I'm looking to add a free standing glass bong to my collection for use with my SOLO 2 (and possibly AIR 1).

I have one of these https://m.dhgate.com/product/mouthp...ubbler/424388768.html#s1-6-1;searl|1929393707 (from sunshine) on recommendation of you fine folks, that I bought for use with my Air and now Solo 2.

I'd like something that can free stand and to be honest I was getting a fix to add another vape to my collection so I thought some new glass would be a cheaper and better option.

I had a look at https://www.reddit.com/r/chinaglass/comments/7wiia8/top_five_bong_winners/ and I'm really liking the following in no particular order:

4: (edit:found this guy too, not sure if the angle will work)

I see when others have asked for recommendations they're hit with questions about flavour and how much diffusion/perculation? Flavour is very important to me and is one of the main reasons I vape. Regarding diffusion/perculation I'm not sure to be honest. From what I understand if there is more diffusion the vapor will be cooler but I'll lose more THC (as the vapor cools and condenses on the side walls). Also I'm not sure how this impacts draw resistance and/or flavor.

All the different percs blow my mind as I haven't experienced anything other then the first link I posted or old school bongs when I was younger that didn't even have a perc.

If I "have" to get one for better flavour and another for diffusion then that's not a problem either haha.

Sorry for the wall of text

Man that’s a lot of links.
Got the solo ll.
Keep it simple minimal disruption in the water and ice if the device will allow.
I got a simple beaker style bong and a couple of cubes in the mouthpiece make for some awesome cool vapor.

Never had the pleasure of the solo og.
My favourite enhancement on the solo ll is precise temperature control.
The awesome visual and tactile effect of the device are amazing especially in mystic blue.

The color blue 4me.

My pink old one is basically like a well made tank military type!

Da blue is just 2 show off!

Function or Bling = can we be civilized?

I was thinking 2 get a blue SOLO 4 da bling!

The blue is nice and the Solo II does perch nicely on a bong. I like the hits better with and without water from my HealthyRips Fierce. So much so that I gave my Solo II to a friend who is new to vaping.

The Fierce does sit cockeyed on my bubbler but I don't mind. Only place I give the edge to the Solo II is battery life. The Fierce also has better draw resistance for big comfortable bong rips at max temp too. If you're into that.

@SquirrelMaster here's another bubbler to consider:

@SquirrelMaster the standard D020 is probably a little more popular than the 9", takes a little less effort, but they're both good.

I have both, as well as the pinnacle unit you already have (perfect for work) and I also bought one of these just so I could try to be a little like @ataxian, then bought another one in case I break it.

What kind of paint are you using on your solos @ataxian?

Pink. Zero chance of anyone stealing it now, least ways in the daylight.....

IIRC he said it came out of a rattle can.

Not if you invite @ataxian over. It might not even get you through the visit, once the spirit comes on him he can be mighty impressive. Nothing glass is safe.

I would like to see a good review vid on the high efficiency air flow stems or mini bubbler mouthpieces. I recently purchased an Ed's Tnt wooden stem, which looks cool and is way more durable, but IMO it doesn't seem to hit as good as the stock stems. I think the stainless bowl part doesn't heat up as much as the glass so it doesn't seem to get that lil bit of conduction even though it has way better airflow.I don't really use it much unless I break all my extra glass stems at least I have a strong backup stem for hardtimes. I do enjoy the flavor tho just whish it hit as good as the others. Maybe a glass bowl piece connected to the wood stem would hit better.

I bought the original Arizer Solo when it first came out. Geeze, how many years ago was that? I used it for a while then I bought an Extreme Q. I got bored with vaping and they both went into the drawer while I went back to smoking.

When I joined this board earlier this year and got back into vaping, I never even brought the Solo out. I just started buying new vapes.

Now, that I have every vape made (LOL) I dug the Solo and Extreme out to sell them. Solo first. Cleaned up the stem that had been globbed full of crap since I put it away a couple years ago. Charged it up and took it for a test ride to make sure it was working properly before selling it.

Wow, I love this thing. The Solo quickly moved way up my list passing the ArGo and the Fury2, both. 2 Splinters and an iHeat sit off in the distance.

Nothing better than a renewed love affair.

It doesn't 'hit as hard' as stock with the same techniques, a topic that's been 'beat up' many many times.

So, you're right, but for the wrong reason. SS conducts heat much better than glass......in fact it conducts some of the heat on the way to the load in the wrong direction, up not in? And 'to make matters worse' the SS extends up out of the oven area, way past the end of the load (for solid design reasons). The 'fix' is to bump the heat of the cup up a step or even two to compensate. You need to experiment here since your pace/depths of hitting plays a role in the timing.

A natural effect on the changes in conduction patterns brought with the design. Heat it up a bit more and enjoy.
