For young guns that don't have a pad maybe it fits their life style?
I'm with you I love my SOLO and would not change it except for a replacement.
Their are heavier hitters for sure and I have a few.
Now the SOLO is a perfect daytime medical device for my needs.
I have one GonG and one STEM.
However my @OF GIZMO charged my SOLO so it's ready for battle.
420 is to be respected on this PALE BLUE DOT!

Lovin this GrapeApe in my Solo right now. A very nice grape flavor. Using temp 4 and a medium grind. Have my shorty PVHE bent stem from PV. I get 1 ten min session then the cannabis is spent. I will bump the heat up to 5 about half way through. You don't use much cannabis in the shorty stem. It has a smaller oven area.
You can't beat this portable unit for taste, ease of operation and versatility. You don't use much cannabis to get medicated.

I have that book! im a couple chapters in. Carl Sagan is one of my favorite people. When reading the book, its almost like you are reading it in his narrative voice from the COSMOS
ill be sticking with my "guy" here in nyc
on another note: love the arizer charging stand for Solo, makes it so easy to charge up quick. With 2 solo's, I'm good all day.

Bummer. I assume, since you didn't say otherwise, that the unit works but won't charge? If it's the old style, which you could run in PA mode with a special supply, there's a slight chance that feature survived. I'd be surprised, but it could happen. The charge and PA functions share key circuits 'up front' and failure of both would be typical I'd think. It could still run OK from a charged battery in that case. If it still runs (but won't charge) you could seriously consider externally charging the battery (removing it or bringing connections out), but that's not a useful solution for most folks.
Too bad, but it might be time to check into replacements from PIU and PV (low Canadian Dollar advantage...).

Yes it lights up but simply wont charge i used it after i used the wrong polarity adapter and it worked fine (i vaped with it after using the wrong polarity)... like i said it still lights one lamp but simply wont charge anymore thx for ur help! And yes it is the old style unit
Ps:could i use any old adapter with the right polarity and v and mA like 8.5v 5000mA? Or is there anything special about the original one?

Although I don't hold much hope, if it was mine I'd sure try to run it in PA mode. Anything from 7 to 9 Volts (7.0 to 8.9) should work if it has more than 2.5 Amps available. Positive in the center, but I guess you know that.......

Are you sure it's not the power supply (charger) that is dead? Just throwing this out there as usually these devices have a diode installed to prevent the reversed voltage from entering. Usually throws the supply into protection mode.
As for the PA, going over 9 volts can confuse the Solo as to which mode to go into. Under 9 is PA mode and over 10 is charge mode. In between is a light show normally.

Because it doesn't work? In the few tenths of a volt past 8.9 Solos start to flash and beep in the 'noman's land' between there and about 10.1 Volts and above (up to 15 or so) where Solo Charges normally. Don't go above 8.9....... Charging happens above 10.1 and under 15 typically. Less than that is chaos until you get to the PA range.
Avoid the guard band.

2.5 would be bare minimum. 3 amp. and up would be a better fit. Folks have had good luck with the old PS1 supplies.

Yes, 2.5 is a solid limit, don't try to cheat it. I have a supply that claims 2.25 Amps, it'll run some of my Solos but not others. If the Solo is already hot it seems OK, it's that marginal.
And, while it's true some/many reported success with those supplies, some reported problems including at least one fire? At least some of those failures were blamed on counterfeit supplies IIRC, some not? It seems the PS1 typically uses less power than Solo needs in PA?

I hear Carl's voice when I read the PALE BLUE DOT.
My old SOLO is my device while reading.
I like to sip CANNABIS and read fast.
CANNABIS makes one smarter if his/her interest is there?
I know people like a high powered portable vaporizer and get it!
The SOLO is perfect for how I like to feel.
Reading (non-fiction) is my hobby lately and the SOLO helps me focus.
If I need to sleep or a self induced coma I use something else.
Being a ZOMBIE is not my goal however if people want to be in a fog that is their business.

Good luck, remember not to completely discharge the battery (PA uses a small amount of battery power), since the charger is dead if you do (discharge the battery) you'll have to remove it and charge externally.

I bought my solo from nemastevapes in the UK, and I got sent a continental 2 pin plug, not a UK earthed 3 pin...
How do I know if its ok?
It is a bit sparky when I plug it in, but seems to work ok, does turning the adapter upside down change anything???

Also, UK people, which way is the polarity symbol facing on the bottom of your solos???

dont worry with the original adapter u cant do anything wrong the polarity is automatically right and has nothing to do with the 2 pin plug or 3 pin plug. It only refers to which way the electricity goes, the direction. Because it is direct current it goes in one direction u see unlike alternating current which changes the direction of the electric flow. So you will be fine!
