I already regularly vape hash, I'm talking about packing enough hash for multiple sessions and hitting the vape for many sessions without repacking it. I'd probably put a layer of cotton to sandwich the hash in too.

I also speak of the same thing... vape some now and some later......
still I use weed. The top and bottom laers of weed can not vape beyond the temp that the Solo has been set at... and remains porous... a great "shell" for the has hthat you wish to vape on for a few sessions without emptying out your stem.

I'm referring to the conversation about packing the stem full of hash in order to fuel the vape for many sessions.
3-4 huh? I think I'll try it out tonight and see what I can get out of it. Set phasers to stoned!
Edit: Wow, just finished a 6 minute sesh with the solo set to 3, and .5 of soft dark brown hash sandwiched between cotton. Incredibly thick hits, showed no sign of dying down. Originally had the vape set higher but was gettting too thick of hits...I'm in heaven! (Heaven happens to be very high)

Recommended ? well... I have the showerdome, I would wish for a mini showerdome...
There's many options...but IMO it is very expensive ... get it only if you're getting a cloud...
I would advise a Magic Glass Rude Boy with a downstem diffuser... amazing bong that cost much less and is 14.5mm so you won't even need a GONG

ataxian, do your reasearch. I wouldn't go for that for $80 (probably plus $20 shipping). You'd probably also want to spring for the diffused downstem, which adds another $15. Plus it's got a carb hole by default which is just lame. No offense to m0sh intended.

And I use the straight tube. You can't really milk the straight with the Solo but it sure is a nice smooth stream of vapor.

I'm not saying its a bad piece, but it comes with a single hole down stem (chuggy, not much diffusion). The included down stem has a built in bowl and isn't GonG female, so most vapes/slides will not work with it.
I can post a photo of carb/no carb when I get home from work, but you can see in the link you just posted that there is a hold near the joint. You cover it while inhaling and release to clear. Very uncommon in modern high quality glass with the prevalence of GonG connections.

You're welcome to use bud in place of the cotton if you want to, but I only have hash at the moment. I did Cotton/Hash/Cotton. I'm not sure how many 12 minute intervals I got out of this .5, but it's worth it to try this atleast once. Amazingly thick hits, I was whitewalling my 18" tube repeatedly for 2 hours last night while watching TV, as well as a session before work today. It works, that's for sure
.Edit: Just started my post work sesh, the same stem is still hitting, probably only a session or two left.

After 3 years of continuous service I was finally ready to retire my trusty PD. It still works, but it insides are rattling around and the taste is a little burned. And, as long as I was upgrading from the PD, I decided I had to go cordless.
The Solo was just recently released the last time I was here, and I was impressed with the form factor at the time but skeptical about performance and longevity. After a year an a half it seems that the form factor is basically unchanged but that there are some significant improvements under the hood. And, at just $150, how bad an investment could it be.
Based on the advice here, I cut a screen to fit and I really like how the stock stem is designed to hold a screen in place. I found a washer just a bit bigger than the stem opening and used that as a template to cut around with some tin snips. worked perfectly. I'll probably try sandwiching herb between two screens to see if i can pack smaller loads that way. It usually takes me less than one PD stem to get where I want to be, so for me smaller loads are definitely a plus.

My after just one use, I have to say I'm very impressed. Build quality is top notch and performance is fantastic. after three years with the PD I don't find the drag issue to be an issue at all, though I'm sure it is restrictive compared to others. So, for me this was a great upgrade from the old log.

Any of the above options would be just fine. I have not found the stems to wear down over time, but I typically only use my PVHEGonG.
kigrass, if you're anything like me it's impossible to wait for something you want. However, if you have more self control/will power, you might find it worth to wait for Planet Vape to release their bubbler.
