserted in the Solo .
But I like the shape of it , just an enclosed bottom for total glass effect is what I want .
Keep the tip narrow to the top like the Omi-tips , but much easier to load than in the vid ,
also easy to clean . Which is why I suggested the stem to be in 2 pieces that comes apart . ( earlier post )
You can fill it easier and clean it too .
