Happy to see Arizer is answering honestly and working this thing out!

As far as the flaking bowl issue....well I will continue to check my "organic ceramic" coating. I have some residue at the very bottom but I haven't seen any signs of flaking so far. I'm not sure what to make of the whole sleeve thing. If it's just one batch why not just replace them? How big a problem is this? What are we up to more than 5 or 6 reporting issues? I will wait and see what happens. Other than a very lame website I can't really complain about Arizer. I'm still impressed with my Solo. However if I had one of the flaking ones I don't know that I could say that. I have been getting alot of use from mine from late June till now. I'm hopeful that it was only a small batch of the heaters that had the bonding issue with the ceramic coating. Time will tell I suppose....

Bummer for sure. I just carefully unscrewed my top of my Solo and checked the heater again. No FLAKING so far....no sign of it or anything. I've been using mine non stop for 2 months with the Solo only getting a break overnight when I'm sleeping and it's charging.
I'm not convinced yet that it's a complete failure of the bonding process on all their units. The fact that they are spread out around the world does lead to thinking that its more than "one batch" but I don't know anything about their distribution network nor will I venture to guess how they send them out to their distributors. I got mine from Rockwise early on. I think that's where you got yours too right? At least you are in Canada....the "home" of Arizer.
I will wait for more posts from people who are dealing with this situation to continue to stay informed about this. That whole sleeve business sounds bizarre to me.....why not just pop another heater unit into the effected Solo's???

I can't say what happened with the Arizer Solo, and I don't want to make excuses for them... however... in other industries, the Grey Market is often fed by rejected units, that were supposed to have been destroyed, being "liberated" by either employees of the company or intrepid dumpster-divers. Don't ask me how I know this.
Vaped Ape said:OK not sure if it is a metal insert or what. They have also gone to another vendor for their coatings.
chucku said:I am with Aesthyrian on this. Mine has no chipping (yet). If it ever gets to that point I would be inclined to remove the rest of the coating, since it is for appearance only, and expose the entire steel interior surface.

Also, and I'm not looking to pick a fight so let's not go there, but in kicking around this forum since it started and being an Arizer customer since the E launch, I've never come across anyone as disenchanted with Arizer as a company as you are. I gotta think that you might not be communicating with them through the proper channels or something because the other defective unit owners seem to be getting resolutions.

+1. still tastes like ass though.
biojuggernaut said:yeah, a lot of ice covers it up nicely however.
vape4life said:Not a solution...just masking it. If it tastes bad, and it seems like more and more people are saying this then maybe there is some offgassing ocurring. Jebus, what a contrast from when this thread started and raving about the awesome pure taste.

I got one of theirs and I've not yet got any of these problems. I've only had it a few weeks really, but it's been put through it's paces and well tested- constantly on or charging. I've got some marking at the bottom of my ceramic bowl, but i think it's just a narrow line of baked herbals at the bottom of the ceramic bowl- I think it's where I've left the stem in cooking for ages, as it's also stained the bottom of the glass stem with a ring of that hard brown stain that needs scraping, rather than soaking. Maybe it'll come off the 'organic ceramic' with an ISO q-tip, but I'm not sure if that's a wise ideaKelblow said:Had mine for 1 month now.I use it everyday but not all day.I have no probs with flaking so far.The smell issue I get a tiny bit when I switch it on but it soon dissipates after a minute.Just wondering if anyone here got theirs from Vaposhop and is having these flaking/stinking problems?.
