Arizer Solo

Is the most recent version model of the Solo in Silver: (1) Silver with a black facade around the buttons or (2) Completely Silver on the Exterior with no Black? Planetvape.ca has it as described in #2 while Puffitup.com has it as #1. Thanks.

Day two without my solo...

I shiver with thoughts of the day this happens to me... even with an MFLB as a backup...

Also thanks to everyone in this thread for guiding me in the direction of the Solo. I had a MFLB that was slowly failing... and I also felt it was lacking.

The Solo is great. Blows the MFLB out of the water in all aspects except size.

I was worried about the glass stems and their durability since I usually will utilize the Solo whilst driving / traveling so I ordered 6 additional stems. I have not broken a single stem yet after 3 weeks of use. The Solo allows enough play in the stem to circumvent most glass breakage. The battery is yet to let me down after 8+ bowls in a day (of course I charge it every night).

All of my breakage was from the Solo tipping over onto a driveway with the stem it.

I've had my solo (m1a3) about a week now and my stems are at the point of falling out of my unit. What was tight a couple of days ago now falls out quite easily. If I don't put my thumb up against the stem it will come out after a hit. The hits seem to be much air filled then normal too. Is there a way I can fix this? What could I have done wrong? A few days ago I could hold it upside down and the stem would stay, now it falls out.

They are mostly cheap made Chinese adapters, which is the problem. No quality control, hell no quality at all
. You do get what you pay for with those cheap adapters, and a fire hazard isn't worth saving $15 or so.

1. Most (if all) adapters are main in China...even my quality ones...
2. We can't know the quality until you test it...
3. Might be cheap online but in my country its 30 euros.

You can buy an O-ring to keep it tight, or you can take off the lid and press the ring hard all the way around. It will loosen up again but I do it all the time. The bent gets way looser IMO then the straight.

Oh my God thank you so much, that worked great. And I noticed my bent stem being loose long before the straight one.

If you think so, then DO NOT buy a PVHES.

Our friend's Solo has this problem. However, nobody was sure how to get the lid off (and didn't want to force it for fear of breaking). Does it pry off or is it threaded? Or are there screws somewhere? Any help appreciated.

Yep it just screws off....I don't know that post caught me funny this morning and made me laugh. I thought of a bunch of stoned people trying to screw in a light bulb but instead they couldn't figure it out and tried to push it in the socket.

Yeah, I like the low airflow so I didn't think one of those would be right for me. Thank you for your input though.

If I make a purchase from planetvape soon, and I have the funds, I was thinking about buying a Shorty stem just to try it. I could love it.

I love my shorty stem, if you like small loads it's great because I feel it roasts the herb better. I usually only pack a regular stem about 1/2 full, and that leaves a big gap between the bowl and the heat core. The shorty stem places the load closer to the end, so it gets it closer to the heat.

The smaller bowl was what attracted me, plus a good bit of us Fuckcombustioners seem to like the pvhes. Having it sit closer to the core is a plus. Thanks for the advice/input.

Last night I played with the temps and walked it up from 3-7 and I got quite medicated, to say the least. I can't wait until I get back home, I've been wanting to use the solo with a water pipe since I got it.

1. yes, but they are not all made cheaply, so cheap that it is a fire hazard.
2. you'll know the quality within 1-2 hours when the thing is melted or not, or if your house burns down..
3. Sorry about that, fire damage is expensive as well.

The one I got was just plain scary, and not worth saving any amount of money. I am just trying to honestly warn you of my experience. Just be careful please, and be very observant of the adapter.

For me, there is a HUGE difference in performance and quality between the cheap no name "sony ps2 slim" adapter I got from ebay, and the quality QILI adapters that Arizer sells for their Extreme and Solo(which I use both) plus I didn't have to cut off the old tip and re-solder the new tip size on them either :) Whatever you decide on just please heed the warning given to you, and make sure you get one hell of a deal, otherwise its not worth it to find out the thing is useless.

Take care, and let us know your experience.

Do the manufacturers offer any services/upgrades to those with older version Solo's?

Arizer will probably send you small parts for free, like the added o-ring. But I wouldn't expect much more.

Bought my Arizer Ac adapter a week ago and I notice that wehen I use my solo plugged it runs a little cooler than when it runs from the battery, so my question is: WTF? Sorry being so explicit, its so absurd

you can unscrew the top and youll see the grey ring may have become a little raised and is no longer flush with rest of the "heat cover" what i do is heat up a stem to 7 and then take it out and gently push the ring in with the side of the hot stem, youll notice that this makes all stems fit tightly like they were new again

Replaced everything, recharged the li-po and....drum roll....no change. I've got a bad one - it's on its way back to the supplier who has agreed to ship me another one as soon as it arrives....
Thanks to all who offered advice.

Good news. Replacement arrived. It works. I like it but know it needs some work to get right. Tight draw = slow airflow = better temperature regulation I guess. Fair trade off for me.

Strange, I always thought mine ran hotter with the power adapter.

That is what it is supposed to do. I have even measured the volts and amps and everithing is allright and the unit works flawlessly but this is so weird. I have to go one number above when using the ac adapter but the temps tend to vary much less

I wouldn't say that's what it's supposed to do. I've owned 6+ Solo's since release and 3 or 4 of the battery bypass power adapters and have never noticed a difference between heat using the battery vs power adapter. I may have not noticed this, but I have an eye of a hawk and very picky/notice little things like this. My only idea is that when using the PA I keep cycling and using it more than if using the battery, so maybe the heater/SS bowl just gets hotter/retains more heat with consecutive cycles.
