Questions for fellow Soloist with M102. what # do you vape with? I usually don't see vapor in the tube the tube until i set to 4. I still get vapor at 2, but it's thin blue vapor when i exhale to a lamp.

Im new here and too using forums, I stumbled across an Arizer Solo completely by accident.....
WOW I GOT AN ARIZER SOLO FOR $60.00!
haha, yes I just saw that on the re-read! Apologies. Not sure how I passed my written comprehension tests at school. Guess that's the problem reading posts singly as they come up sometimes, rather than in proper contextOhTheAgony said:Wat, I think you're being a little harsh there brother. It seems to me that the Chad was just replying to Jamba's post above you you old stoner
Awesome first post indeed Tintest! Welcome to FC!
Did you make sure your o-ring is heat resistant, and what kind of metal are you using for the little screen/plate?
Patrick310 said:Those "vapor droplets" are worth their weight in gold. That oil is very potent and can be put into a 14mm bong and torched for many, many tasty hits, or you can soak them in ISO and reclaim the goodies by evaporation.
Check out the Vaporpedia entry for more tips and tricks.
Thanks for the link, quite helpful!
Should i take it up with the online authorized seller why i was sold an old model m103? I don't want my ceramic to start chipping on me and i shouldn't of had to pay the price i did for an old model.
Also where can i get a mesh screen to put into the bowl of the stem? So far i've been putting my grinded herb in the bowl and that's why i think it's been going through two tiny holes and into the upper part of the stem...

I'd say you picked up a real bargain there! It would go for probably almost twice that in the classifieds here.
You've gone a bit further than me on the mods.... so with your o-ring installation i assume you have to unscrew the cap every time to reload, if I understand correctly?
Glad you're liking the excursion to vapor. Are you gonna fuck combustion altogether?
I had similar issues with over heating, when I first got the unit it would over heat to the point it caused the battery to drain in one use! Melted the side of the brace that holds the bowl up. Didnt happen all the time twice since I owned it. I think thats the reason I got it for so cheap! Because of this, I did not have an issue opening it up. I would not recommend it for you because of the warranty issue. But in my unit I found that some herb residue was shorting out the (thermocouple) thats what I call the part that senses the heat of the bowl. Where it connected to the board it packed with vaped herb. Once cleaned I havent had the problem since!VapeArts said:I have a warranty issue with my Solo - an M103 model. It has had the issue since I bought it in August. It runs way to hot (which might be a feature for some of you.) I never use it above 2 which is more like 6 or 7 on the other Solos I've tried. I've waited until now to send it in as I wanted to be sure the other issues they've been having were worked out in case they send a replacement.
I have been asked by Kevin @ Arizer to pay $30 up front for the postage for Arizer to return my Solo or a replacement to me after they work on mine. It seems a bit much to have to pay for the shipping both ways for a unit that has never worked properly and I don't recall people posting about this fee. Maybe I just missed it. I don't know what the shipping to Canada will cost but this is looking like a $50+ warranty repair which pisses me off. Opinions?
Thanks!
Hi the disk is stainless I made it at work. (Machinist) The air seems to come in at the bottom the disk sits on the bottom on the bowl. The dimples I made in the disk, lifts it up just a little. When the air is drawn in through the bottom 4 holes of the Arizer it cant go directly up in to the smoke cuz the disk is in the way, so the air has to circulate then make its way through 10 holes in my disk. The holes also are aligned in a circle, inset so the air misses the edge of the glass stem.sessnet said:Hey tintest,
What exactly did you use for that stainless steel disk, and how did you get it to be the "perfect" size?
I think this is a great modification to the Solo, since I don't like how the metal can get stained (from the herb), and also can scorch the herb.
Do you have a picture of the disk in the Solo? I wonder how the air ends up going under the disk, if it is not covering the holes in the Solo, which would mean it would basically have to be an perfect/airtight fit.
I would like to try that disk but it seems like it has to be perfectly made. If you made these, and sold them - I'd be you first buyer
AceTK said:Pre warm up capillary action for airflow. Perhaps we could improve by adding a more complex path so more heat is transferred to the air before it reaches the herb.
Not really air tight because the disk is the exact size of the stem 14mm so it does not sung up.sessnet said:Ahhh... so it does fit perfectly. For the other 99.99% of us that can't make this themselves, this is a great find and really cool modification, and worth purchasing.
Would you consider selling some of these? If so I'll take 5 of them
Yea a coil type path around the bowl that would bring the incoming air to vape temp before being exposed to the herb. I believe that would also lower the demand on the unit to keep operating temps, and that would improve battery performance!AceTK said:Yeah only without the blowtorch lol. I kinda imagined you could have paths that go all through the mica heater block then into the bowl and into another bottom layer of air capillaries then into the herb at even points in a well defined 5 stream vortex.
