The air is a lot smaller. I would say keep the solo one always needs a backup or some diversity.
For sure Air is smaller, but if that's significant/useful depends on the owner I think. I like Air, but don't find it much smaller, at least not enough, so I use a Flower Mate of similar if compact is the call (for half the price). For routine use, I use Solo (having both handy) for the better grip, longer battery life, and
superior features. The 'battery meter' function has more precision with more steps and no confusion (those of us who are color blind are denied this useful function in Air because of lame design choices) and additional heat steps available. I see a place for each, but if I had to decide on one or the other I'd keep Solo over Air. More so since my Solos are the old style (which I think is superior to the modern version).
I agree, every serious owner should have a backup, resorting to blazing is not a useful option, you need an alternative. I disagree, though, with the idea of such a similar vape in that role. Rather, I suggest something quite different but still fun to use so it won't sit in the drawer. Perhaps a VG of some sort? Or a personal favorite, Vapman. Or one of the FMs? Recently I've been playing with a new Linx Gaia, a nice (even elegant?) copy of the FM format vapes. It features a glass bowl and MP with a modest amount of SS to thread the MP on, and while heavy for it's size I honestly think it has superior taste/flavor than Solo/Air because it stays so much cleaner?
An individual call for sure, but my advice is to by all means get a solid backup in hand or expect Murphy to knock your only vape offline at the worst possible time and place. That's what he does you know. But consider making it a different sort of vape you'd want to use sometimes anyway?
Merry Christmas to all.
