That's the stuff. Not sure on what they call it. Bought a few feet of a couple sizes a few years back and use it for many things. Handy stuff but not high temp.
Handy stuff but not high temp.
Therein lies a real concern, IMO. Since we watch 'want hash' condense out of the vapor stream up close to the vape we can assume the air going through was mighty hot, well past the typical temperature ratings on such tube (typically 150F max with 212F intermittently allowed).
Rather I suggest high temperature Silicone tube, works great, quite flexible. Like this:

I`ve been using a short (3") length of the latex already for several months without any issues so I think I`ll be ok but the silicone in the link looks like a really good choice...I`ll see how this one goes for now though...
You are, as usual, correct, but if using on the end of the solo or Ed's stem, should be good. This stuff does need replacing after time and the closer to the heat the more often. Cheap and accessible enough. No taste that I can complain about.Therein lies a real concern, IMO. 3/8 ID, 1/2 OD (1/16 wall) is probably the best call?

Your call, but IMO still being alive isn't really proof it's safe? I think it's clear you can easily expose it to air out of the safe range, which will degrade the material. Most likely emitting some things I don't need to be breathing in. A few dollars for 'the right stuff' removes that risk.
For many of us vaporizing is all about health, a good standard to use and encourage?

It can be safely steam sterilized so I`m thinking it should be ok...it`s also connecting to the end of the Solo stem so it is a good distance away from the actual heat of the oven...
Just doing some research, the hottest temp we can inhale is 45 Celsius before we actually burn our airways...so the temp set at 5 on my Solo may be 200 C in the oven but the vapor we`re breathing has to be much cooler than that or we`d literally be burning our airways...
Looks like ill be waiting till next week to get that bubbler
hope it come ssoon :T haha
My solo hasn't been vaping the entire bowl recently, Its not consistent throughout. I talked to arizer over email and they said "Based on your description it does not really sound like there is anything wrong with your unit.." then continued to say I could send it in. I don't want to send it in if they are just going to send it right back to me.
Dark spots? Or just darkest against the oven?My solo hasn't been vaping the entire bowl recently, Its not consistent throughout. Just because you have doubt that others will agree with you I figured I should post that I 100% agree with your assessment of the solo. Its not really a bad thing it just makes me scratch my head when I hear people say the solo is a convection vape.I'm going to say this is pretty normal, to one extent or another. It's what I'd expect from a conduction vape. I know guys like to think Solo is convection, but IMO ain't so. The heat gets to the load mostly by conduction. During the hit, airflow spreads the heat around, but before the hit the heat is in the load concentrated near the hot parts (floor of the oven and walls of the stem).
I know I'm sucking around for some 'that's not how it works' posts, but I think if folks will honestly look at their stems they'll agree the darkest parts are near the fire?
