There should be plenty linked on the last few pages, but i use a velleman universal power supply, which has enough power to charge the solo and can be used for lots of other things too
Its a clear green one with a red switch on it. Should be the first thing that comes up on amazon.
This?
It says it can do 7.5 volts as well. Would that not work for PA mode?
OF, want to jump in here?
Ok so I ended up having some time tonight & I have the answer, or should say OF had the answer all along. I flipped the cap & blew through it & the vapor came out between the o-ring & the factory retaining ring. I was trying to figure out exactly how it worked so I decided to take it apart.
So the air goes in between the retaining ring & the stem then travels outside of the crucible (mostly) then up through the 4 holes in the bottom of the crucible.
BTW if you want to know what the retaining ring looks like, here it is
It can do 7.5 volts but it can not do more than 1 amp so no
Can you post a picture of the cracked ring? I might have an idea for you. It was actually something I was already thinking about to fix the metal cap not screwing on all the way with the o-ring but I didn't want to ruin my retaining ring to try it out. but if yours is already messed up it might just work.Okay, I created an account just to ask this question so I hope someone can help me! I am looking for a replacement retaining ring (as shown in this pic from clouded vision) for my M108. mine is cracked and I can replace it myself and don't want to send mine back. Anyone know where I can just purchase this ring without having to contact Kevin (which I already did and was told to send it back)? Or at least one that can be substituted for the factory ring? Help me out!
OK, I give, how does this relate? Do you have a link to that reference?
TIA
OF
Someone should confirm, but it looks like a great find to me. It's cheaper (and easier?) than the Radio Shack version, right? That we know works......

I need to read things more carefully. I didn't realise the "1.5A and 10 watts max" bit the first time I read it. Thanks for pointing that out.
Well I ordered that thing but now I'm scared that it will make my solo blow up...
Whew , got thru the storm last night , with a half charged Solo and my mflb + 8 batts .
Here's the actual post by ShadowVape on the venturi process .
I thought it reflected the process with the Omicron tip method .

Correct me if I'm wrong but are we all talking about the Velleman power adapter?
If so I have charged my solo at least a dozen times using a Velleman set to 12V when I left my Solo charger at a friend's house.
Question for OF and any others qualified to answer - How does the Solo compare with the T1 and Cera on taste, thriftiness and coolness of vapor.
Funk, I will give you a well thought out answer tomorrow my head hurts bad and I can't think.
Mighty subjective stuff, I'm not at all sure I'm qualified since you bring it up......
They're both excellent, but I think there are practical differences. Cera is, I think, both 'fresher' load to load but definitely has the edge when you change strains. It's easy to wipe it clean and taste free for practical purposes, usually without worry about the small passages in the MP.
Convection has an edge I think, and Cera is pure convection....but you have to drive it. Solo you just turn on and hit, like a lot of others, with the machine controlling the details for you. That difference, I think, plays a big part in both taste (and other such 'diversions') but in efficiency of extraction as well.
They're both, I think, basically glass vapes of simple design and high quality. They just approach the problem from different ends. The results can be very similar in the end. FWIW I think Cera is more 'labor intensive' but offers the widest range of use.
Or not.
Anyway, Solo is recommended, it won't disappoint.
Ed and I don't know each other....or his stems...
OF
Thanks OF. Would you say it gives the best taste of the other portables you've tried, barring ThermoVape products?
You're welcome.
Sorry, I'd rather not....entirely too subjective IMO. The next fellow is sure to not like blondes. Or big dogs. Or stout. I can take or leave big dogs, but could you take a the opinion of a man who didn't appreciate a good stout seriously at all? Neither can I.
No, depending there are many other portables I think taste just fine. Either of these two are suitable contenders which I recommend (but not one over the other?).
I suggest you take Dick Martin's advice from Laugh In on computers selecting dates, "...I'd rather mix the martinis and screen 'em myself".....try 'em all then you'll know?
Thanks for asking though.

Durability ED's Stem are great. Also, do Ed's wood stems make any significant difference to taste, and is there any practical difference between the different types of wood?
Cheers
TF
I think once you jump in you will want to try all the different stems and things anyway, so why sweat the details now? There are all sorts of things we can do to tweak performance for desired effects. Solo lets you do all that in spades!Durability ED's Stem are great.
I haven't found anything better than Glass concerning taste.
However I'm not nearly as qualified as the others to comment.
I'm more of a flavor chaser rather than a cloud chaser.
The SOLO is a "NO BRAINIER"!
For the price?
I'm pretty sure I will prefer the Solo over the Inhalator, though I will wait for Dreamerrs opinion.
Happy Vaping
