Arizer Solo

I needed something lightweight and flexible so the Solo wouldn't fall over. That's why I chose the Herbalizer tubing for a whip setup.

Let us know how that works out @CarolKing . I`ve been using a 1' surgical grade latex whip with my Solo (and FM V5.0) and I like it a lot. Really improves the draw and no tipping problems.

I did just order 5' of Silicone tubing from PV and may try something as long as 3', so it will be interesting to hear how you like yours.

I just attach one end to any of my Arizer stems and the mouth piece is a Pyrex globe I stole from an old epen...works great!

...did a full charge on the battery. That went exactly as expected.

Removed it from the charger and pressed both buttons for lift-off. Got the tone, got the idle light and LED #1. Arizer includes a little first-time use instruction page that says to run a full 12 minute cycle at #7 before attaching the glass tube.

So, I pressed the up arrow to #7, idle light went out, Heat LED started to flash BUT then the Idle light came back on and stayed on Hmmm. Isn't the Idle light supposed to go off? Unit heated up in spite of this fact.

So, emailed Aroma-Tek and am awaiting a response. If this Idle light thing is messing up, could it be a harbinger of worse things to come? Better get it right while I can, right???

OK, for all of you confused by this Idle light, I've got the official word from both my retailer Aroma-Tek and the manufacturer, Arizer. BOTH of them say the Idle light should be ON all the time except when you're adjusting the temperature.

What really threw me off was the Instructions (I know I shouldn't RTFM, but I do). It has a list of LED indicators and what they mean.

Here's what it says:

LED IDLE, blue: indicates the device staying on in idle state, not heating.

I took this to mean that the blue Idle light AND the red heating LED should not be on at the same time, I mean if it's "not heating" why would the heating LED be on too? But apparently this is not the case.

So, since I didn't have to return it, I am a vape virgin no more…and it is awesome.

What surprised me most was how much more you could actually TASTE the herb than when smoking. WOW. So, I am definitely a convert.

Thanks to you who replied with the newbie tips, particularly the heat level suggestion - it was PERFECT.

So a turbo is way better? Or is that just an assumption?
I love the solo on this little bubbler on 7 with some Inquisition blasting in the back. And the rain just completes this day :)

Depends, I guess like most things. I used the stems stock for a long time, then turned a stem into a turbo and really like them now. My most-used stem is a stock straight turbo. The only real restriction with it is how tight you pack your material... some people don't like them, too much airflow. It's not like the HE stems, those have notches on the rim and air channels down the side. Those give you more airflow because extra air comes from outside, turbos give you more airflow because there's no restrictions (and no external air, just from heater).

So Q,
You have a stock stem with only with the holes bored out? How does that fair? I have a turbo GonG and it has channels, notches and bored out. There is way too much airflow.

I like the turbo but I can see why some wouldn't like it at all. I have only the bent turbo, not a gong, so Im sure I would not like the turbo gong unless using it dry.

Best place to order a solo and stem to have ur water tool ready?

PuffItUp is the place to go for a Solo. $135 for the base package with Screens, Silicone Rings and 2 day free shipping. You'll need to email them/Randy or call them/Randy to get that deal. Go out to their site for the contact info. Give it a shot ... you won't be disappointed by the deal or the customer care.

I don't know how knowledgeable you are about the options for the Solo and the water tools. I recently worked with a new retailer, @stickstones , who is well known in the FC community, to assist me with putting together an accessory package for the Solo. If you want that kind of personal shopper service like I did PM him. I was thrilled with how it all worked out.

Hello fellow Solo enthusiasts

The Solo has been my daily driver for just about one year now and its beginning to show its age. The battery was weakening so I replaced it with a high capacity battery but unfortunately I didn't get much improvement.
Additionally, after opening and closing the Solo, the base is cracking and chipping away around the screws. I know the base chipping is not that uncommon, so what can I do to prevent the base from getting worse? I want to try and keep the Solo, at least as a backup, it was my first vape that I liked.

I am ready for a desktop now, tired of recharging all the time. I am thinking Enano / Underdog. Tried a Volcano digital recently, nice and easy, but I am not a "bag" person nor am I interested in $650. I prefer direct draw, 7/24 readiness, power adapter/controller, water tools. Whaddya think?

Thanks

Hey guys I need help asap! I broke both stems like an idiot. So I need a new one. Instead I want the hydro tub and water attachment. Can somebody link me to both of those. I really need help. I can't find it anywhere. I need a good price. I saw earlier in this thread some getting both for under 75?

By the way, my Solo says M1H2 on the bottom. However, I can't find anything when I search for that model number. Any ideas?

Here's a link to the f-Bomb and PVHEGonG combo on Planet Vape: https://www.planetvape.ca/f-bomb-and-pvhegong-combo-for-solo.html
Cost is just more than $100 after Canadian currency conversion. IIRC the <$75 price tag was a sale that has since ended.

Or you could look into the Pinnacle water tool, but if I recall correctly it costs a bit more...

EDIT: I'm finding the PNWT online for about $60... VaporNation has it for $62.99 after 10% off coupon (you'd need to buy the GonG separately though, which would push the price up to between $85 and $100) : http://www.vapornation.com/pinnacle-hydrotube.html

My rig is almost complete. D020 with gong. I ordered the claisen posted a few pages back but I am near certain it won't fit the D020 but guess what? I don't even care I will order a 187 from dhgate and it will fit that. I also ordered some of those domed screens. I used the D020 last night and it blew my mind how medicated I was. I almost couldn't play battlefield 4!

So, I'm leaning very heavily toward getting a Solo (need to quit smoking ASAP because of living situation, and my Grasshopper probably won't arrive at least a month). I will probably get it via Vapeworld, using their FC-specific discount codes.

Anyone have any tips, tricks, concerns, or suggestions before I go ahead and purchase? (@CarolKing this is largely because of your recent posts in the GH thread.)

EDIT: I will also be looking for a slim, smellproof tube/container for carrying around a loaded Solo, if anyone has any recommendations.

Everything you need will be come with your Solo, except for maybe some 1/2 inch screens.
My travel solution isn't particularly odor-proof, but it's sort of like hiding in plain sight.

If that claisen is 18mm it will fit the D020. The 187 is also 18mm.

I love when the SOLO thread recharges! Someone post a vid or a pic! Come on Soloists!

I love the D020 with a Caisen.

If I use the FC187 in fit it with a CHILLUM tip.
I use the Caisen on the D022 as well.
My favorite for the SOLO is the D020.

Smaller is better for me in this case!

I highly recommend the @Pipes stands as @ataxian says. It helps to protect the bottom of your unit. Out of sight out of mind, no more stressing about the little chips and cracks. A big plus you can charge your Solo standing up. I have one on each of my newer Solos.:2c::leaf:

Got a bit of some Skywalker OG in the Solo this evening. Have a relaxing night Soloists.
