Arizer Solo

Just a note to say that I've been emailing PlanetVape and apparently, the PVHES (Turbo Tube) stems are due to be released at the end of May, probably around May 30.

Did they happen to mention the GonG Turbo version at all in your correspondence?

For all you battery wizards out there, just a question. I charge up the Solo till the green light stops flashing so it's full, fine. Then I don't use it for a day or two, and plug it in to charge, and it starts charging for a while again. Does the battery drain WITHOUT usage? Is this just the nature of the battery?

Also, I know it's better to keep the battery topped up. If i'm not using it, should I KEEP it plugged in?

It will discharge very slowly if not used. That seems to be the nature of every battery I have known and used. About keeping it plugged in, it has been suggested that you don't. Once it is recharged, unplug - or weird things may happen.

Hey everyone,

I am having a problem with my Arizer Solo unit (M-106) and was wondering if someone could help me out with some info. So basically, part way through a session, maybe 7 or 8 minutes, all of the lights start blinking and the unit stops heating. This just started happening a few days ago, so I'm thinking it might be a problem with the battery. I'm hoping I won't have to send it back, as I already had to send back my M-105 for another problem, and had to pay a restocking fee. Any info or advice is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

ALL of the lights start blinking? and do they keep blinking? I can't say that i've ever seen it happen. I'm sure you've tried charging it fully and all that already. I'd just get a hold of arizer about it asap. how many minutes into the session does it do it and is it consistently that amount of time or does it vary? Weird...

and wtf @ restocking fee. What was wrong with that solo and who charged you a restock fee? arizer or the reseller? most of the good resellers, like the sponsor ones, would be quick to send you a replacement out free of charge.

@vape4life - yeah a certain amount of self-discharge is normal for batteries (and men), it varies depending on the type of battery (and relationship status). usually most rechargeable type batteries have a relatively high SD rate, whereas your non-rechargeables, alkalines and such dont, which is why theyre usually recommended for use in things like tv remotes and smoke alarms and rechargeables are better suited for more frequent and faster-drain applications like laptops and cameras and solos. most batteries self-discharge faster at first, when they're full, and then the rate slows down, IME.

and i've read that if youre going to store rechargeables for a length of time its better to do it with it the battery closer to 50-60% charge, iirc

@ sessnet & Frederick McGuire - Yeah lol i hate it tho, it makes me have to rush through it just in case. though the last LED of battery life lasts much longer than the rest. I do wish that battery level was indicated more accurately in that way. its kinda like one of those progress bars that zips right along up to 90% and sits for a while.

tho fortunately im usually at home near my AC adapter if this happens

and i still hate using the AC adapter because it slips out of the unit so easily when im inverting it into my tube

now i know why jabba was always laughing and eating munchies. i mean, look at the eyes!

nothin like a solo through a nice ice-filled tube on a hot summer day :D

What kind of weird things? I'll usually plug in my Solo and head off to work, or bed. It's only recharging for the first 1-3 hours, but may stay plugged in for 8-12 hours. Is this not recommended as a sustainable routine?

can i stick my male joint in there?
i do the same thing, haven't noticed anything really but i rarely ever use the whole battery.

I've left it plugged in overnight, or more, and had no problems.

EDIT: After searching this thread for the word "plugged" (in) ... there was no mention of anything weird with having the Solo plugged in all the time! It must have been another vaporizer on FC that I read had some problems with that...or, I am just going insane.

Yes, ALL of the lights start blinking, and they stay blinking. I always fully charge my unit. This usually happens about 7-8 minutes into the session. On one occasion, I wasn't done, so I turned it off, back on and the same thing happened at about 2 minutes.

I purchased the unit from a retailer on Amazon called VapeUSA. I know, I know, I should have purchased it from and authorized retailer, but they had a great rating and they claimed the units come with a full warranty. They charge a $30 restocking fee, but charged me $20 because I left a good review.

Now one weird thing is tonight, I had a 10 minuted session and all was good, nothing happened. I will see how it acts for the rest of the week, and If I still have problems I will contact Arizer directly.

+1 for the times when....

You turn on Solo, see there's only "1" left in battery :ugh: - and that's STILL enough for a session to rock your world!

Does anyone know how big the batteries in the solo are?

I think I remember that it uses two 18650's but does anyone know if they are 2000, 2500, 3000mah etc?

I know they aren't easily replaceable but I'm sure you could wire bigger batteries in for an upgrade without too much trouble...

I'm getting used to the search function :)

They are connected in series inside the pack -- which makes it 7.4v

There are 2 x 3.7v 2200mah connected together / a protection circuit wrapped in heat shrink.

Edit. Damnit you beat me to it haha

ABV "could" be the culprit. I opened a 3 week old m107, and there was plenty in there already.

Wow look at all you suck ups......

You deserve to know...
1-yes, I do pay all of these guys to praise my videos.
2- I personally have praised or liked a large number of your posts, VapeNStone!
3- I am about to make another video with an Ed's TNT Cocobolo Stem, so don't be upset if anyone "likes" it.

About the qtip for hash and for hash oil/BHO.... I am a clean freak, and do not like stickiness. Before trying Hash oils on the qtip, I was using the qtip to clean up stems and tubes, and then Vaping it in my SSV and even in my NO2.
My first qtip/hashoil vid was in 2010 for the NO2. I made the rockZap Hash oil vid in 2011.
In my wildest imagination, I never dreamed that I was the inventor of this concept... it just made common sense to do this. I figured this was what the whole world did with their oils.
I like you VapeNStone... Please do not be unhappy with me- It is not my fault that I am charismatic!
