There you go @ataxian, seems your watching too much of that Fox(foux) news again.

I don't know, I've got a long time Belgian friend, now retired. You know the place? Tucked between Germany and France? He seems to agree with our Ataxian. His last call he told me about the local teacher who quit when several of her students challenged her in class and told her they didn't have to pay attention to her since she, like all Western women who don't cover their face, is a sl*t anyway. 8 YO students. Her school didn't back her so she's quit. I'm betting she thinks they might be in charge? For sure the 8 YO kids do.

His claim, and it seems widespread, is they are not assimilating and are confined to two classes (highly educated and not so) which also don't related much to each other. Bad karma for sure.

I heard recently of a "naked gardening day"... seems the Solo would be perfect for such an endeavor!

And a broad brimmed hat. And a very very large bandana?

No hedge trimming allowed, either.

Solo would be perfect for a naked gardening party. Unlike the old days when you would take a draw of a joint or pipe and a stray seed would catch on fire and pop. :sherlock: I remember getting burned a time or two or a burn mark or hole on a fav shirt.:ugh:

I don't think that was the point, at least not as I took it. The question is, I think, 'are there any citizens living under Sharia Law?'. Not all citizens, but ANY forcing their values on others this way?

I believe the answer is clear, yes there are such people, if we are going to be honest about it. I read about them a lot, even catch them on teley sometimes. And my friend knows a teacher (I think at the school he attended a lot of years ago in fact) who's just got the lesson first hand. Those children were successfully following Sharia Law as I see it, and forcing those 'rules' on her.

Edit: We just had a rash of gangs of Immigrants groping women on the streets (Germany?) thinking that was right. I think this is part of that? Not exactly Western Values.........

Granted 'the West' clings to their ways too, but sadly that's no longer universal I think. The EU is 'losing that battle', you have visitors living by their rules not yours.......and at least some of those expect you to 'mend your ways'. It's starting to happen here, too, of course. We, as so often happens, are just lagging a bit behind 'the old world'. Pretending it's not happening helps neither of us? That, potentially, is the proverbial camel's nose.

To a large degree this is not what happened here in our 'melting pot' experiences, the sort the Statue of Liberty is all about. Those folks learned the language, adopted the ways and rules of their new country and tried to work hard to better their condition. Many of them even got their names changed in what was known as "Ellis Island Hatchet Jobs". As they were processed through Immigration (on Ellis Island for the most part, hence the name). This was in fact fresh in my mind since a conversation over lunch Monfsy included an Engineer friend's friend who's father was a 'Johanson' from 'the old country'. He was told 'we already have too many Johansons, your new name is XXX'. The conversation started with the story of a co-worker of mine, named "Petzo". A couple generations back immigrated with a central European name he could not pronounce (his expression). We got a new hire one day, a Greek kid, who got bright red when introduced......seems it's Greek slang for the bull's foreskin? I guess Paul's grandfather gave some Greek Immigration agent a bit too much trouble....... My wife's family has a similar story, their 'family name' is less than 100 years old.

As Bob Dylan sang, 'the times, they are a changing'. Best of luck to all of us, perhaps Solo will unite us?

@OF, one of the problems as i see it is that when many of our relatives landed at Ellis Island they wanted the "American Dream". They wanted to learn the local language and customs, and assimilate into society.

Many of today's immigrants expect the new host country to learn the immigrants' language and customs.

Enjoying a little bit of Sanders' sensimilla in my Solo tonight. Ah the sweet smell of victory in Indiana. Of course the polls said he'd loose, but Sanders wins in states where people(independants) are allowed to vote. Listen up California and Oregon the only man running for president that has introduced legislation to remove cannabis from the Controlled Substances Act needs your vote. Washington State voted at 73% for Sanders, some people waited as long as 13 hours to cast their vote for Bernie, now we need your help. We can win this. Be sure to vote.

Hello all!

Lurked on this page over the years, I love my solo!

I'm going camping soon I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with charging these things on the go? I have ordered a car charger, but just in case, I want a back up (I've had problems charging from my car in the past).

I have been looking at this:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Aukey-1500...62382000&sr=8-3&keywords=12v+portable+charger
Which supposedly supports 12v, then if I couple with this:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Step-Up-Mo...id=1462382315&sr=8-2&keywords=12v+usb+step+up

Would this work?

Thank you :)

I have a question about the docking station.....

I never fully charge my solo as I know this is detrimental to the health of my battery.....

So if it's just sitting on the docking station, looking pretty, is it fully charging the solo? therefore damaging the battery???

If this is the case, then is it possible to reprogram the station to cut off at 95%???

@OF ???

Or anyone else???

While I don't know it, the battery pack looks OK. But that cable is wrong on at least one end. One end depends on what the battery output is, while it might be the USB port, I doubt it. 9 or 12 VDC could destroy some expensive gear that way. The other end is too big, you need an odd size not the normal 5.2mm. This one will fit on the vape end and works for Air (which is 5 VDC). It is at least closer to what you need:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NQCMRJ6?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00

Good luck with it, but I'd have to see the output connector to be sure.

Sure sounds like it to me. I wouldn't know for sure, mine is plugged into one of my Gadget prototypes, it automatically shuts off at 90% (at least I think that's where I set it.....).

Rude Boy suggests a useful solution, seems to me. He does that a lot sometimes.

Give it 12 Volts and it's going to charge......it's simple minded that way.
