Micro-dab?
Surprised I haven't seen this on FC. Not entirely informative videos, summer release, but making wide claims. Looks a bit like a Solo stem customized (with a glass chamber?) for the wax pellet. Use with the Solo or the Persei(nail?).
The first is a brief vid showing it in action, next two are a voice behind the product talking in front of the image.
Potential potential, uses two of my favorites.

I'm posting this in the Persei thread as well, forgive the redundancy.

I realize I've made back to back posts but they're two entirely different subjects. Didn't want to wait just for a spacer.

Thanks Guys, I think I'll try the solo first with the technique that jambandphan suggested (removing the stem between hits) Also, could I just only pack it with enough for 2-3 hits? Or, do you have to put more in there for it to work?

If I notice any plastic taste or smell I'll return it and try out the Thermovape instead. Seems like an awesome company. But, I don't like the idea of having to mess with switching batteries. It's nice that you can just plug the solo into the wall.

The PVHES shorty stem will allow you to pack 30% less at a time. I think you will be very happy with the Solo! Good luck!

He said through twitter "#Microdab is being refined. Two prototypes have been rejected. We will give our supporters top shelf glass for their top shelf concentrates!"

My guess is it will be another few weeks.

I am not sure if this has been discussed, but I found a really useful new way of vaping oils/waxes with the Solo. All that is required is a small 1/2" square of pure hemp rolling paper. Simply cup the paper such that it can hold a small dab of wax, insert with the bottom of the cupped paper facing the mouth of the chamber, and it will act to disperse the heat evenly on that oil/wax and you get a nice, quite effective session off a very small amount of material. I find rocking it at 7 is ideal, and it delivers what is even a bit strong of a hit at times after it gets rockin' a few hits in. But I would have to say this is the THE purest form of vaporizing oil I have yet to find. Nothing but the fully unadulterated taste of fresh oil is delivered every time. I can't even get a hint of what I would describe as the hemp paper even - just the pure oil. And it lasts a lot longer than I expected, for how strong the hits were! Not only that, but re-using the paper for several dabs over and over did not even create any "reclaim" taste that I could decipher. Good good stuff. I dislike my Solo for herbal materials, except for its convenience factor of not stirring between hits and battery longevity. But I dislike the taste for herbal material, because I find it inferior to my T1 every time.

If you're having a hard time understanding this at present, I'm having a hard time recommending that you're in need of vaporizing anything else at present. Ah, I kid. But in all seriousness, I'll try to post some photos in a bit. Just give me a lil' bit. I'm enjoying the fruit of my labor at present mahself. Perhaps some experimentation of your own is due, in due time? Just think of the little piece of paper as the buffer between the oil/wax and the heating chamber, and you ought get somewhere up around the view I'm enjoying, if you're not there already. Ya herd?

I will note that this is not completely maintenance free. Though, I would say it's causing less of a mess than other oil/wax vapes by comparison. This is a minor accumulation I am talking about here, but after five loads, there is the slightest bit of oil residue on the bottom of the chamber that seeped through the paper. Nothing a little iso on a q-tip won't wipe right off. The air holes are totally unobstructed, no problem I can see occurring as long as you have the paper between the oil and the chamber, and clean it every so often. I'd say no more frequently that you would choose to clean an oil atomizer, for example. 'Cause the accumulation is much much slower. I just wanted to point out my discovery that it will require some maintenance to keep spic/span. Micro-dab, stage center?

I would like to see some more information on the micro dab, those videos give next to no information and just really make claims. There needs to be more information available before I'll take this seriously. Especially because they have disabled all comments on every video. Just doesn't give me a good vibe.

Also, has anyone else here taken to using the solo with a whip instead of direct draw? Ever since I thought of a really easy way to connect my herbal air tubing to stem its been my only way of using the solo. I'm sure I'm not the first to come up with this either, does anybody else do this?

Hey folks, I'm about to order a gong stem for my solo, and figured I should order a pvhes also. So since they are out of all turbo' stems, has anyone bought both turbo and non turbo pvhes stems? I'm just wondering if the airflow is much different in between the 2.

Just a thought... right off the bat.
This "MICRO-DAB" can be used with a variety of vapes.
It is being referred to as a "vape".. but it is not a vape. It is a stem variety based on a "technique" that someone has used, as we all discover to vape our oils.
My thinking is that this style of glass cup, with inverted eyedropper, could be more accurately described as an oil vaping "technique"
The end product is a marketable, usable product that facilitates this dab technique.
I am not here to rain on "Micro-Dabs" parade.. but simply to express that this in my mind is not a new vaporizer, as some readers are expressing, but rather a "consumption method"
My opinion... we are all entitled to one!

Thanks VB. You had it all covered, sorry I missed that. I confess in retrospect, I hadn't seen it because I hadn't been on for a couple of days. I'll work to be a better FCer in the future and use the trusty search function.

Agree 100%, this is a stem. Smart, simple and I'm anxious to try one. I purposely asked about it in the Persei and Solo threads because it seemed more an an addition to their already established kits than a vape of it's own. Care to share your initial thoughts on it with the masses?

I am fond of the Raw brand of papers. They seem to impart no flavor at all. That's why I was fond of them back when I still smoked too.

Personally I find that in general any hemp or rice papers do not impart any taste (RAW, Elements, Smoking Deluxe or Hemp), although IDK if that rolling paper method would work with rice papers.

I feel like this has been mentioned before, but just in case, I tried something new with my Solo:

If you haven't invested in a water pipe (bong) for your Solo like me, but still want to hydrate/cool your vape hits, this is the ghetto way to do it:

Fill your mouth part way with water. You don't need a ton, as you definitely don't want to risk accidentally blowing water through your solo and ruining it.

Hold the solo with two hands, one holding the base and one holding the tip of the stem.

Turn the Solo upside down, being sure to support the stem, keeping it from falling out.

Stick the stem in your mouth, keeping the solo upside down. This will keep any water from possibly enter the solo, unless you were to purposefully blow the water into the solo. This is why you shouldn't use so much water that it's hard to keep it in your mouth, you only need enough to dip the stem into

Next, as you'd imagine, you guide the stem into your mouth. Don't worry about whether or not the tip is in water, because next you tilt your head forwards. Tilting your head back will make it easy to get water "down the wrong pipe".

As long as the stem is deep enough in water to accomodate for the size of the miniature waves the bubbles in your mouth create, you're set! I personally swallow the water after each hit, as this forces me to stay hydrated during my vake sessions. Also it would be annoying holding the same water in your mouth for an entire session.

Also, I recommend swallowing the water after you have blown out the hit. If you do it during, it tends to get vapor in your stomach, which can give you a stomach ache or cramps, as it has done with me in the past.

Also also, be sure to check that there are no water drops hanging onto the stem before standing upright. A light shake will do, still being careful to hold the end of the stem for support.

I know this is a long way to say something that could take one sentence to explain, but I didn't want someone to try it the wrong way and water damage their Solo. That would suck!

I recently got a bug to try running my solo thru some of my glass collection, because I want something portable I can still use with a small bubbler.for my upcoming vacation! I devised a simple set-up that I thought some of you might enjoy. I used a piece of silicone whip, and the Thermovape Glass Adapter. I warmed the tubing to allow it to more easily slip over the mouth piece of a Solo stem and then plugged the other end of the tube with the glass adapter. Then stuck the adapter end into the female joints of some of my best pipes! It worked great, although I still need some improvement on how the glass adapter can fit into the tubing a little tighter. (Think Silicone tape would work good for this too to slightly increase the diameter of the GA and provide a tighter fit into the tube) I tried an O ring, but it was not permanent so for now I am just pinching the hose onto the GA and it is great thru all of my glass pieces! Here are some pics of the set up. I will add to this later with more findings and a vid of some clouds!!

Holding the Solo sideways practically solves this problem entirely. Sideways ensures that oil sits tight and does not deviate in either direction, resulting in "Total Absorbtion", as our Hypocrite in Chief was fond of saying in his more human years.

Another quick ghetto way too water filter your solo would be to poke a hole in the water bottle your drinking then put the solo stem in it so its just under the water, if you wanted to get fancy you could even poke a carb hole in it too!

Hey everyone. New solo owner and I'm very pleased with this unit. I have one question I hope I like the answer too. My solo seems to constantly be heating up. The light will stop for a few seconds and then start blinking again. Is ths normal? I get good hits , but the battery life is nowhere near what people have reported. I'm fine with that , I just need to know if this is working at optimal I have a Volcano , MFLB, Two Iolites and one original Iinhale. One a side note. My Iolite hits better then the solo , but not My GFs Iolite. The solo has more consistent hits thru out and uses far less then the Iolite. Any way thanks for any info

Thats normal. Mine blinks quite often, even when it seems to be fully heated.
